Editorial Reviews

Audio Magazine, August, 1995
"The entrancing sounds and natural ambiences – through dazzling field recordings – create what any enlightened listener would call music."

Product Description
A collection of truly amazing sounds that will take you on a journey -- beginning with the rhythms of women drumming their hands on a river in Zaire, and ending with the hissing, 15 billion-year "echo" of the Big Bang that created the universe.

Here are thirty-three of the most exotic and fascinating sounds you'll ever hear, including --
• eerie undulations of "booming" desert sand dunes
• ethereal tones of an aeolian harp
• haunting voices of Siberian shamans
• mysterious choruses of bearded seals recorded under the Arctic ice
• the cataclysmic roar of a tornado
• unearthly signals from the planet jupiter

All these phenomena and more are included in this remarkable collection -- a treasure for all those who wish to explore or rediscover the magic of listening.

4 out of 5 stars Great for Educators.......2005-08-31

I used this CD to enhance a lesson plan for an Earth Science high school course. It worked fabulously!

5 out of 5 stars Best Nature Sound Book/Album Ever Recorded!!!.......2003-01-18

You would have to listen to this cd to understand how extroidanary it is. I picked up my copy at the Nature Company. It is best if listened to while looking at the book at the same time. You'll hear booming sands, ants, elephants communicating over miles, and even the sounds of space. It is a very cool book/album. You must get it and you won't regret it!
