another great dance cd!.......2005-10-21

I really enjoy this cd as much as it's companion 'Enchanted Dance', and for the same reasons. Each piece within this album is a seperate dance piece within 3-5 minutes usually, which makes it perfect for quick recitals, student nights or competitions as the quality is very good. This album I thought was a bit more challenging with it's variety of interesting beats. Both are 'beginner friendly' and it's very compelling music to dance to. A great addition to any dancer's collection, and if you're not a dancer, you will be after hearing this!

great dance cd!.......2005-10-21

This album starts off strong and offers a nice variety of individual dance numbers. Each selection is around 3-5 minutes, perfect for quick recitals, student nights or competitions as the quality is very good. Each piece is a contained dance unit, with intro, build up and finish, so it's very easy to choreograph, and zils are played in each piece so its helpful for a beginner to hear both the beats and where to come in with the zil. Very compelling music, it's one of my favorites (can you tell?).

Bright, lively, short pieces.......2004-01-01

I have used several songs from this CD as beginning choreographies for my students. They are short, with well-defined phrasing and verses that are easy to choreograph. I have also used several numbers (including the fun drum solo!) for restaurant and hafla dancing, and the audience always wakes up for these perky Lebanese pieces!

Perfect for what I need!.......2004-12-21

I was looking for a CD with lively songs that were not too long, and this is it! Plenty of music to shimmy and swing the hips to. One or two songs have that "off-key twang", but most have wonderful melodies and rhythm. The best CD I have found yet for upbeat dancing.

One of my favorites!.......2004-06-04

This is one of my favorite belly dance CDs. Since there isn't much info on the CD, I'll try to give as much as I can.

It is mostly instrumental. Would be great for restaurant dancing, a solo, or just jamming to! The music is just lovely! It allows for both fluid and expressive movements, as well as more percussive and lively dancing. The music uses many instruments, but doesn't sound jumbled. Rhythms are fairly simple and easy to dance to, with more complex instruments complementing the rhythm and keeping the songs interesting and varied. The tempo is mostly a fast medium tempo, with some songs being somewhat fast while not at all frantic, and some being a fast slow tempo. Songs range from four and a half minutes to eight and 3/4. the total running time on my version (see below) is 54:18. The sound quality is great. The songs vary from one another in sound, so it isn't one of those CDs where every song is just like the other. It will give you plenty of variety to dance to, while still being true to its style. It's definitely for night club style dancers. Many songs are good for zil playing. Unless you do fast veil, this isn't really veil music. Also, the cover picture, which isn't shown here, is very lovely.

Also, my version has one more song on it called Sahara. Not sure why it isn't listed.

This CD is DEFINITELY worth buying! A great CD at a great price!

I have used this album for years as one of the most versatile collections of music in the genre. Perfect for hafla, crowd dances, belly grams, solos - you name it! My troupe has adopted 5 of the tracks as regulars for free dance at public performances, yet 3 members have used other tracks for solo choreographies. Highly recommended!
