Album Details

In 1967, Letta Mbulu Recorded "Letta Mbulu Sings" for Capitol Records and in 1968 She Recorded "Free Soul", also for Capitol Records. Although These Two Albums Do Not Appear to Be the Usual Sort of Release from the Stateside Label, They Are Here Because They were Both Produced by David Axelrod, Whose Influence is Clear on Many of the Productions. One Track, Kukuchi, also Featured on Axelrod's Own Anthology Album So Fans Will have Been Given a Small Introduction to the Music of Letta Mbulu. The Booklet Will Include an Interview with Axelrod About Mbulu and These Productions. This is the First Time that Either Album Has Been on CD.

i saw letta in the 60's at "shelley's man hole" jazz club. what an experience. my friend lost my album and i had not been able to replace it until now. thanks amazon
