Exceptional .......2005-11-06

Esteban is a gifted musician, combined with an equally outstanding group of bandmates. Seeing him in concert is a magical night. These two cd's show the incredible talent he and his band has. When you have Jesse McQuire in his band for this concert, you know the trumpet and guitar are going to sound superb together. I live in Arizona and have seen him and met him dozens of times and he gets better every year. I would also highly recommend his DVD concert "Esteban & Friends in Sedona" with Eugene Fodor and Ronan Tynan.

A Rockin' Live Album!.......2005-08-21

A very cool double CD! This is essential Esteban in concert. A blend of familiar covers ("Eleanor Rigby," "Nights In White Satin," and "Runaway") with original compositions like Esteban's signature piece, "Duende." There's something for everyone on this album. Esteban and his band are superb. I love the energy of this album!

Note: Don't be swayed by the one-star review preceding this one. To date, the only "reviews" Mr. Ospino has submitted to Amazon are for Esteban CD's: 11 IDENTICAL paragraphs in which he changed only the title. Need I say more?

No more Esteban cd's please!.......2004-12-22

STOP! Hey before you buy this cd, let me tell you something: This is not a Spanish Guitar player, not even a Spanish like one. This guy is just a begginer-like player, he's harmonically and technicaly handicapped. Somebody has to stop this guy. Tell him the truth: You can't play! I don't know what did he do to get his contract, but when i heard this cd, this came to me: He's the William Hung of the Guitar, that maybe learned to play with the AKORDES tuition software. An Experience In Moving Music.......2003-02-07

Esteban is at his best in front of a live audience, communicating some of the most moving, laid back music that I have ever heard in my life. This CD will cause you to long to see him and band live! They have that rare spark with the audience which makes music an experience.
The mix of flamenco, jazz and classical has a deeply spiritual feel, and while an incredible technician, Esteban's music comes straight from the heart and soul. I like to put this one on when the whole world seems uptight, give it a try!

Album Description

From the heart of the California delta The Universal Steve were born out of necessity. After teetering on the fringe of success with Chance the Gardner and the recently broken up Toadmortons lead singer songwriter Steve Bryant gathered his friends one weekend to play music and mess around in the recording studio he had just built. Realizing that they may actually have the making of a great band and the fact that everyone was named Steve, they recorded a few songs and before you knew it there was an album ready to go.

Another Hidden Gem.......2007-05-30

This is another good band recommended by my Pandora station. Describing music is always a challenge, so I'll give it my best shot. Mostly this album is lo-fi indie rock, pretty much quiet and sedate with no squealing guitars or any of that. It's more the album you put on when you want to relax, not when you want to dance. From start to finish it's consistently good without any cringe-inducing songs you have to skip. "Low" is my favorite so far as that's the first one I ever heard, but I'm sure I'll have some other favorites after I listen to it more. And believe me, I will be listening to it some more.
