Great for relaxing and unwinding, or maybe to heat things up a bit with your preferred someone! It's in high rotation in my home jukebox for decompressing after work, or staying mellow in traffic. The last track, so meditative and loving, is my favorite. Well worth a listen.

I have several CD's from the Intentcity label. I love them all. They are relaxing, sexy, but not sleepy. Good mixes from different artists. If you like the Buddha Lounge series or Cafe de Luna CD's, you'll like this one and Intentcity's other stuff too.

"I just had the pleasure of purchasing Lovers Lounge the other day. God, I just love it! I love the beats, the intermix of all the different sounds. My favorite is Masala: Sri Mookambika. Thank you so much for this kind of music. It really makes my day."

If you have not heard anything about this cd and you really NEED and WANT to pick up some music that will just take you into another dimension, Lovers Lounge is ecstatic and will just do that. Hypno sexy grooves by great artists and a flowing consistency cannot get much better than this. I heard this music playing in a yoga class in Chicago and was just transformed as the flow was great for practice and then savasana. I had to inquire who it was and found out it was a compilation of different artists that just all blend so naturally from track to track. I hope this music can be shared with lovers of great music.

5 out of 5 stars The Very Best!.......2006-05-08

When I joined a popular record club in 1963, this was among the first five LPs that I selected. It is most difficult to say anything meaningful considering the overall quality of of this CD, because it is surely the very best of Percy Faith. This was the first example I ever encountered of a pop orchestra that actually made popular sixties music "beautiful." What magnificent orchestration, interpretation, and stereo quality. It is simply matchless, and "I will follow Him" is the epitome of Percy Faith's mastery!

5 out of 5 stars The unforgetable sound of Percy Faith.......2004-11-08

This is a 1963 best Seller with the best recordings of Percy Faith.
Songs like "Go Away Little Girl", "Our Day Will Come", "Theme for Young Lovers", and Others will bring to you great memories, I`m sure of this.

5 out of 5 stars The Most Great Record of Percy Faith.......2004-11-08

I hear this record in 1964 in a Mexico City restaurant and I remember the great sound of Percy Faith and his Orchestra, now I have the oportunity of listen again with a great digital sound, for me its his best album.

5 out of 5 stars BEST EASY LISTENING MUSIC.......2002-08-24

I USE TO LISTEN TO EASY LISTENING MUSIC ON A CERTAIN FM RADIO STATION IN CHICAGO BACK IN THE 80'S. A GOOD NUMBER OF SONGS THAT I LIKED WERE PERFORMED BY THE PERCY FAITH ORCHESTRA (AND CHORUS).FOUR OF THEM ARE ON THIS ONE CD ("RHYTHM OF THE FALLING RAIN", "ALL ALONE AM I", "UP ON THE ROOF" & "THEMES FOR YOUNG LOVERS"). I DIDN'T REALIZE TILL THEN JUST HOW MUCH OF AN IMPACT PERCY FAITH HAD ON EASY LISTENING MUSIC.

5 out of 5 stars Who told'ya commercial music cannot get your ears plugged?!.......2002-04-07

This is a master of easy listening. The formula is "get a selection of now sound from the 60s" + "make personal well crafted arrangements". Mr.Faith was a master in violin-based arrangements and he was particularly inspired here on this 60s album. "Go away Little Girl" by Carole King and the title song by Faith himself are particularly pleasant tracks. This was music from my teens and this has been music I have listened to up to now.

Album Description

GET DOWN WITH THE DICKNESS!

America's loudest lounge singer Richard Cheese is back in black tie with "TUXICITY," an all-new CD featuring kooky lounge-style covers of rock hits. With his swingin' Lounge Against The Machine band, the finger-snapping, liquor-lapping, night-capping crooner turns a round of rock songs into traditional pop vocal standards.

