5 out of 5 stars An excellent album for Fetus.......2007-05-20

Anticipating this new Dying Fetus album had to have been an interesting experience for fans.
After 2000's "Destroy the Opposition", a genre favorite, the band lost, outside of its dominant song writer, the entire lineup.
Fortunately, guitarist/vocalist John Gallagher found new members and continued the band under the same name. 2003's "Stop At Nothing" was a
mixed bag as far as fan reaction is concerned. Personally, I thought the album, though a bit different (and I do mean a bit) stylistically,
was full of excellent riffs and quality songwriting - but many were disappointed, and so doubted the band's future.

We'll call "War of Attrition" a "reaction" to that doubt. The kind of reaction that puts a boot on your throat and asks:
"What the **** were you thinking?" .. maybe while calling your aunt fat or something, Whatever.

I'll begin by saying that "War of Attrition" is FAST. The fastest Dying Fetus album to date. The increased speed also aided
in making this album their most INTENSE release as well. The album is, as a whole, ferocious. John's vocals are extra hateful this time around,
I swear you can FEEL the man's disgust as he busts gutturals to the breakdown near the end of "Homicidal Retribution". And, as always the lows
are complimented by a mid-ranged set of vocals; this time coming from bassist Shawn Beasely, who, by the way, does an excellent job. Though all
three have been very similar, Shawn's growls have got more feeling to them than Vince's did - closer to the work Netherton during his tenure.

The guitarwork is about equal to that of the past two releases where technicality is concerned, but the riffs are BETTER.
All of the cute, catchy riffs we know John's writing for are here, and then some. The balance between picking styles is fantastic - plenty of muted, notey fretboard sex,
epic tremolo riffs at the right moments, and some of the bands best breakdowns to date. (Bold statement eh? Wait untill you hear "Raping the System")

This album is filled to the brim with classic Fetus moments, and for that matter - songs. 3:27 onwards in "Fate of the Condemned" has me
pumping my fist and singing along every time I hear the track. I look forward to nearly breaking my neck to those triplets next time I have
the pleasure of seeing these guys live. One of the things that makes this album, and artist, so enjoyable is that unlike many bands, they are
able to write so many different song-parts effectively. The breakdowns? - Above Average. The racing, blast-driven riffs? - Far Above Average.
Parts of this album sound like some sort of unstoppable, bulldozing march, parts of it sound like the best of technical death metal guitar work,
and some of it makes me want to pick change up off of the floor like I was the poorest mother****er in town.

3 out of 5 stars Not their best, but better than most.......2007-05-02

Let's start first by stating the obvious: this is Dying Fetus. I saw them in concert in November, they played two songs off of here with Duane Timlin behind the kit, and I was floored. I looked forward to hearing this album.

Fast-forward to today, and I still like the cd, but something is missing. Usually with every album that comes out, Dying Fetus expand upon something they were lacking. "Infatuation With Malevolence" still is a great album, but the song structure, lyrical content, and musicianship weren't all there. "Purification Through Violence fixed one of those, they still lacked the lyrics and production". "Killing on Adrenaline" fixed the lyrical issue but at the sacrifice of production. "Destroy the Opposition" was by far their best album, period. It put together every aspect of their abilities onto one album. I was let down with "Stop at Nothing". Don't take that as I don't like it, but I think it kind of went down compared to Destroy. The lyrics, although provoking, lacked depth. The technicality was there, but it had some songs that bored me.

Now, with "War of Attrition", Dying Fetus has managed to retain two members from its last album. Mike Kimball's lyrica writing ability has drastically improved; although they don't quite match up to Jason Netherton's. The music is great, but not perfect. If, in fact, Duane Timlin used triggers I am very disappointed. He is a great drummer (as evidenced on Sarcophagus' "Requiem to the Death of Passion" but I can't respect triggers (hence why I am not a huge Fear Factory fan short of blasting it through a set of 10" subwoofers).

I guess, maybe, I was expecting too much. This album does fit nicely in my collection, but with so many other great albums, it won't get played as often as, say, Belphegor's "Goatreich-Fleishcult".

