4 out of 5 stars Yigi Yigi Yadda Yadda Yadda.......2006-07-31

After much anticipation for the arrival of David Hudson's Yigi Yigi I am somewhat less enthusiastic after hearing it all the way through. Don't get me wrong, David Hudson is one accomplished didge player and deserves the fame that he has reached in his career. It's just that for a solo project like"Yigi Yigi"I was looking for more versatility throughtout the cd,yet it came across as a bit repetitious.Would I recommend buying it? Yes, but if your looking for didge work that will blow you away, this is not it.Still, "Yigi Yigi" is worth hearing to experience David Hudson's hard style playing.

4 out of 5 stars The earliest analogue synth ?.......2001-12-31

I bought this on impulse after hearing one of the tracks playing in an indigenous art shop, and upon a few listenings, it's quite amazing. Coming from a electronica background the sound reminds me of analogue synth ambient, like, say, Andrea Parker. Rich resonances and some transients so sharp I find it hard to believe that they are produced vocally.
On the down side it tends to repeat one bar over and over, and even the lovely sounds tend to start to wear after a while, since the didgeridoo is the only instrument for the whole 50-odd minutes.
It's begging to be sampled and remixed.