Yes, it's the perfect mix of music, martini, and madcap as Dick delivers shaken and stirring Vegas versions of popular hits like "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot, "She Hates Me" by Puddle Of Mudd, "Chop Suey" by System Of A Down, "Shake Ya Ass" by Mystikal, and "Hot For Teacher" by Van Halen. From The White Stripes to White Zombie, from Linkin Park to Cypress Hill, from Guns 'N Roses to Britney Spears, "TUXICITY" is a "fromage homage" to the biggest names in music.

5 out of 5 stars SImply awesome!!!!!!!.......2007-04-14

Richard Cheese is the ___________ man. He did the unthinkable, make a _______ song like YOu Drive me Crazy by Britanny Spears into a great song!!! Weird, but cool. ANd this is not a novelty band either, you know, when a _____head with a dinky keyboard puts a premade beat (that dosen't even sound musical) with weak notes. It's real. Seriously though, the piano, bass, drums, a real lounge jazz band. No fake bull_____.

DOn't be fooled with the list. Even though Disturbed, Sir-Mix-Alot, Spears suck _____, Lounge Against The Machine does it well. A parody album that isn't total ______, the music is so great, you'll just want the songs themselves. IT does sounds like the song, but with real talented playing instead of the _____ guitars and _______ computer beats (not countring the great songs from Toots and the.... White Stripes, etc.)

IT's got some humor in it too. But LATM relies on making it actually sound good. There is also alot of great songs NOT on this album, so if you wants more after th is, get the other ones!reccomended for anybody who isn't a closeminded rock fanatic or a stupid _______r who listens to D4L. Remember though, I do like some of the artists to begin with, while some are _________ gay.

PS: Lounge Jazz is that jazz in places like Vegas. Fast, lot's of piano, something you would here in a club on the strip. SOunds good? Then this album is for you.

4 out of 5 stars Interesting.......2006-03-02

I will go through the various stages that my mind catapulted through while listening to the various songs on this album.

First and foremost, utter shock at what this album actually is. A collection of lounge covers of some of the weirdest, hardest, and most shocking rock, rap, and...Britney Spears??? This is absolutely the worst idea I've ever heard of! Now don't get me wrong, I've heard of Richard Cheese before. This isn't the first time I've been graced with that name. I guess I just never had an excuse to force myself before. The songs were too short, too varied, and there was no possible way he could actually expect people to take him seriously.

But of COURSE not. That's the whole point, right? Now I'll focus on the instrumentation. It is typical jazz fare, no real spark or anything of real mention. Well, they DO manage to capture the point and essence of just about every song they do musically. That is rather uncanny. I mean, consider "Chop Suey". They pretty much nailed every aspect of that song. And in less time than the original, no less. I am vascillating between complete awe and complete disgust.

His voice is nothing spectacular. Again, typical jazz fare. But what he can do with his voice and the music with these songs is, again, rather impressive. I have *never* liked "Fell In Love With A Girl", but his rendition is both easy to listen to and easy to understand, which has always been an issue with White Stripes, in my opinion.

And now I talk about song choice. With "Chop Suey" and "Fell In Love With A Girl", he was lucky. I mean, those songs had something going for them and he picked up on that. But..."Shake Ya Ass"??? I really have to question someone's credibility, opting to turn songs like that, and other rap songs, into lounge songs. I found myself, instead of laughing, cringing at the utter horridness that is his rather loyal lyrical transition from thumping hip-hop to smooth lounge. But then something occurred to me. If you listen to those songs enough, the true meaning of them comes through with the subtlety of a flying brick. Just how horrid are those lyrics anyway? Everyone accepted them in the context of the original song, but transplanted overtop a jazz band just exposes them for what they really are. True accounts of pop culture. And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is where the true genius of Richard Cheese is. He has the ability to strip down everything that makes a song popular and expose it for the trite farce it truly is. "Down With the Sickness" may be a fun song, but in no way is it lyrically intriguing or intelligent. The same follows for the majority of those songs. In fact, Richard Cheese even comments on it with the beginning of "Crazy", Britney Spears' tune, when he says that Britney is a true artist. If anyone should ever listen to this album, it is because of what it says. And what it says is pure lyrical dumbness.

I give this album a nice big B.

