Another RARE release from Vania Abreu.......2007-07-15

Vania's second CD, not as good as "Seio de Bahia" released 3 years earlier. But it was long awaited by me, this lady can sing a ballad like no one else, her delivery is so smooth and natural. She is fabulous. Her style is diametrically opposite from her sister Daniela Mercury. She is directly comparable to Astrud Gilberto, Bebel Gilberto, Lisa Ono and Marisa Monte, and she is better than all of them, this lady is the REAL DEAL. I just can't understand why she does not sing more, her talent is world class, one of the best ever. On this CD I liked 5 tracks, Minha Alma, Beca, Eu Sou A Multidao, O Amor Foi Inventado and Pra Falar De Amor.
This CD along with Seio de Bahia are definitely 2 you want in your collection.

Terrific voice, backed mostly by a small ensemble of piano, guitars, percussion, etc. No huge sweeping string arrangements, this is much more contemporary MPB leaning towards 'smooth jazz' with a Brazilian flavor.

Some songs are ballads, all but one kept my (non-Portuguese) interest. The mid-tempo songs are great; no tracks loaded with percussion for dancing or "chill mix."

Portuguese lyrics included, great photos.

This recording is smooth and good for that mood. However, I really, really like her other CD, "Seio de Bahia."

Vania Abreu é uma das mais bemvindas cantoras que surgiram nos anos 90. Sua doce voz nos acaria em canções de muito bom gosto. De um estilo todo seu, Vania só canta aquilo que toca seu coração. Eu sou a multidão é o quarto cd de Vaninha, e mostra as angústias de se viver numa cidade grande como São Paulo. Destaques para "Meu Querido Santo Antonio", "Pra falar de amor", "Imaculada Oração", e tantas outras que fazem desse trabalho mais uma preciosidade na carreira dessa intérprete irrepreensível.
