Perfeccion traducida en musica.......2007-01-04

Este fue el primer cd que escuche de Adriana. La calidad de su musica me impacto tanto que ya casi tengo su coleccion completa, y todos los trabajos que he escuchado de ella son excelentes. Es dificil encontrar un artista que muestre una consistencia tan uniforme. Adriana Calcanhotto es el mejor ejemplo.

Fine but weird.......2005-04-23

It's a very intimate CD,and a listener should thank on his knees that by buying this little album hes admitted to the closely bound-up circle of insiders :). Basically, all songs when Adriana sings and plays the guitar background are really heavenly tunes,
and there's really a tangible kind of affinity between her and the audience.
But what baffled me, was that apart from the majority, there's: a) a couple of tracks which don't belong to the performance ao livo; b) i don't like people fiddling with the recorded live material (like in the ending of "Cariocas")
The CD is great for its acoustic songs (a must-have!) and very weird coz of all those things added to the input performance. But even if it spoils all the fun, the CD is still worth coughing up a few bucks :)

Só com um violao. So simple, only her voice and a guitar. So tender and fulfilling. Adriana, sits down and plays songs directly to your heart. Nothing more than feelings, great and passionate experiences about love and heartbreaks.

I love Brazilian music, but my experience with modern singers has improve after Adriana concert @ forum Barcelona 2004. It was a great experience and great performance.

Enjoy the disc, these songs will open your mind to a new Brazilian feeling.
Ear the lyrics!!, Vambora is my favorite (love and pain in the same song), but enjoy Cariocas (really a Brazilian hymn) and Vamos comer Caetano (fun cannibal song to Caetano Veloso) are amazing.

I can't understand a word of portugese, but her guitar playing, and singing just mezmorizes you.......... This CD is a definate must for everyones CD collection.

Me gusto Lucía desde que la vi en la telenovela "Tu o nadie". Es una cantante magnífica, una actriz buen y una mujer muy hermosa. Es que puede comparar Lucia con muchas actrises y mujeres famosas que algunas personas consideran "bonitas". Me gusto casi todas sus canciónes y álbumes. Lucia Mendez is one of the most gorgeous and gifted women in the entertainment industry today. She has had quite a colorful career with her acting, singing, and (early) modeling abilities.She could have easily crossed over to the U.S. market and have been a tremendous smash ! However, she is greatly respected by her fans for not "selling-out" and becoming another commercialized U.S. entertainer with no regards for the art but for the mighty dollar.

In this long anticipated semi-anthology the listener gets a real good glimpse of her humbling beginnings singing classic rancheras and boleros to her mid 80's pop sound and contemporary settings. Corazon De Piedra (Heart of Stone)is a love theme from one of her more popular t.v. novelas from 1987 ( Tu O Nadie ?) which really gained her even more success and awards.It is a timeless classic with very beautiful lyrics and arrangement ( it almost has a romantic Italian sounding feel to it). The track Castigame is a more pop oriented tune with a catchy keyboard arrangement. With Lucia's voice you can always here the passion and emotion in her music;It's no act, but reality ! Some fans or newcomers may not take a liking to her early pop stuff less we remember that the 80's (no matter what language) was full of "dance-candy music". Still, the other traditional gems hold up very well !...

2001 release from this fine Venezuelan Ska/Rock band. They have been together for 15 years and have become one of the most successful and talented bands in their genre. A few steps away from their straight up ska roots, this album by Venezuelan ensemble Desorden Publico (translates like Public Disorder) blends in latin elements, yielding a flavor-loaded production that will find you tapping your feet to the beat and dancing. The band's traditional sense of humor and sarcasm-loaded lyrics continue to be there, making the album every bit as fun to listen to as their previous works and a highly recommendable buy.

To Celebrate the tenth anniversary of their first recording, the Venezuelan Ska band Desorden Público revises the music they made from 1988 to 1990. This album features most of the tracks from their first two albums, plus many alternate versions, remixes, dubs, new versions, and live tracks. Everything was mixed or recorded anew. Still, it clearly captures their naive 2 tone roots, plus early excursions into funk, jazz and african rhythms. All in Spanish. These guys rule!

Desorden is one of my favorite bands ever. They are SKA with a twist of Caribbean flavor. Energetic, funky, and contagious! Desorden Público is a great mix of original sounds with intelligent lyrics. They are as exotic as the place where they came from, Venezuela. I recommend them to everyone. Don't miss it!

If you don't live in Venezuela you probably haven't heard Desorden Público's music. Desorden it's a Venezuelan Ska Group that have been around for almost 15 years. This CD is a remaster of they first two albums (Which you can only find in Some places of latin America) & is the best way to star your Desorden Collection. This is not only a compilation, all the songs have been remastered & some of them have been re-recorded for better sound, including their own version of The monster family tune (Lili es). Besides this album features 3 previusly unreleased song (Terroristas, calvo, & Jack), Great pictures & part of the Band history, all of it presented in an special package edition. If you are familiarized with the Ska movement in Venezuela you know what i'm talking about & if you ever have the chance to attend to a "Desorden Publico" concert PLEASE Don't miss it, they are as good as any other band of their Style. Remember "Desorden 'ta en la calle"