4 out of 5 stars Music to drink codeine cough syrup by........2005-10-10

Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine have done the obvious, obviously. While not strictly as bad as William (Bill) Murry's obnoxious lounge act, nor as over-the-top as the late Andy Kaufman's Tony Clifton persona, `Richard Cheese' keeps his performance within the character's velvet rope guidelines, and instead minimizes and only slightly deconstructs the classic lounge song. This is neither Sinatra nor Bennet, nor is it your little brother doing a bad imitation of them. This is serious lounge, yet alternative. Like waking from a familiar dream, Richard Cheese's renditions are still recognizable, yet obviously something "other", and yet as pure as the originals.

Richard Cheese and Lounge Against The Machine, therefore, are not tribute creators in another style, like Dred Zepplin, for they are members of their genre. They also are not a joke on the genre within the genre, as was the lamented "Nig Heist" within the touring "Black Flag" shows of the early 80s. Neither do they make `lounge' more `lounge' with overproduction, digital techniques, and rich strings. Indeed, minimalism and limited range are the bywords. Or perhaps it is driven by a small production budget.

And the obvious question must be answered: is Richard Cheese "Cheesy?" Only in the sophomoric dimensions of a joke as obvious as a goiter, where we cry out "Dick Cheese!" in the same breath that we call "Mike Hunt!" over a smoky crowd of strapless cocktail dresses, and elicit a few titters. Cheesy, yes, but the music does compel repeated listening, like Alex Chilton covering "More" with Bobby Darrin's shade speaking through the whisky, there is something there, there.

But Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine are not cocktail classics to spin when you have the smoking jacket on and the new recruits from the secretary pool dropping by your place after the show, for this lounge set speaks more to the `cocktails made with codeine' set of cool.

And yes, I am dying to know what Sir-Mix-A-Lot thinks of this version of "Baby Got Back."

5 out of 5 stars For those who like their pop with extra cheese.......2005-08-19

This is one of the funniest CDs I have ever heard. Some may consider this album insulting to the original artists, but Cheese's "loungization" of each is so perfect that one has to appreciate the time and effort put into the process. All Cheese albums are technically parodies, but each song is done with such style and precision that it comes off as more of a quirky, left-handed homage to the bands he covers. This is for those (like me) who love heavy, "alternative" bands, and who don't take their music--or themselves--too seriously.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD!!!!!.......2004-12-16

If you've ever listened to the music of Percy Faith, then this is a must for you. I've recently purchased this CD a few months ago. One of my favorite arrangements on this CD include Feelin' Groovy, Yellow Days, There's A Kind of Hush, Music of the Night, Release Me, and many more. Percy's orchestra and backup singers really make this CD a delightful one to listen to. I've taken a trip up to New Jersey in November & listening to this CD along the way up is so relaxing. If I were you, this would make a great Christmas present.

5 out of 5 stars Excelente CD.......2004-09-24

5 out of 5 stars "The Percy Faith Touch is in full swing!".......2003-07-05

Following the formula of previous Columbia Record releases ~ they've come up with two more winners for Percy Faith "Today's Themes For Young Lovers" and "For Those In Love", featuring the classic style of sweeping strings that can only spell "Percy Faith" and a haunting of singers. Take for instance the opening track "THE 59TH STREET RIDGE SONG (FEELIN' GROOVY)", from Paul Simon this popular tune gives Maestro Faith a challenge and meet it with flying colors he does ~ "THERE'S A KIND OF HUSH(ALL OVER THE WORLD)", great lyrics with a melody to match, my of the all time favorites during the '60s ~ "CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU", outstanding arrangement on this catchy tune that the Faith Chorus puts their signature on .

Second half of the album features two Hal David & Burt Bacharach tunes "THE LOOK OF LOVE" and "I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER", there wasn't any two bigger hits during those years and the "Percy Faith Touch" sprinkles it's magic over the orchestration, simply unforgettable ~ "GOIN' OUT OF MY HEAD", is truly a Faith gem, when this came out I played this track over and over again and again, couldn't get enough and I'm still under its spell ~ gotta love it!

