I love this cd. It is very relaxing. I was listening to it while I was surfing the internet and several times I fell asleep and didn't even know it. Some how I would wake up and try to stay awake but, everytime within seconds I was fast asleep again. I am a very high strung person and this is the only cd that I have actually found that puts me to sleep.

The music of Merlin's Magic (aka Andreas Mock) is a shimmering, cryptic blend of acoustic instruments and electronica. The undercurrents are electronic--drones, atmospheres, and delicately synthesized tones that tinkle and resonate with spacey, New Age magic. But the addition of acoustic instruments - flutes, strings, gongs, bowls, even saxophone - gives these compositions a warm, approachable, down-to-earth quality - the perfect combination. What is most striking about this music is how interesting it is to listen to--always growing and changing, allowing new motifs and new instrumental voices to fade in and out, blending one into the other above a stable, unified ground. Some New Age music transports its listeners merely by boring them into somnolence; Merlin's Magic is transporting for a far better reason--the constant evolution of the music encourages you to let your imagination wander, visualizing transformations in your own body and soul (which is of course the key to getting such changes to actually occur!). Very effective, and perfect for Reiki, massage and other gentle healing modalities. Merlin's Magic has a number of other releases in a similar vein, including "Chakra Meditation Music." Other albums I have always found good for Reiki and other alternative healing modalities are Kim Robertson's "Angels in Disguise" and "Gratitude" (the latter is with Virginia Kron on cello), and anything by Dean Evenson or Hilary Stagg.

touch has never been lighter with this music. i'm using it for my massages and everybody including me love the flowing melody.

Not only musically sophisticated and gorgeously produced, the piece as a whole is a deepening of Demby's important work to new heights. At least initially, we could not help but to be reminded of the well-known Requiems by Faure and Durufle. But 'Sanctum' sets the standard for sacred symphonic space music for the new millennium reaching realms not possible prior to this work. Finally, electronic music technology has caught up with Demby's compositional genius to produce a benchmark that transcends the genre.

Most Gentle and Relaxing.......2004-07-11

I recd the Healing Touch CD as a present. I enjoyed it so much that I have bought several of the CDs as gifts for friends. It is the most gentle and relaxing CD. I use it to calm myself as I drift off to sleep. And, if I am having an anxious day, I will lie down and let the gentle sounds just wash over me and help me to calm my breathing. It is a magnificent CD. It would be a great gift for yourself or for a friend.

Nadama's Swansong(s).......2003-02-28

This is by far the best relaxing CD I have EVER listened to. Healing Touch is Nadama's swansong(s). My big burly brother-in-law was visiting while this CD was playing and he said "Oh, I have to have that CD! That is NICE". The yoga-meditative-veil-of-hush that Healing Touch inspires is awesome listening. Play this one along with another great CD: Liquid Mind's Slow World.
Both should be played cautiously while operating heavy machinery!

Wonderful Soothing Instumental Rifts.......2002-11-01

I heard this at one of my Yoga classes, and loved the soft orchestral sound and style. If you are looking for gentle piano music (with some harp, flute and strings) to do Yoga to or simply relax with, then I highly recomend you try this album.

Shajan is back with another amazingly serene follow up release on Sequoia Records.
His previous release has been a CD I use regularly in my own heaing practice and this new release "The Healing Touch" provides the perfect, incredibly gentle and relaxing aural landscape to sink into for ultimate relaxation. It's so easy to just drift away into blissful serenity with these four new tracks providing over an hour of music that exactly fits the bill for any massage or other healing arts sessions.

Chi is breath or vital energy. Like a soft breeze, invisible until we see it ripple the still waters of a pond, chi can be felt but not captured. When chi is strong, our body energy is powerful. Without it, we become like an unfed pond. The body will stagnate.

As children, we naturally have an abundance of chi. We observe young children tumbling, rolling around, bouncing with glee, as though their bones were of rubber, legs eternally powered springs and eyes bright as twinkling stars. In a word, they are full of chi, or vital energy. As our lives mature, it is not the supply of chi that becomes diminished but rather the accumulated layers of stress, pain and disappointment that manifest as blockages in our physical form. We can easily become tight and rigid after years of fending off troubles, rather than aligning with nature, sitting by a stream and blending with the natural course of the water. Not everyone has access to a gently flowing stream but fortunately most of us do have access to both massage and the appropriate music to enhance it.

Through his practice of t'ai chi, qi gong, energy work, feng shui and sound therapy, masterful musician Sayama has meticulously crafted this flow of music to help us relax and free ourselves of accumulated layers of stress that block our flow of chi, or vital energy, thereby enhancing wellness and creativity.

Touch is the essence of massage therapy, which helps the body heal itself and contributes to a greater sense of well-being. Studies have shown that some of the benefits of massage include reduced heart rate, lowered blood pressure, relief from stress, a strengthened immune system, decreases in depression, pain and anxiety and an enhanced capacity for calm thinking and creativity. I should have looked elsewhere. I should have bought a product with a product description. At the time I got this, there wasn't one. Well, let me provide it. It's full of not-so-good sound captures that you could probably do better on your home PC.

wonderful and relaxing..........2001-12-07

I recently bought this CD and a massage table and set up a room of total relaxation in my home for myself and my spouse. It was one of the best ideas we have ever had. Turn off the lights, light a couple of candles, play this CD and give each other body massages with lightly scented oils and I guarantee you and your lover will grow closer. This CD is necessary in my opinion. It totally relaxes me and I find myself listening to it without the massage. It makes me feel peaceful and happy and brings out a lot of pent up emotion. The first time I listened to this CD and had a massage I cried. Don't ask me, but it felt wonderful. Try it...