2 out of 5 stars Underwhelming, to say the most........2007-04-10

Let's see, where to start? How 'bout their new drumber... he's fast, kids! Oh, he's realy fast. No wait, I don't think you understand... he's really really REALLY fast, and he's gonna prove it to ya!!! Thanks to drum triggers on both his kicks AND his snare (I friggin' HATE it when these death metal drumbers do that), he's able to speed along like Origin, complete with squeaky-clean clinical production. Where are the trademark Fetus breakdowns? The trademark Fetus BEATdowns? Hmmm, I counted about 2... while I was awake.

The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because despite putting out an album you could easily sleep on, they're STILL better than 99% of what's out there....

5 out of 5 stars A very interesting album........2007-07-02

First off this album is amazing! The musicianship is amazing, the vox are awesome. This album had me headbangin' from the first few notes to the very last one. Imagine the brutallity of Napalm Death meets the complex song writing of Death meets the technicallity of later works of Suffocation. In short this album is amazing. I don't have any complaints about this either. My favorite songs are Praise The Lord (Opium Of The Masses), Destroy the Opposition, Born In Sodom, Epidemic of Hate, and Pissing In The Mainstream.

2 out of 5 stars Idiotic Vocals Ruin A Decent Metal Disc.......2007-05-12

Right out of the gate, I want to point out that I am no neophyte to metal; I first became a metalhead in my early teens during the NWOBHM movement in the early '80s, I play guitar, and I am a huge fan of death-, progressive-, experimental-, metalcore-, math/tech-etc.....whichever sub-sub-genre of metal you throw at me...I fly the devil horns, and it is good. Now I love death metal...until recently I thought it was nearly impossible to ruin the cookie-monster death-metal guttural vocal style. I mean, it probably came into existence when a metal band in the early '80s couldn't find a decent singer. Well my friends, I have heard Dying Fetus, and now I know that it is possible.

Decent (and very heavy) metal riffs and classic death-metal blastbeats are completely ruined by a vocalist who (and I'm completely serious here) sounds like a nineteen-year old at a kegger trying to burp the ABC's. Literally. It was almost impossible for me to even listen to the rest of the CD due to my snickering and irritation. For examples of this style of vocal done right, see any number of other bands....Death, Decapitated, Gojira, Immolation, Kataklysm. I mean, really......I wanted to give it one star due to excessive annoyance, but the solid riffs and guitar work prevented me.....get a singer, dudes. Jesus.

5 out of 5 stars Sweet.......2007-01-16

Yeah, I know, lack of a better title, but better than giving some Rolling Stone like title (you know, fruity).

This band rules, and this is the second catchiest death metal album (first still goes to Effigy Of The Forgotten). This band also is the only band that sounds like nothing else. Here's why:

1.Groove. Death metal has to have some of this, other wise, it sounds like complete _____. That's why I hate most metalcore. BEcause it's boring, uses the same damn beats. Most metalcore blows.
Some albums don't have as much, but all metal albums have to have at least a little bit. If it dosen't, it has a much harder time of being something that you can'enjoy for the actual music (okay, there are a few albums that got away with not alot and kick ___, like Obscura).

2.They have a really kick arse style. Grindcore mixed with regular death metal, and it dosen't sound like a Beck song.

3. Lyrics. Yeah, these guys have a name that most lame- half arsed Cannibal Corpse rip-offs, and they had two albums before this that used gore lyrics. But finally, they switched to political and social problems of America. Great to see that some bands aren't trying to make more gore lyrics. CC and others will handle that just fine. So if you want to try a metal band, focus on lyrics that take more thought, or haven't been used. Even if they are about death, you can't use different kinds of death themes (Nile)

That's the main thigns that made a difference to me. And it's awesome to headbang to. If you like death metal, than you should check it out. My only complaint are the vocals, they kind of aren't as good as Suffocation or Cryptopsy (Lord Worm rules).

