1 out of 5 stars ATTENTION Jim Carrey and other depression sufferers.......2007-07-31

Why don't you try Blue Oyster Cult, Gypsy,Nuada,or almost any other neo Pagan music rather than touting the destruction of women, through the white man's rape music?
You are right, this is yet more Christian music advocating the continued murder rap(e) and mutilation of women for the entertainment of men, which is what the Big Three Male God religions are based on and why the Earth is almost in ruins, as She is plundered and raped and used by men and their selfish purposes, and their never ending wars of pointless religious fundamentalism.
Return to the Mother religion, the Paganism of old, before it is too late - return to woman worship, it is what you really need and want, confused men, like Jim Carrey. Stop singing the never ending songs that are all alike -
and are going to mean the death of the Earth and all her children, and begin
singing the songs of life, which do include death, as it is a PART OF LIFE,naturally - not some sick aberration - to be celebrated and accepted as a natural part of life, like sex, joy birth pain and all parts of life.
NO matter what our gender, orientation, we are all spirits in flesh, and this life is finite, so enjoy it for what it is, do not make it into something it is not- yes, you are right Jim, if you want out, then leave, and become another life form already, but don't keep selling your sadism to the youth - otherwise celebrate what you have. Go to the sacredgrove if you wish to learn more
high and mighty men.
Take good care of your acacia tree. Constant death songs will bring permanent death to the Earth, our Mother.
Women of the sacredgrove.

5 out of 5 stars Wholesome Christian music.......2007-05-16

One look at the beatiful artwork on the cover of the CD and you'll know your in for some beatiful touching music. Even just reading the song titles such as [...]and you'll understand how touching their music truely is. Here are some of their lyrics "I came blood inside of her chocking on the clot gagging on the snot gushing blood, from her mouth bloody gel leaking out Body buried in a shallow grave Unmarked for none to find The sickness I have left behind Undetected go my crimes The greatest thrill of my life" Absolute poetry, (Sniff sniff) It truely brings a tear to my eyes. And the music itself is so comforting and soothing. It's hard to believe that any man can write music so beatiful, and so touching. But I have to warn you, some people out there won't like the Christian overtones in their music, but most people love it.

4 out of 5 stars GREAT ALBUM!!.......2007-05-02

The guitar is amazing the vocals are the best I've ever heard. I really feel like banging some dead bodies after listening to this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Sick.......2007-04-18

I love Cannibal Corpse and bands that do this kind of music. Cannibal Corpse seem to do better with George Fisher then Chris Barnes on vocals at least. I know, I know and I love Chris Barnes. This album is probably one of the sickest cds of all time. I LOVE IT! The vocals are a bit hard to understand but if you listen enough, you can hear them just fine. A great cd and one of my faviorte bands.

5 out of 5 stars ULTIMATE PRIMITIVE BRUTALITY.......2007-03-01

This one and The Bleeding I consider the best of Chris Barnes. Barnes had (his vocals nowadays are sort of f'd in my opinion) one of the most unique death growls, and the most non-human sounding and bestial by far I think. It seems that on The Bleeding his growl was already starting to falter, but on this one it is solid. I don't care if sometimes he's off time just a little, which is one thing he gets criticized for; I think it actually adds a certain something, like a sub-human beast trying to keep time and not giving all that much care if it is spot on like a friggin' anal-retentive perfectionist in a white lab coat would. Death metal is primitive tribal music, not science. The music isn't so overly technical as alot of DM bands, which makes it more brutal. Compared to Butchered at Birth, the release before this, the music here is more developed, and the drums aren't constant snare "bap-bap-bap-bap-bap-bap-bap-bap". If you are a fan of Barnes' inhuman vocal quality, check out the first Disgorge album "Cranial Impalement" (this band is very brutal as well), or Demilich, who only has one release.

