Simply Life-Changing.......2007-02-19

There's very little I can say about this album to be honest. It's completely changed my perspective on music in general, and French music in particular. 4 years after I purchased this 2-CD set, I still listen to it religiously.
My favorite songs include "La-Bas", "Puisque Tu Pars", "Filles Faciles", "Comme Toi", and "Envole Moi"... There are very few less-than-excellent tracks on this masterpiece. Jean Jacques Goldman's work is truly legendary, both as a writer and a singer. This album serves as a general look at his beginnings as a solo artist. I would recommend this whole-heartedly.

This compilation is simply Jean Jacques Goldman at his best ... but every time you think you've heard his best yet, he outdoes himself. Sublime lyrics and beatiful melodies ... Jean-Jacques ROCKS (no pun intended)

I have always loved Jean Jacques Goldman's music. He is amazing and the lyrics of all of his songs are extremely profound. This compilation is one of the best, I can listen to it over and over again without ever getting bored... especially "Puisque tu pars," which is my all time favorite song... get yours today!. now... go!.

Jean Jaques is BACK!!!.......2001-04-27

In case you've been under a rock for the past 20 years, Jean-Jaques Goldman is the King of French Rock 'n' Roll. This album is a collection of his favorite hits from the 81-89 glory days. My personal favorite is "comme toi", which is live on this CD. Also look out for "Envole Moi", which has the classic chorus: "I may be gay, but I came here to play!" Now that I have this CD, I don't think I'll listen to anything else! Well, maybe a little Michael Bolton. I love that guy.

the best French songs.......2000-08-30

I only discovered JJG 3 years ago and I adore his music. He is definitely an artist of unbelievable talent whose songs are really meaningful; indeed anyone can relate to "Pas Toi" or "La-Bas"...what a beautiful song. I think that what makes him so loved and admired in France is the fact that he is hardly ever present in the media, on tv for example. He is extremely discreet and always writes amazing songs. To me, he has gotten better and better over the years; the lyrics of his songs have become deeper in meaning; I'm thinking of "En Passant". He is currently I think, the best French artist and has been so for the past two decades, not only through the songs he writes and sings himself, but also through the songs he writes for other people such as C. Dion. My only regret is that his music is not played on the radio in the United States or Canada. What a shame ! If you are an English speaking person studying French or if you are just curious and you would like to hear the best French music, you should definitely listen to Jean-Jacques Goldman. Not only "Singulier", but also "En Passant" and the live album released in 1999. Enjoy.

Jean-Jacques Goldman has firmly established himself as one of the most talented and best regarded French artists. His story is amazing in itself. After leaving one of the prestigious and highly elitist Grandes Ecoles of France, he went on to prove to the world that he made the right decision. He has produced some of the best music I have ever heard. I am 20 years old now...definitely not a child of the 80's, and I still adore this music. He doesn't seem to be too popular in the US, but on a trip to france, I realized just how big a following he has in that country. This CD is great because it puts together most of his greatest hits from the 80's. I can listen to this album over and over and still sing: "Elle met du vieux pan sur son balcon..." It's a wonderful CD!

Finallement quelqu'un a decidE de metter leurs meilleurs chansons sur un album de compilations. La seule chanson qui manque est "Ton Autre Chemin".
