I have been a Branduardi fan for many years. I must say that this is not only one of my favorite Branduardi albums, but one of my favorite albums (OK so I still call 'em "albums"...) of all time. Scintillating, beautiful music inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi. I was fortunate to be able to see him perform this material in the Tuscan town of Monteriggioni - a glorious event! This is a rich, luscious body of music that is pure aural ecstasy - do your ears and spirit a favor and give this a listen (or a few hundred....).

L'Infinitamente Piccolo is more than a title, it is a personal investment of the author to share with the audience the celebration of the Christianism in the world. With the theme of St Franscis the author shares the jurney of St Francis within europa. He also brings aditional voices such like the onces from I Muvrini (Corsica) and Madredeus (Portugal) but also has included a composition from Ennio Morricone (the of Mission). The author is the one who becomes the 'infinitamente picolo' to share a monent of reflexion on live, faith and beauty.

Something is missing.......2000-08-16

This is the latest of Branduardi. There is something missing in this collection of songs -- the impression I have is that it was done too quickly. However, it is still enjoyable.

ALl the songs are centered on St. Francis of Assisi and the text either comes from the "sources" or other familiar text (ie. Dante's comedy). I personally enjoyed Battiato's presence and the Canto Popolare.