Total Time: 64:47 on 22 Tracks ~ Collectables 7429 ~ (1/22/2002)

5 out of 5 stars "top film scores of the 1960's ~ Percy Faith".......2004-02-18

If you are a collector of Percy Faith, you must run out to your local music store and pick this one up ~ "Plays The Academy Award Winner Born Free and Other Great Movie Themes" (originally released on Columbia Records CS 9450 in 1967) and "Windmills of Your Mind" (originally released on Columbia Records CS 9835 in 1969) ~ following the formula of previous Columbia Records releases featuring Faith's classic style of sweeping strings and haunting arrangements, they've come up with two more winners.

Master of arranging, Faith's formula is so natural in keeping the arrangements fresh and new with his distinctive style ~ his tasteful treatment always highlights the quality of the composition ~ ultimately making them a hit all over again. Remember the days when you could turn on the radio and hear Percy Faith with many familiar pop standards ~ when you put this compact disc on your player, get ready for the "Percy Faith Touch" sprinkled with pure magic over the orchestration and leaves you simply in that unforgettable mood.

5 out of 5 stars Perhaps the Best "Two-Fer" Ever!.......2006-07-08

With so many utterly fantastic Percy Faith reissue choices available, it is most difficult to single out a "two-fer" release that stands out above all others, but this could very well be "it!" These are two of his very finest albums ever, and to have them offered in a set is gratifying to say the very least.

Percy Faith is simply "the" orchestral artist who could consistently take the popular songs of the sixties, for example, and present them as a veritable symphony! You do not have to be a "Percy Faith lover" to thoroughly enjoy these masterfully beautiful recordings; just a music lover, folks.

His treatments of the Lenny Welch hit, "Since I Fell For You," Bobby Vee's "Forget Him," and Dionne Warwick's "Anyone Who had a Heart" are indeed symphonic, and his renditions of "The Lonely Bull" and "Spanish Harlem" are the best versions ever!

Simply put, this is one of those rare collections that easily justify at least six stars!!

5 out of 5 stars "Antonio Carlos Jobim & Percy Faith arrangments".......2003-07-02

Reminiscing back to the early to mid '60s we find several outstanding albums by Percy Faith ~ two of which have found their place on this double album CD ~ "More themes For Young Lovers/Latin Themes For Young Lovers" all with the "Percy Faith Touch" we have grown to love over the years. If it's strings you crave and a few of today's top hits in a lush instrumental version then this is the place.

Over an hour of stand outs ~ "ANYONE WHO HAD A HEART", "WIVES AND LOVERS" and "BLUE ON BLUE", three great standards by the composing team of Hal David and Burt Bacharach ~ "UM, UM, UM, UM, UM, UM", the great Curtis Mayfield tune with highlights of plunking strings and percussion. Might make mention the track "JUDY", composed by Percy Faith, later came out as "Christmas Is", became a wonderful Holiday Classic we hear during the Christmas Season.

Let's take a trip down to South America with "THE LONELY BULL", a Sol Lake composition originally was made a hit by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, but listen to this brilliant arrangement by Percy and picture the countryside as you listen to the hovering strings ~ "ONE NOTE SAMBA", "HOW INSENSITIVE (INSENSATAEZ)", "NO MORE BLUES (CHEGA DE SAUDADE)", "QUIET NIGHTS OF QUIET STARS (CORCOVADO)", "SOMEONE TO LIGHT UP MY LIFE (SE TODOS FOSSEM IGUAIS A VOCE)" and "THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA (GAROTA DE IPANEMA)"all composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim reaching new heights and all because of the performances of Percy and the guys in his fabulous orchestra ~ gotta love it!