5 out of 5 stars Ferocious!!.......2007-01-15

I must say that Dying Fetus has to be one of my faves of the Death/Grind genre. Unfortunately, I was one of those people who found out about Dying Fetus when Stop at Nothing was released. Then shortly afterwards I worked my way backwards through their catalog and bought the amazing "Destroy the Opposition" then I purchased "Killing on Adrenaline" and so on. I would reccommend buying any of the older Dying Fetus CD's first before buying "Stop at Nothing" that one kinda sucked. Onto the review, John Gallagher is one of those vocalists who send goosebumps down your spine. The guttural vocals are almost inhuman and sound like they came out of the pits of hell. He is one amazing guitarist and the rest of the band are amazing musicians as well. I believe Chimaira asked for the talent of Kevin Talley to do the drums for the new Chimaira record in the absence of Andols Herrick. Jason Netherton went on to make Misery Index a full time thing after "Destroy the Opposition." But I'm pretty sure you already knew that. Those who do not like death metal are like "Those bands have no talent...blah blah blah" I just give them a big slap in the face and throw on some Dying Fetus, or some Skinless or Guttural Secrete or Deeds of Flesh and then they pretty much shut up. So if you are a fan of EXTREME METAL of the most punishing kind, pick up all of Dying Fetus' albums along with the aforementioned bands as well.

5 out of 5 stars Decimation.......2006-08-27

If you are a fan of the genre then you will love this disc. It is a non stop Brutal Assault on your ears. Now since theses guy's have a habit of changing members on every album it should be interesting to see what the line up will be for 2007' If you want real true Brutal music the kind that you feel inside by this disc an unload on someone. Stay Brutal. HORNS UP!!!!!

This is the craziest rap cd I have ever heard in my life. I have heard hundreds of rap cd's but this thing takes the cake. It is like your on acid listening to this. I also enjoyed every minute of it. I am not going to get into the details of this you just need to listen to it. The cover is only a prerequiset to whats to come.

5 out of 5 stars One of Esham's all time Best..........2006-07-23

This album is not for everybody, as you may have already figured by the fetus on the cover.

KKKill The Fetus is an extremely hardcore album. Esham spits lyrics with a flow and rhythm that I have not heard matched by any mainstream rapper.

If I had to choose favorite songs on this album, they would be:

1.) KKKill The Fetus -- The title song, also the darkest on album.
2.) Head Hunter -- features Mastamind and TNT from Esham's group, Natas. Awesome flow, lyrics, rhythm.
3.) Game of Death -- also features Mastamind and TNT. Great song.
4.) Hellterskkkellter -- This is still a great song even though it is in fact an edited version of the very explicit version that can be found on the HelltersKKKellter EP.

I am not going to attempt to sell you on KKKill the Fetus because no amount of words or hype will do justice to this album. The only way you will be able to truly comprehend the true Awesomess of this album is for you to buy it.

What I can tell you is that you won't find another artist like Esham for a long time. You won't find him on MTV or the radio because he is Underground.

5 out of 5 stars CLASSIC ESHAM.......2006-02-08

This is a classic Esham album. Not for the weak of heart or easily offended. Some songs suck, such as "Jackie", but most of the album kicks a**. The album cover perfectly sets the tone for the album.

5 out of 5 stars Best Juggalo/Horrocore cd.......2005-08-15

Esham IS listed as HORRORCORE, he raps like a HORRORCORE rapper(talks about death and killing, sounds like a horror movie). The term "acid rap" was coined by Esham himself AFTER he made a few cds. So yes he calls himself an "acid rapper" but its still in the horrorcore genere, since acid rap is his own definition and many people never heard of it(Such as ICP is "The wicked Sh*t" but its still under horrorcore because not many people know ICP). As for Esham not being a juggalo.... WTF?? Are you serious? You must hate ICP then, because esham was on ICP's first jokers card.... and the last. He is in FACT a JUGGALO, he doesnt need to be in icp to be a juggalo(Twiztid,Blaze Ya Dead Homie, ABK, Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, and me for example). So you dont like ICP, thats fine... Just dont try to cut all his ties to ICP so you feel better about liking him. He knows ICP, Hes a Juggalo, Juggalos like his music, and he is BOTH Acid Rap and HORRORCORE. Learn about the artis before you say things that make you look foolish later...