5 out of 5 stars The Epitome of Death Metal.......2006-02-14

This album was pretty much my introduction to the world of death metal. I had heard death metal before in small snippets but dismissed it as noise. It wasn't until I watched 'Ace Ventura' and saw Cannibal Corpse playing 'Hammer Smashed Face' that I actually became interested. A friend of a friend then copied this album for me and I was hooked. For me this album epitomizes what death metal is about: fast, heavy, gory lyrics, unexpected tempo and time changes, nearly atonal at times, cookie monster vocals, complex multipart songs, etc. The album is engrossing from start to finish. It only lags a little in some of the latter tracks and thus I give the album 4.5 stars instead of 5. The album is full of Cannibal classics such as 'Hammer Smashed Face', 'I Cum Blood' and 'Addicted to Vaginal Skin'. This album is not for the feint of heart. Musically it's brutal from start to finish (though there is plenty of musicality to keep it interesting) and they lyrics are probably the most disgusting and vile things ever put to tape. If you have any interest in the death metal genre or Cannibal Corpse in particular you NEED this album. After this (or before) I suggest you pick up their follow-up 'The Bleeding'

5 out of 5 stars A good piece of music.......2006-01-20

When I first heard this album through the cruddy 30 second clips on Amazon... I thought this would be a horrible CD. But, as I got to listen to more and more of Barnes deathly growls (such as those on Butchered at Birth), I decided that this could not be too bad. I was right.

The riffs are pretty catchy, and the lyrics are awesome. I know a lot of people say that on this album Barnes cannot be understood at all... but then again... it's difficult to understand ANY death metal album the first time one hears it. All it takes is time. The hit songs on this album are Hammer Smashed Face (of course), Addicted to (you know what), and Entrails Ripped from a (you know what). The additional live version of I (you know what) is pretty good... shows CC's talent at a concert.

The one thing I miss about Barnes being CC's vocalist is that on most of the other albums, Fisher seems to just make brief, death metal vocal snaps, instead of the full length growls. For some reason (I know many will not agree), but the Barnes longer, deeper vocals are much more pleasant to the ear than Fisher's sharp, hyperactive vocals. While they may be a lot more understandable the first time one hears it than Barnes's vocals on Tomb, it still sounds like he's just doin' a whole run on sentence.

Now, I am sure that by now all of Fisher's supporter's readin' this album are saying, "What the hell is this guy talking about? Fisher rocks!..." And they're probably all going to be waiting outside my front doorstep to dismember me. But, before they take that step, hear me out. Fisher is indeed a great vocalist... I mean I haven't bought all the CC albums with him on it for nothing. One of his side projects, Paths of Posession, shows his real high points of vocalism... mostly its the deep, deathly growl we all know and love. Album is definetly a lot more melodic... but Fisher's fans should love it all the same. And if they don't? TOO BAD.... you chose to buy the album.

What the world seems to forget these days is that music is based all on opinion. Sure, it's easy to get online and write a review and just bash the hell out of a band because YOU think it sucks... but then again... YOU aren't the only person in the world... there's over a billion more. And, I strongly doubt that over a billion people in the world will agree with one review. Hell, I know they won't agree with mine. Point aside, if you don't like a piece of music... don't rave about how stupid they are... or if you do like it... don't glorify it by denouncin' other bands. Music is all an opinion... it isn't a law. One man's Cannibal Corpse may be horrible to another's ears, but it's beautiful to him. So, please, don't bash the music... just enjoy it.

AND DON'T DOWNLOAD MUSIC ILLEGALLY! MUSIC ARTISTS HAVE A LIFE JUST LIKE US... AND MAKIN' MUSIC ISN'T FREE IN THIS LIFE! BUY A CD!

Thank you for botherin' to read my opinions.

5 out of 5 stars Tomb Of The Mutilated 2: Remastered Version .......2005-10-08

This is another important edition to my Cannibal Corpse collection. I brought it some time in the fall of 2002 along with the remastered versions of Eaten Back To Life and Butchered At Birth. Like all Canibal Corpe releases, I had to have it.

Now before my review, I need to say some things that are very important. Those things have already been mentioned on the middle pharagraph for my review for the original version of this album. For those who want to read it, just go to my review for the original version and you will find it. The version that I'm reviewing now is the remastered version.

Now for my review. I have already reviewed the original version. So for those who have read the review, you already know what I think about this album. This version however is a remastered version and is not that different from the original. Some things have stayed the same but some have been changed or enhanced but like I said on my reviews for the remastered versions of Eaten Back To Life and Butchered At Birth, nothing Chris Barnes has been taken out but here are some of the changes.

1. The Artwork And Layout - The cover is pretty much the same but enhanced. It features the George Fisher era albums logo. The layout, inner sleave and dialog have also been enhanced. There is also a short commentary by Alex Webster about the album. So those are pretty much some of the changes as far as the album cover and sleave are concerned and like I said before, no trace of Chris Barnes' influence has been removed.

