Markoe has produced a remarkable, faithful *instrumental* expression of Yogananda's melodies. These cuts are not intended to sing along with; they will not get your foot tapping. That is not their intent: they will soothe the heart and mind and put you in a better place for yoga, meditation, or just clearer thinking.

I had never bought a non-SRF recording based on Yogananda's chants, but I happened into a book store in Encinitas when this was playing. Wonderful for background music in any such setting - or for a yoga class. For that the pace is ideal. The artistry of the orchestration is superb.

Will Put You To Sleep.......2004-04-11

I have been quite familiar with these chants for years, and was excited to find this CD. However, after first listening, I was very dissapointed. The arrangements are, IMO, boring and repetative, and most of the chants are played at a "death march" pace. On the plus side, the musical talent and production are professional. If you want to hear inspiring renditions of Yogananda's composed and interperated traditional chants I would recommend any of those published by Self Realization Felloswship.

Great CD for Yoga and unwinding / Healing.......2004-03-18

I use this CD primarily for yoga. A stressed out friend of mine listened to the CD and replied, " I needed that" . All the music is there to sample. No tricks or false manufacturer reviews to manipulate. Just majestic music

I Found This CD By Accident While Listening To Samples.I Didn't Really Know What I Was Looking For But As Soon As I Played This I Knew This Was It! This Is Much More Than Music. Sound Vibration That Reaches The Inner Self. I Now Have 7 Goldman CD's And They All Are Great!

Jonathan Goldman is one of the world's most accomplished sound healers. This CD is composed of gentle, soothing music that will relax your mind and body, slowing your brainwaves and assisting in practice of healing arts such as massage, reiki, yoga, & more. This music provides a calming background even while it draws you in to its flow, helping release tension and mental overactivity. This recording has the flexibility of being suited for a variety of purposes. It lacks any distinct melody, while it isn't especially rhythmic like much Eastern meditation music or shamanic oriented recordings. Journey to Samadhi, the 2nd track, has some celestial spark to it, while the closing track, Awakening, is really hypnotic and likely to lull you into physical sleep, which may lead you into the Awakening into a deeper level of awareness suggested by the track title.

I use this music to fall asleep!.......2007-07-14

Once menopause set in, insomnia became the norm instead of the exception. As the years passed, I learned that playing music would help me not only to fall asleep more easily but also to stay asleep (or to easily return to sleep if I awoke during the night). Therefore, I am always looking for 'sleeping' music...music that relaxes not only the body but also the mind! This CD has been wonderful!
