Quite good, but where's the middle eastern sounds?.......2006-03-29

This is a mellow, ambient chillout set, perfect for playing in the morning or late at night when you want some nice sounds in the background. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is because I was hoping for a little bit more of an Arabic or Middle Eastern feel to it, and personally it fell short of that. This disc set should be called "Chillout" instead of "Arabic Chillout" because the title is misleading. Sarah Brightman's Harem CD has more Middle Eastern sounds in it than this one does, but still the discs are good with some great beats, but very little Arabic in this, except for the titles of the songs and artists.

This is a very laidback collection of Middle Eastern themed electronica and chill out. I can just put it on and listen to it or just have it as background music at home or at work. Not very repetitive or beat heavy but just very good and mellow. My favorite track on here is Moroccan Dance (Mix) by Rumi. I remember hearing this at the W Hotel lobby quite often recently and wanting to know who it was but couldn't find out and noone knew. Then when I purchased this set and found it on here I was quite happy to hear it again. It's a great track. Very mellow. Other tracks on here that are really good are Kafez by Nurai Lita, My Faith by Mantra, Spiritual Signs (Light Mix) by Tariq, Raqs Beledi by Al-Ghazali and You R the Light by Jawab-A-Shikwa. If you are at all into Middle Eastern themed Chill Out and Electronica then this collection is definitely worth it. Especially for the price!

Arabic Chillout (and volume 2 from this series, as well) is a well-compiled, mood-enhancing, beat-infused but relaxing compilation of tracks that are either by artists from that region or western artists who produce tracks with a distinctly eastern feel. You probably already know Thievery Corporation, Natacha Atlas, Christophe Goze, and Radar.....if you like their style, you'll enjoy the rest of the tracks on this 2-album set. Recommended!

an outstanding chillout.....get it!.......2004-06-03

Even though I have a very wide musical taste, I've never been a particularly huge fan of middle east music. That was before I came upon this CD. Kept hearing it playing in various places in Indonesia last month (Bali) and brought it home to rave reviews by all my friends. Definitely an ambient chillout worth having.

Amazingly Superior Ambient Arab Groove!!!.......2004-01-24

This is possibly the best the best Arabic music I've heard in a long time. It's an got an incredible mellow mix of deep groovy rhythms combined with the mysterious icy ambiance of Arabic music's rich heritage. Definately a must for any fan of modern Middle Eastern music!

One of the BEST Chill & Bossa Nova CD's EVER.......2006-04-12

I admit my expectations were low. A Arabic/Lebanese chillout CD with two nomads on the cover did not seem to promise much.

At best, it might've been some exotic new agey tracks that had some Arabic/Middle Eastern sounds and instruments thrown in there to pander to us ... or worse, it was just some Arabic/Middle Easthern music made bland and 'soft' for us 'outsiders.'

How wrong I was. This is one of the BEST chillout bossa nova CD's of the past few years. It is outstanding through and through! Lebanon seems a far off distance from Brazil but clearly, the pulse of bossa nova runs through LEMONADA. The music is worthy of the great Brazilian bossa nova artists of yore and the vocals are sexy, breathy, and perfect. It is the perfect exotic antidote to your cold dreary snowbound/rainout weather outside.

My only complaint is the CD cover should be better and it's not a double CD :-) This CD is not leaving my player.

Not once have I played this CD while entertaining guests and not been asked what it was!

For the uninitiated, it offers a great intro to some of the definitive classics of (primarily) the Levant. The more seasoned ears will witness evergreen classics in their fresh new lounge outfits. Sure to induce nostalgia while asserting the progressive reality of today's young Middle East talent.

Great chilled out beats but with very strong character.

Downtempo Ethnic Fusion at its best.......2006-02-11

This collection of classic arabic songs that I grew up listening to has been superbly remade into very relaxing atmospheric downtempo beats, perfect for chilling in the tub, reading, cooking,entertaining, and for those that know the original classic songs, what a treat. If you are a fan of Claude Challe, then this will appeal to your palette.

A fresh take on Arabic music! I loved it...poetic lyrics, a wonderful feel, very sensitive!!! I highly recommend it.
The name of the Album has been misspelled. It's 'Lemonada: Arabian LATIN Chillout experience'.

WOW! fantastic vibe, amazing compositions, authentic beats and richly textured soundscapes...
i don't really understand the lyrics, but they seem to transcend translation..
it's a great way to wind down and lose yourself on a beach somewhere between lebanon and brazil..

highly recommended, a must have...