2. The Music - The music is pretty much the same as the original and the sound and production of the album has not changed much. The front of the CD however is enhanced. There is also a bonus track and it is a live version of I Cum Blood which can be played in regular CD audio or CD-ROM for your compluter. This live version of the song sounds exactly like the version on Live Cannibalism because before the song starts, George says "This song is about shooting blood out of your c-ck."

So all in all, this is a very important edition to a true Cannibal Corpse collection. So buy it and re-enter the tomb.

5 out of 5 stars classic CC.......2005-09-07

This is easily my favorite Cannibal Corpse disc, and that is a very high honor in my book. Mista George Corpsegrinder is extremely raw, but how can you beat Chris Barnes' lows? If you like Cannibal, listen to the first two tracks, I Cum Blood and Hammer Smashed Face, and you will immediately be smacked in the face by some mosh-inducing death metal bliss. This is my most highly regarded CC cd simply because when I put this cd in, I CAN NOT take it out until it's finished, and probably repeated a few times. If you listen to death metal and you have never heard CC, what the @!@#%^!

1 out of 5 stars AGGGHH!.......2006-03-26

Now I'm not one of those hyper conservative people who thinks music influences people, but that cover art is just plain fricken disgusting, I mean, seriously, it's almost as bad as the music.

The music sucks. Poser gore crap. Listen to Death and Obituary for death metal instead.

5 out of 5 stars Best Cover Art Ever!!!.......2006-02-07

Now, my other CC review heralds the cover for "The Wretched Spawn" as the best cover art, but I am pretty sure I gave a shout to this album somewhere in there. Well, let me reiterate: BEST COVER ART!!!
Now, as for the tunes. CC definitely proves they can tear it up musically. This exhausting CD emits some of the band's rawest material to date. It's so F-ing fast, you're sweating when it's done. Okay, that was lame.
Now, for the lyrics. Poetry. Pure poetry. You can browse them on google or something. I c*m blood was not half shabby. I did cry. Not for good reasons. But I did.

5 out of 5 stars Just Shreds!.......2003-04-19

Seems like people either love this band or hate them. I happen to love them. If you love fast, grinding, ...hard death metal baby you will love it. If your the sensitive come hold me in your arms and kiss me type you'll hate this. From start to finish this album shreds. I love both Chris Barnes and Fisher on vocals. Weither you get early Cannibal or later stuff it all shreds. The riffs are brutal. I love it from start to finish. Tracks 1 and 3 are my favorites though. Yes the lyrics are brutal, but it's not any different then watching a horror film. Anyone with a brain knows that just cause you watch a horror film, or listen to a band that sings about death that does not mean you will go hurt someone. This music makes me happy and puts a smile on my face. Leave the love lyrics to the ones that want that cry on my shoulder stuff, bring on the gore for me baby. GO GET THIS RECORD IF YOU LOVE YOUR MUSIC HARD CORE!
The first track Hammer Smashed Face will have you wanting to turn your living room into a make shift Cannibal Pit and dance baby! ... Thank guys for the music. Get the explicit version, the clean one does not have lyrics.

5 out of 5 stars Cannibal's Most Extreme Offering : Delicious........2003-03-08

The guys from Cannibal Corpse definitely outdid themselves on this one. Especially Chris - whose vocals on this album are THE most undecipherable ever. His low, cupped-mic grunts contrast nicely with the razor sharp precision of the music. The instrumental execution is much improved from their previous 2 releases. One can hear every instrument distinctly - especially the bass. The separation achieved in the mix is quite different from almost any Death Metal release I have ever heard (and I've heard lots). The only gripe I would have is that it seems to be the shortest in duration of all their albums. One of their best (a top-spot tie with The Bleeding), yet so short. Ah well, just play it again!! The lyrics are also the most disgusting ever. Barnes was really good at this - his lyrics are better than the ones they are doing now. Definitely not for the faint of heart, and I would not recommend it as an introduction to this band, much less as an introduction to the genre. For that, I'd steer you to The Bleeding, or to any Obituary cd. But, for the already initiated DM maniac, this album is pure bliss.

5 out of 5 stars The best album Cannibal has ever written.......1999-02-14

"Tomb Of The Mutilated", the single most graphic album Cannibal Corpse has ever written, and the best album of their carrer. Their riffs are tight and the music is fast and ferocius. Yet at the same it is very heavy and really gets your adrenaline flowing. I cannot name one track to be my favorite as they are all worthy of being the greatest.