"ESHAM AINT HORRORCORE! ESHAM IS ACID RAP. NONE of his albums are HORRORCORE, so NEVER label him as horrorcore. HORRORCORE are the groups that developed their styles from ESHAM"
-OK, Horrorcore was around BEFORE Esham, He made "Acid Rap" not horrorcore, and He developed his styles from Horrorcore.

"Horrorcore is icp, twiztid, abk, zug, etc, all them tryhard clowns. thats exactly what they are - clowns. and they all suck. ESHAM AINT A F%#KEN JUGGALO. So any juggalos get the f-out and dont review any esham or natas items on this site."
-UH, maybe YOU shouldnt be here.... If you had been a fan more than a month you'd know most of his fans are ALSO JUGGALOS, AND SO IS ESHAM HIMSELF.

"The king of acid rap."
-Hes the CREATOR of acid rap(how did you miss that) and if you make something youre pretty much the "king" even if someone is "better"

Album Description

Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Misery Index evolved out of Dying Fetus, featuring founding member Jason Netherton and Sparky Voyles. The line-up is completed by drummer Matt Byers, who replaced former Dying Fetus drummer Kevin Talley. First full length, features 11 tracks. Nuclear Blast. 2003.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Not as good as Discordia..........2007-07-07

and whoever compares this to Dying Fetus has obviously not listened to either band extensively.

This album kicks a** nonetheless and its not just cause Kevin Talley from Dying Fetus is in it. I think if we had to blame someone for such sweet music we'd have to direct it at Jason.

Jason Netherton rocks the boat. Go support Misery Index.

5 out of 5 stars The best debut you probably haven't heard.......2006-06-07

For those that do not know, Misery Index are a Maryland/Washington D.C. based death metal band with strong hard and grindcore influences. If you have heard of this band, it's probably because drummer Kevin Talley is the former skinsman for Dying Fetus. But, even though both bands play death metal which is equally brutal and technical, Misery Index are no Dying Fetus Junior. This band is a lot less groove oriented and politically motivated. Talley and the gang also get by without as many breakdowns as that band because MI are always/consistently heavy. There are absolutely no slow tempo changes or melodic guitar lines on their debut album, 2003's "Retaliate," so the music is never allowed to breathe. The only times the onslaught relents is during the few, brief seconds when one track has ended and the proceeding song hasn't yet begun.

Talley pummels away at his skins, creating complex, walloping blast beat bonanzas while guitarists Sparky Voyles and Bruce Greig (who would leave the band in 2004) lay down an uncountable number of crushing, mosh pit ready riffs. And vocalist/bassist Jason Netherton's commanding, arresting voice barks out mean, ugly lyrics like "the razor blade infections cut caverns deep across my skin." Lastly, this record also boasts great production, because the instruments and the rhythms sound very crisp and articulate. The end result is a disc which is composed of eleven awesome, impenetrable, walloping, skull-crushing, dissonant, punishing, satisfying songs which plow straight ahead, steamrolling over everything in sight and shredding the listener's speakers.

Songs like "The Great Depression," "Angst Isst Die Seele Auf," and "Servants Of Progress" interlock cracking, machine gun, almost mind boggling drum beats with lumbering power chords, and, likewise, the album opening title track features both huge, pounding power chords and excellent double bass drumming. The fifth track, "Demand The Impossible," might be the record's best song. It augments churning riffs (which are thick enough to wipe out a whole city) with a catchy, slamming, jackhammer blast beat.

Misery Index deserve to (and are probably going to) be huge. So, if you're a metalhead and you haven't already checked this band out, you owe it to yourself to do so. "Retaliate" (and MI's sophomore album, "Discordia") are essential purchases for everybody who is a fan of death metal and grindcore, and all neck snappers in general.

4 out of 5 stars Tons of energy here.......2005-05-25

Retaliate" starts unpromisingly with some generic chugging riffing. But after a minute comes a dive-bombing solo straight out of Slayer, and the album is off to the races. The title track alone goes through death, grind, and straight-up thrash in whiplash fashion. The rest of the album mixes up these influences, keeping things brutal and varied, if not exactly groundbreaking. The surprisingly thoughtful lyrics alternate between misanthropic and abstract.