5 out of 5 stars PERCY FAITH - THE KING OF EASY LISTENING MUSIC.......2003-03-02

ONCE AGAIN THIS CD SHOWS HOW PERCY FAITH TOOK SOME HO HUM POPULAR HITS AND TURNED THEM INTO BEAUTIFUL EASY LISTENING SONGS. SONGS LIKE "YOU DON'T OWN ME", AND "POPSICLES & ICICLES". AND I LOVE THE SONG "JUDY". I ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE AN EXCUSE TO PLAY "CHRISTMAS IS" ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. AND AGAIN BACK IN THE DAYS WHEN FM RADIO HAD EASY LISTENING STATIONS ON THE AIR, SONGS LIKE THE ONES ON THIS CD WERE PLAYED ON THOSE STATIONS. IT'S NICE HAVING THE PLEASURE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THEM ANY TIME YOU WANT.

5 out of 5 stars Relaxing Music.......2002-03-17

This is one of my favorite cds by Mr Faith.Although not as heavily orchestrated as the Shangri la album it still sounds
good.More Themes contains such music as You Don't Own Me,
I'll Take You Home,Judy(which sounds like a instrumental
version of Christmas Is)and my favorite Forget Him as well
as Blue On Blue,Icecicles and popsicles,Sugar Shack and others.
Latins Themes contains Spanish Eyes,Something to remember her
by,One Note Samba,Theirs always something to remind me and more.
Liner notes for either albums arn't included and it's a shame
because I also have both of these on lp as well and the lps
have the notes. The cd it self sounds great. The sound is clear
and pristine with stereo sound on More Themes.Latin Themes
for some reason isn't as loud meaning you may have to turn
the volume up a little but it still sounds good with stereo.
You can tell a slight difference in sound between
the first and second album when you get to the second.
I'm glad collectibes finally decided to release these
albums on cd and now that I have them I'm hoping to see
American Seranade released sometimes this year, this album
is similer to Shangri la meaning it is very lushly orchestrated
with heavy strings.

I was fortunate enough to have Charlie playing for an event in Las Vegas where I met him and got a copy of his work. He is a truly amazing artist and I enjoy listening to his music. Thanks Charlie!

5 out of 5 stars A technical masterpiece.......1999-10-15

I bought this CD after hearing one track on my local FM station. It is beautifully arranged (as good as Don Costa's best) and perfectly executed. The selection of melodies is also perfect. On a scale of 1 to 10 this disc rates a 12! WOW!!

5 out of 5 stars I never get tired of this latin music and the artist who.......1998-10-20

plays it in a contempory style. Always makes me want to get up and dance---rhumba, cha-cha, mambo, samba, or whatever!

5 out of 5 stars You couldn't ask for better music.......1998-10-20

The music is great and the artist makes the old familiar tunes come alive and you want to dance. We never tire of listening to the music and wish we could find more CD's by Mr. Shaffer.

4 out of 5 stars Groovy baby.......2003-08-01

This is one weird cd. Take old classic rock songs and run them through the lounge-maching / bossa nova. Somehow it works out very well. Very smooth, very soothing, very tongue in cheek - definitely not too corny or cheesey. Throw it on and watch people's odd expressions!

5 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!.......2002-05-25

Breakthrough CD!!! A MUST HAVE FOR ANY TRUE MUSIC LOVER. THIS BEAUTIFUL FUSION OF OLD TUNES WITH A MODERN OLD TWIST WILL LEAVE YOU BREATHLESS AND WONDERING HOW YOU LIVED THIS LONG WITHOUT IT IN YOUR COLLECTION...
MY WIFE AND I PUT THIS ON AFTER A LONG DAY OF WORK AND LISTEN PEACEFULLY WHILE EATING OUR JELLO THROUGH A STRAW. IT'S LIKE PUDDING TO THE EARS! RELEASE YOUR MIND FROM THE BONDAGE OF BONDAGES THAT HOLD YOUR MIND IN BONDAGE. LOOSEN THOSE BUCKLES ON YOUR JACKET OR POLITELY ASK THE NURSE TO DO IT FOR YOU.
HEY, TAKE A LITTLE TIME FOR YOURSELF AND ANSWER THOSE VOICES IN YOUR HEAD THAT WANT YOU TO... WHAT WAS THAT? HEY, HOW DID YOU PEOPLE GET IN MY HEAD?
MUST FIND THE TIN FOIL HAT!!!
