Dub from the Secret Vaults is a compendium of unreleased material from TCD's entire existence--selected, updated, and/or composed especially for ROIR by Twilight Circus. But Ryan Moore explains it best:
Years ago I collected numerous releases from ROIR during their early cassette-only days. I can recall eagerly awaiting the next mail order delivery containing various musical treats: dub, reggae & otherwise. It is now with a sense of this history that I have prepared this new Twilight Circus album for ROIR. All the material has never before been heard outside the secret dub laboratory. The tracks span all the various eras of Twilight Circus up to the present & even include some early dub experiments recorded on cassette almost 20 years ago! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it! Keep on dubbing, --RM - Jan, 2004.

even though dub plate selection is ryan moore's, aka twilight circus, bestselling album, i personally think dub from the secret vaults is much better. this album is a much rootsier dub album than some of his others, and in this regard it is good if you are new to twilight circus or dub in general. for the dub heads out there this is a must. from the space dub of space dust, to the dub take on traditional african music in electronic africa, this album has plenty of new sounds to prick your ears up. and the album sounds great, low low bass that will make your neighbors hate you, with all the other instruments floating around on top. listen to it on really good headphones to leave the planet. overall one of the best dub albums to come out in awhile, and one that cements twilight circus firmly on the throne of modern dub.

Near Perfect Dub.......2005-04-10

No doubt that Ryan Moore is talented. It's nice to hear real bass and drums! I did't give this 5 stars because some tracks were a little busy and distracting. Some were even distorted but then there are the others. There are at least 4 perfect tracks including: SLYY, Other Worlds of Dub, and Liftoff. These are worth the price alone. I'd like to hear a best of CD from Twilight/ Ryan.

If You Have Any Doubts..........2004-07-07

Remove all doubts. This is top-notch heavy dub.
Take it from a guy (me) who is brutal when it comes
to programming-out weak or vocal-ruined tracks...this CD needs no
programming. It is A+ all the way. Clean heavy dub,
no distracting vocals (the opening snippet from Big Youth
doesn't detract, it's just a few seconds). This is tasty
soulful dub, heavy & rootsy, with feeling, and gives your sub-woofer something to do...
SO if you had any doubts about purchasing this,
REMOVE ALL DOUBTS. It's even better than Twilight Circus's
Volcanic Dub.