1 out of 5 stars You people are kidding, right?.......2004-11-09

Misery Index is like Dying Fetus without the catchy pit riffs, without the breakdowns, without the groove, and without the growl.

And that's a good thing because...?

If you like Dying Fetus or anything heavy get this ep now! The re recorded version of the song "grotesque impalement" is highly addictive and shows what this band can do with kevin tally, the man is one sick drummer. The cover of baphomet's "streaks of blood" kicks major A$$ as well. They also re record the song "tearing inside the womb" I never cared much for that song until I heard it on this cd. Kevin tally turned this once mediocre song.. in to one of my favorite dying fetus songs! I have said enough, buy this cd NOW!

5 out of 5 stars Dying Fetus: Their finest piece.......2004-12-04

In my opinion, this album is the pinnacle of the band's career. They now act as a brutal metal band these days, with vocals that have spit... no... vomitted blood on their glorious past. Well, Dying Fetus fans, now's your chance to take a step back in time, and see the album that defined the band that reinvented the genre.

The vox on this album are by far the best you'll ever hear if you dig them deep grunts... I know, I know, there's bands out there that can go deeper, with more gargle/beast like roar, but they sound like trash, and their vocals really don't fit with the music anyway. With Dying Fetus you get the best Death Metal for their time, and vox that could make any current death grunter shudder.

The C R A W L I N G sensation that defines Streaks of Blood will change you. Try not to grin as you are sent into a world of new sensations, all of which leading you to believe that you actually could get away with that killing spree you've been putting off for so... very long.

5 out of 5 stars Onslaught of malice, indeed.......2006-05-04

As soon as the opening song kicks into high gear, you should realize that Dying Fetus' fifth album is about as heavy as heavy gets. It's also as dark as death metal gets. From the scorching riff and thunderous blast beat on "Schematics" to the pounding, earth shaking power chords which close out "Vengeance Unleashed," not a single ray of light or melody shines through on any of "Stop At Nothing." The words "brutal," "uncompromising," and "dissonant" don't even begin to describe this album. It's fueled by complex and walloping drum beats, crushing, sludgy riffs, and one of two vocal styles--very deep and growly "angry bear" vocals, or higher, more intelligible (but not quite hardcore) screams. And, of course, this is Dying Fetus, so the musicianship on display here is almost immeasurable. The drummer sounds inhuman, and the riffs are very complex. Plus, the guitar solos are usually a lot more technical than those of other death metal bands. "One Shot, One Kill" boasts ultra heavy, churning riffs and a stunning, speed of light blast beat, whereas songs like "Institutions of Deceit" and "Abandon All Hope" are backed by buzzsaw guitar maelstroms (plus the former track also has a fast, cracking snare drum.) Some songs even manage to be kind of catchy (consider the bobbing riffs and staccato vocals on "Forced Elimination"), and the appropriately titled seventh track, "Onslaught of Malice," is maybe the most complicated of the bunch. It marries slow, grinding riffs with many different tempos/rhythms, and also features a breakneck speed change. If you like heavy as heck death metal, virtuosic musicianship, or metal which combines brains with brawn, nothing should stand in your way of owning this album. In other words, Stop At Nothing until you buy this C.D.

5 out of 5 stars The turning point?Or just an experiment?.......2005-10-04

Let me start off by saying,if you are expecting anything along the lines of Destroy the Opposition...it is not going to happen.
This album is where Dying fetus redefine their sound.
Punk influences are even in this record. The whole line up has changed, and John Galagher is the only remaining original member,so the music is quite a bit different.
The verses seem to become a little boring at times, but interesting, alternatign from slow riffs to speedy riffs.DF still have the ability,to maintain powerful godly riffs, just a little less for this release.
Though this album may lack a little bit of expectations as one would expect,it has many classic Fetus songs.

