5 out of 5 stars A courageous and premonitory cantata.......2006-11-11

Some years before Pinochet's dictature the group Quilapayún created this cantata where they warned the dangers for the chilean democracy.

5 out of 5 stars La primera obra de Luis Advis, junto a Quilapayún........2000-05-15

Vamos mujer...

5 out of 5 stars A piece of history.......2000-04-14

For everybody in the world! Listening to this cantate of Quilapayun is such an emotion that you don't need to speak spanish fluent even if i can advice you to read the lyrics and try to understand as well as you can. The words are exceptional as the music which is modern and folklorical, an authentic piece of chilean art useful for any latin american and any citizen of the world. Just beautiful... to make you cry. If you like, do not forget to go listening to Violetta Parra, Victor Jara and Inti Illimani, also from Chile which can be proud of his national music.

5 out of 5 stars La obra maestra de la nueva cancion chilena.......1999-05-07

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic but heartbreaking tale set to wonderful music.......1998-10-12

This tale is a tragic one, but is wonderfully written and performed. I have the orgininal record from Chile and loved it when I first heard it. Typical of the Canciones Nuevas, it is a story based in history, yet told for political reasons -- to underscore the plight of the workers, now (when it was written, sometime before 1973), and then, at the turn of the century. The masterfully written songs draw parallels throughout the album. But the tale is equal to the musical performance and both are superb.
