5 out of 5 stars Delightful music from Shastro.......2007-04-10

I love Tantric Hearts by Shastro - but this album surpasses it. Great listening in the car, in the house, for meditation, background music at at gathering or during other pleasureable times. Enjoy!

3 out of 5 stars Mellow, relaxing.......2006-03-01

This is good music for relaxation, doing Tai Chi or Yoga, etc.
It turned out to be less exotic than I thought from listening to the excerpts. I am undecided on buying more by this artist.

5 out of 5 stars Wow!.......2002-12-29

I ordered this on the advise of a friend. What a relaxing CD. If you are looking for something that you can sit back in your recliner and forget about your troubles or something relaxing to drive to, don't pass up this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Shambala.......2000-06-29

I just love the soothing almost mystic sound of Shambala. It is wonderful to simply allow myself to drift with the gentle voices and the music. Often I use it too when I do body work and it supports my clients to relax without passing out. I liked the CD so much, that I bought several copies as gifts to share with my friends.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Let me review both the movie and this soundtrack with only 1 review........2006-05-04

I have watched this movie about 2 weeks ago, and I think it's excellent. So I watched it twice several days ago, then I was attracted by this movie, and I collected the DVD and its soundtrack.
This is the prettiest Japanese animation I've ever seen. I say it's pretty, it doesn't mean every aspect in this movie is excellent. The tableaux of this movie are colorful and delicate. Especially the tableaux that the armours climbed up from the ground, the purple light around them was very realistic, and the movement of the armours was very smooth. I think some 3D technology was added into these tableaux. At the last few plots of the movie, beside the flying machine, a purple alchemic circle appeared, it looked very magical, but it also seemed so realistic.
The characters is a great attraction of this movie, though there's hardly have new characters. At any rate, every old character performed excellent in this movie, especially Alphonse Elric, he was still so kind-hearted and cute, but grew much stronger, much braver and more powerful. And he resembled his elder brother Edward. And... Edward seemed grew much taller. ^^b And Winry Rockbell, Roy and other characters performed excellent too. My favorite character is the Alphonse that Edward met in the other world, but it's so sad that such a kind-hearted boy was killed in the end.
The story of this movie is good, but a little lamented in my opinion. That's why my heart couldn't be calm after I watched this movie. Well, the Elric brothers finally reunited, this is a great comfortableness to me. But I was very sorry for Winry, because she would never see Edward who she loved so much again. And I think all Elrics's friends would never forget these brothers, who were so strong and kind-hearted in their memories. Actually, I wish the door could be opened once again, and I wish all of them who loved each other could really reunited.
I think the soundtrack of this movie is good, one of the reasons is that it's substantial. There are 46 tracks in this soundtrack! Many of them are musical tracks from the movie, they are wonderful. And all of them are excellent and dramatic. Every time I listen to this. I can associate every track with the very plot it came up, and my frame of mind inside always changes with the music, or I can say the plot changes my frame of mind. This is really a movie and soundtrack which is filled with so much appeal.

5 out of 5 stars awsome movie.......2006-02-24

i thought this movie was pretty good, the only downside is that i saw this movie in japanese with english subtitle so it was a bit hard to catch what it was all about. but this movie is really good, it has it humor side, sad and believe or not gory side to.. the only thing i didn't like was how it ended. i totally suspected somthing else. but its still a really, really good movie!!!!!!!!

Kin Za Za's "Number One in Shambala" is an important album for anyone who's passionate about music and films. A splendidly listenable and watchable release proves that there is a lot more
to the obvious then meets the ear...IMMENSELY ENJOYABLE!

5 out of 5 stars Recording industry take notice.......2003-08-07

Smooth and elegant guitar rhythms and silky vocals blended to give a perfect set of 12 songs. This is what the recording industry forgot that music should be. Powerful music from start to finish. No mishaps. No overhyped marketing to overcome suspect quality.

The incredible production is a supplement to the music, not a cover-up of deficiencies. Move over Enya, say hello to this new Canadian duo on the scene.

"The River" clearly deserves a spot at the top of the charts with its infectious beat.

2 out of 5 stars Why the orchestra? Why not some originality?.......2005-07-13

Listening to this at a friends house just showed my why I wasn't buying this. I've heard the songs before , but better. Whoever thinks that the voices have improved with age must be suffering with something. It has nothing to do with the absence of Chuck Negron, it simply is a lacklustre attempt at re-hashing some old material, presumably to keep the band going, gig-wise, as 3DN were not prolific songwriters.
The production is good, the vocals are...well..there (as they should be from people who have been singing since the mid sixties). I winced when I heard the strained vocals on Joy To the World. 'Never Been to Spain' sounds like it was recorded in a Vegas nightclub-no passion, just the right notes in the right place.
My question is, what did this album achieve? Nothing. If they want to put a couple of originals on, then why didn't they go out and find some more?
The addition of the orchestra...well...c'mon, what's next? A '3DN sings Broadway Hits' or an album of standards, which seems to be the current trend, a la Phil Collins and Rod Stewart.
These guys can sing these songs in their sleep-trouble is-in my opinion, this collection sounds to me like they did.

3 out of 5 stars Okay, but not live..........2004-03-12

Maybe it was just me, but I thought this was a LIVE album. Instead, it's basically a studio recording of 3DN with an orchestra for arrangements. Not that it's all bad, but it seems to be basically the same 'ol 3DN songs with a large orchestra for intros and background. A lot of the familiar favorites ( with a couple of exceptions missing...ie. Eli's Coming) but still a good listen of the old favorites.

5 out of 5 stars Very Impressive!.......2002-09-08

Three Dog Night is back in their best form ever, Even without Chuck Negron they haven't lost a step. Perfect harmonies and a great performence from the LSO. If you are a TDN fan, then this is a must.