1.Schematics: By far my favourite song on the album, the riffs just asault you like the riffs in Destroy the Opposition.Vocals are powerful and the lyrical content has never been better. This is the song that converted me into a Dying fetus fan. 999999..../10

2.One shot, one kill: This song starts off with a catchy riff, something that almost suites a sports video game, the song si extremely catchy and is the single off the album, another classic song. 8.5/10

3.Institutions of deciet: This song took awhile to grow on me,it didnt hit me at first, but after awhile, the riffs seem to blend together....and the slow riffs become favourites. 7.5/10

4.Abandon all hope: This song is nothing special, the odd guitar riff sounds great, but nothing too special. 6/10

5.Forced elimination: This song is quite catchy, reminds me of earlier DF songs, this song is extremely fast and blends a lot of punk influences in it. 7/10

6.Stop at nothing: Ah,yes, the album titled song, great song.I do not know really what to say about it,but it is great! 8/10

7.Onslaught of Malice: Never really liked this song, one riff kciks ass though! 5/10

8.Vengeance unleashed: It took a long time for this one to grow on me,a death metal asault, great song! 8.5/10

Overall, this album has its ups and downs, but I am glad to own it.

5 out of 5 stars Stopping at nothing.........2005-09-28

Dying fetus rips out pure unadulterated bat to your grandma's face metal from hell with the newest release "Stop At Nothing". Except for some minor timing problems and a faint click of the metronome in the background, S.A.N. is my Dying Fetus fav. I like this album a lot with its creativity, easy flowing format, and constant attention getting riffs. Most metal bands give us the old 1-2. Lets stick 1 to 2 boring power chords and play them till we have a 3 min 30 sec song we can puke up on a cd. Then we'll add 9 more and bang! A cd for 9.99!! Not here. For a good time call Dying Fetus extension S.A.N. But don't get too excited, drummer Erik Sayenga has left the band. We can only hope for the best on the next cd! Rock on.

5 out of 5 stars The Fetus' Most Technical Work Yet.......2007-04-22

Dying Fetus has always been one of the most interesting technical brutal death metal bands I have heard, and this album, "Killing on Adrenaline", is definite proof. First off, we have Kevin Talley behind drums, and last time I checked, he is an amazing technical blaster. John Gallagher is a unique vocalist with his mix of brutal death gutturals and his screams. The music is the most interesting. The band adds in a groove to prove that they're not just some monotone speed-fixated brutal death metal band, and they do this by adding in crunchy breakdowns to catch the ears. Again, we have excellent, complex song structures added in as well. The bass is technical and audible as well, especially in "We Are Your Enemy". I highly recommend this album if you enjoy the styles of Suffocation and early Internal Bleeding, which is brutal death with a dash of groove and technicality.

5 out of 5 stars KILL YOUR MOTHER!.. AND RAPE YOUR F***IN DOG!.......2004-11-21

I heard destroy the opposition before this and I didn't think
Dying Fetus could top that. Well was I wrong. The album before
that(killing on adrenaline),was 10 times more brutal and technical...well they are both technical, but this one is faster. And yes, this is the catchiest deathmetal band out there that can be catchy without you getting sick of the music, like that crapy band six feet under. The music found on here does make your adrenaline flow and want to smash everything in your path.
GREAT F**KING ALBUM!...I WILL HOPEFULLY SOON BUY THIS.

2.DESTROY THE OPPOSITION
3.STOP AT NOTHING... BEFORE THIS
4.PURIFICATION THROUGH VIOLENCE (PS: Dying Fetus is quite possibly the greatest band I have ever had the pleasure listening to. All their albums should be in your collection if you are a fan of extreme, brutal, crushing, pissed off metal!)

5 out of 5 stars I DIED LAUGHING!.......2004-01-05

Their music can be summed up like this:
-- BLAST BEAT FOR FIVE STRAIGHT MINUTES
-- LOUD, FAST, NOISY GUITAR PLAYED AT ROUGHLY EIGHT BILLION MILES PER HOUR
-- THE OCCASIONAL SOLO THAT FEELS SLAPPED-ON AND IN NO WAY ADDS TO THE SONG
-- AN ANGRY BEAR ON VOCALS

In other words, I loved it! More comic death metal that'll have you in stitches! Laughs galore!

