Tony Pagliuca, Aldo Tagliapietra and Michi Dei Rossi were One of the Most Important Bands of Italian Progressive/Pop Music Scene of the 1970's and Continue Into the New Century. Le Orme Are Internationally Renowed at the Top of Progressive Pop with Albums Like 'collage', 'uomo Di Pezza', 'felona E Sorona' and Songs Like 'gioco Di Bimba', 'sguardo Verso Il Cielo', 'felona' and 'canzone D'amore'. Studio Collection 1970-1980 is a Compilation with 37 Songs from their Nine Studio Albums. There Are Four Rare Tracks Available for the First Time on this CD. They were Originally Released Only as a 7" Single: ( 'il Profumo Delle Viole', 'i Ricordi Più Bell', 'sera', 'e' Finita Una Stagione'). All Tracks were Digitally Remastered. Includes a 24 Page Booklet with Bio, Discography, Rarities, Memorabilia and Rare Photos.

This double cd I have recently purchased gets very high accolades for the Italian progrock. Especially for Le Orme at their best. For those who read the other reviews of Le Orme's early album-works and want to sample them - then purchase this cd. Best value thus far. But it is in Italian.

a complete anthology of a remarkable prog rock band.......2006-03-17

What was about Le Orme that made them one of the most remarkable bands of the Italian progressive rock in the 70's? This anthology, very well compiled and fortunately with the then on vinyl original versions, offers a thorough view of where this band was through at least two decades. As with all the other collections, it will be inconvenient to have three-four titles from each old LP, but the product is worth the price. All their classics, including the very progressive "Sguardo verso il cielo" or ballads like "Gioco di bimba" til the sounds that led them into the 80's, are here to be enjoyed. To distinguish them from other Italian bands, think of a Venetian version of ELP and Traffic fused together but with a lot of very original thoughts translated into music. If you can catch the lyrics it's a plus, but the music stands well by itself. Highly recommended if you don't plan to buy their extensive production.
