Neapolitan songs are of the best in Italian songs . And as for style , voice and interpretation Claudio Villa remains one of the best .I first heard Claudio Villa in Malta in 1956 , and from that day I could never hear enough of his serenades , I have an extended library of his records ,CDs , and tapes. Although Claudio was a Roman , his interpretations of the Neapolitan song , brings out all the drama , and the sentiment which is unique in the Canzone Napulitana.

I had first discovered Claudio on napster, so I needed more. I was not in the least disappointed in this CD. Both the bittersweet softness and sense of drama that is so Italiano!! You must hear it!

You may have heard others do many of these - but not like this! Beautiful arrangements & orchestrations. His interpretations are sweet, lovely, passionate. 14 out of 16 are very nice to great! Enjoy the journey to a gentler time - A must have for Villa fans.