5 out of 5 stars amazing cd.......2003-10-01

the best dying fetus album period destroy and purifacation are great too but dont come close to this one fornication terroists(track 3)is one of the best songs i ever heard from the genere easily one of the best albums ever made if you like drumming then you need this album kevin talley is 1 of the best in the world and he proves it here (and on grotesque and destroy) if you like blasting death grind this album is for you 1 word just sums it up perfect

5 out of 5 stars The best Fetus album so far..........2003-09-01

Dying Fetus are one of America's best death metal/grind bands and on this album, their third and final release before signing with Relapse Records, is in my opinion, their best.

Killing on Adrenaline contains eight crushing slabs of brutal death/grind, mixing grinding blasts with an awesome groove, jaw-dropping technicality and their trademark dual vocal assault, with bassist/lyricist Jason Netherton (on mid-high pitch duties) and guitarist John Gallagher (providing the ultra low guttural burps). The production is thick and meaty and extremely underground.

Killing on Adrenaline is quite simply a death metal masterpiece and a superior album to its excellent predecessor: Purification Through Violence, which should be owned by anyone who claims to be a fan of top notch technical death/grind. This album also features the Fetus debut of one of metal's elite drummer's, Kevin Talley.

Anyone who thinks that the career of Dying Fetus begun with their Relapse debut, Destroy the Opposition, needs to open their eyes and ears and discover Infatuation with Malevolence (the crushing debut), Purification through Violence and this devastating third triumph on Morbid Records. All hail Dying Fetus!!!

    Product Description

Firstly, if anyone doesnt like catchy songs with short samples at the beginning, generally concerning porn he can simply stop reading this because that is what this band is more or less all about. They have shit loads of catchy riffs that are also quite groovy but which are not all slow. They have lots of fast picking riffs, double bass riffs as well, which are fucking great to listen to. The main element in this CD is by far the drummers feet. By this I mean that he can gain lots of speed with his feet and the sound of the bass drums stand out in the recording. The vocalist is utterly sick and brutal but he seems to be a bit repetitive at times. This is easily made up for by the high-pitched screams, which are fitted perfectly in the songs.

I am currently blazed off my @ss and decided to pop this bad boy in,and boy am I getting an as$ kiccking. this may not be as technical or brutal as killing on adrenaline but I still feel the power of this music as it's pounding out of my speekers right now. I just wanna get up and kick somebody's @$$! I just love singing along to songs like "Bluntforce Trauma" and "skullf*ked". The song bluntforce trauma realy shows dying fetus's pissed off side. The lyrics are just so pissed off! I love IT! If someone were to ask me my favorite band I would would have no problem saying DYING FETUS. This song reminds me of why I am a fetus fan,and proud of it! The rest of the cd is all good as well. I love how jhon grunts out that little rap about smoking weed at the end of skull f**KED! For the fags out there that think stop at nothing is there only album are realy missing out on some kick as$ music. Also check out there ep grotesque impalement, it kicks so much a$$! and there second full length album Killing on adrenaline a technical brutal but catchy Death metal masterpiece! 5 out of 5 stars THE archetypical punk record........2006-10-04

If I were to put a single album in a time capsule to tell the future what 1980's punk was all about, it would be this album. It's tasteless, low-brow, beer-drenched, and political -but without any pretense to intellectual sophistication or political correctness. There more than one song about nuclear apocalypse and Ronald Reagan is ON THE COVER. (Somehow punk has never been the same without Ronald Reagan...)

Then there's the song "I am my own God," which speaks for itself. ("I can do whatever I want, cuz I'm my own God. Don't have to worry if its right or wrong, cuz I'm my own God." Nietzsche could not have said it better.)

The music is amateurish and derivative, but you can tell these guys poured themselves into it, and in this game that's what counts.

This is the soundtrack to juvenile intensive probation. It smells like spraypaint, cigarettes, and Milwuakee's Best. Get a Walkman, and listen to this on cassette tape while learning to ride a skateboard.