5 out of 5 stars WOW!.......2002-07-27

I've always been a TDN fan, but this time they've really out-done themselves! I am 100% impressed. Most guys tend to lose their voices as they get older---not these guys. The vocals sound better than ever (no coincidence that the weaker singer is no longer involved in the group). I hate to say it, but the tracks actually sound better without Chuck. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic new recording of some classic hits with the added texture of the London Symphony. It really brings the music to a whole new level. The two new cuts on the record ("Overground" and "Sault St. Marie") are just further proof that Cory & Danny still have an incredible knack for choosing strong material. Congratulations guys on a beautiful album---I recommend it HIGHLY to anyone and everyone that enjoys real music.

1 out of 5 stars Maybe one day.......2002-07-20

Maybe one day this band will be what it once was. Three Dog Night will never be the same without Chuck Negron. You can fluff it up all you want-- it just doesn't work.

Should you listen to Chuck's new live cd, you will definitely see he does not need the London Symphony.

Hey Danny and Cory, when are all of you going to put things behind you and reunite. You need to grab your spot in Rock & Roll and re-gain your place in history.

There should be a secong coming. DON'T YOU THINK??

5 out of 5 stars To enlighten your soul.......2007-01-09

Many do not know of Kin Za Za, but they are an amazing pair. Her voice is quite mesmerizing and the music and lyrics will smooth you. The double disk is great, as you can see their music videos on the DVD and this is great! I highly suggest purchasing this item!

5 out of 5 stars Revelational album.......2003-11-20

Kin Za Za is more then a band - it's the first glimps of a future movement that's about to land on our planet. These songs, created by my favorite angels (read: greatest musicians) and play an important part in my life. The album is divided into a series of discrete messages that are well translated into music videos on the DVD. If you want to be freed from the constrains of "real time" then this product is for you. Kin Za Za is terrific and gives to the world ONE BIG HEART.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful.......2003-11-03

Wonderful melodies, beautiful singing, great lyrics. I first heard an interview with the members of Kin Za Za on NPR and only got a snipit sampling ofthe music but as I was driving I scribbled down the name and title of the album - I'm SO glad I took the leap based on that quick NPR interview and the other reviews listed here on Amazon because this is one cool group! Its a little new-age-ish, a bit jazzy, and yes, the singer's voice is a bit like Enya or Basia but the music is different. It has a light airy texture at times, at others it grips you and makes you want to dance. Really neat music.

5 out of 5 stars SUPERB ALBUM.......2003-10-15

Just got this when it came out Oct 1.Fantastic!!! recommend it alot!... takes awhile to grow on you. Kind of a futuristic Sarah McLachlan sound in a lot of places. Very eclectic, but damn there are some gems on this album. Standouts are "The River", "Story" and The "Mirror" are just an INCREDIBLE songs. Everything from the lyrics to the music to the production.

4 out of 5 stars Tenderness and Power.......2003-10-08

"Number One in Shambala" is a superb album, and KIN ZA ZA make it look and sound as easy as breathing. This is an astonishing piece of music in which acoustic instruments effortlessly blend with hi-tech wizardry...
Confirmed by this album as masters of production and songwriting, KIN ZA ZA give an impression that they are still absorbing styles, still searching, still flexing, still looking for that special KIN ZA ZA signiture.

Once you have this you fall in love for it....

5 out of 5 stars "The indispensable CD".......2002-03-04

Bars has started being like our homes, or rather our dreams' homes and have stopped looking for special effects and taking their selves as theirs own model.
In these homes that are naive and refined at the same time, we would like to live, to lean ourselves on the table for a cocktail every night, to sit down to table and to eat with friends.

In these modern and comfortable bars you can spend pleasant nights and ask for hospitality after an hard day and you can meet interesting people that could be careful, sometimes bored (it's quite impossible to be always perfect...) but surely in search of something.
These are places with a precise identity reflected in furnishings, in the selection of food, in service manners and in the role of music that is an essential element that complete words, smoke, bits of food and draught of wine.

Shambala is two years old and comes out of the simple idea of creating a place liveable as an house. Without the rhythms of "forced to pleasure" that are characteristic of competitors. This invite to take it easy and to take our own times comes out from candle lighting and from the arcade with an exotic garden with Balinese beds on which you can eat crouched.
The ambient takes inspiration from the Asian south east and is refined but not ethnic; service is kind and relaxed and music amuses without disturbing conversations.

From this Asian ambient that is situated at the end of a well known Milanese street was born the idea of creating a compilation able either to express the taste of the typical atmospheres of this place, or to introduce to a music that represents these times.
You can call it chill out, ambient or electronic; it doesn't matter how you call it, what's important is that this music, different from traditional song and instruments and free from any kind of formal tie, is able to give new colours and new shapes to everything surrounds us .

It's not easy and proper to define "Shambala daedalus" in musical terms even because this music doesn't need any kind of definition. Suffused beats, ample use of electronic, manipulations, sonorous cut&paste, ethnic and ambient excursions, jazz contaminations, techno, dub, d'n'b; these are some of the elements present in this work's compositions. This work reflects a soundscape that everybody knows and that is able to evoke images of places such as airports, bars, shops, expositions, taxi ride, talk with friends.

There's something to say even about the album that contains two Walkner & Mostl tracks ("Down" and "Heaven or hell"), label G-Stone (Kruder & Dorfmeinster)prestigious brand, besides Index Id's "Spektral" and the final Noe Elle's "Silent storm". These are completely integrated in the musical collection arranged beforehand the original compositions, indeed they testify a common way to feel music without any limit.
