At That time, there was nothing quite like a Jazz at The Philharmonic concert to put crictics and fans at each other throats. Now, referred to as the "Perdido/Mordido/Endido" Suite, this is a no-holds-barred souvenir of what took place, on stage, at new York's hallowedCarnegie Hall on that controversial September night when tenor sax Illinois Jacquet and Flip Phillips infamously locked horns".

If you are hip to JATP Norman Granz concerts this one represents the best of the sax-blowers. I saw a japt concert while in high school with both these tenor sax guys. Out standing music. I am 71 years young and this music is for all ages. Buy it. You would not guess it was recorded in the late 50's..
