The c.d. is a mix of Afro-Cuban drum playing, it begins with the song Santisimo,.
1. Santisimo: is a supplication to La Caridad for protection and blessings in the name of God during the ceremony.
2. Ave Maria, no this is not the somber Ave Maria of the Catholic tradition; it is the Ave Maria as sung by the Africans in the New World who embraced her as one of their own. Strong and powerful.
3. Ninio De Atocha, a song to the holy child of Atocha, that child spirit that fed and gave water to those in needs.
4.Luz Redentora; Traditional song to the Spirits, envoking them to the ceremonies. This is one of those songs, that you will remember your Abuela or Madre sing if they followed Espiritismo
5.Oh Venid: Another song calling the Spirits down to a Coronacion ceremony in the name of God.
6.Trabajo Media Unidad, begins with the catchy phrase, Saint Maria on the moon, Saint Isabela on the Sun. The Singer not only asks of the blessings of Saint Maria, and Saint Teresa, but also invokes the healing and protective power of the Seven African Powers.
7.Congo Mio: Calling the Spirits of the Congos that reside within the woods and the forests.
8. Indios: It is an important rule in Espiritismo Cruzado, that before we can honor the Spirits of our Various Mother lands, we must first honor the Spirits of this land that we are at. this song is to the Spirits of los Indios Poderosos, great protectors of the Espiritistas.
9. Marinero: (Sailor) To the Spirits of those Sacred Healers who lost their lives within the seas, and to the Spirits of the African Souls who lost their lives within the belly of the beast (The Boat) To all the children who are embraced in the glory of Yemaya and Olokun.
10. Gitana: The Gipsies brought a form of fortune telling, and dancing that has survived in Espiritismo, even though the blood of the Gypsies has been intermixed. The Gypsi spirits are important as their ancestry blood runs through the veins of many of us, so for that reason we call and invoke them. Especially during times of Divination and Fortune telling.
11. Viene Un Ser. "The Coming of the Souls" The name says it all.
12. Siete Dias; (Seven Days) Probably one of the songs I sing the most, it is in honor of Viejo San Lazaro, also known as Babalu Aye. The singer says he works hard, and even has to beg, seven days and seven nights to ask for some small offerings to give to Babalu Aye.
13. Tres Veces: (Three Times) In honor of the Spirit of the full moon and her Spirit Daughter named Lucero. Lucero is a spirit highly respected in the Palo Mayombe tradition
14. Mama Francisca: To the Souls of the Mothers of the Seas, La Madre De Agua, Mama Francisca. The singer calls her, and petitioners her, but his prayers fall to deaf ears, as Mama Francisca ignores him.
15. Quien Llama (Who Calls Me) This song is the voive of the Spirit who tells the singer. Who calls me, you do not know me, Stranger. It is a warning that things that one does not know common knowledge about should be respected.
16. Congo De Guinea Traditional Song about the Spirits of the Congo, who has left all his magical items on the earth, but still comes down to the earth to help all those in need of his help.
17. Se van Los Seres : (The Souls are Departing) Closing the Ceremony and thanking the Spirits for their divine presence and influences in the ceremony.
Althoughg this c.d. is completely in Spanish This it really is one of a kind, top quality and it should be in the collection of every, Santero, Curandero, Brujo, Espiritista and Hechisero.
