This album is just SCREAMING for a re-release aint it?? hehe the album cover SURE IS SCREAMING!!!

I baged this used for like 7$ a few year's back..dont know how much it goes for these dayz but I bet it's a PRETTY PENNEY!!

This is just your average FLORDIA like DEATH METAL..but these gent's are from SCOTTLAND!! and they put some keyboard's on here!! JOHN from OBITUARY sang some backup VOKILL's on ''DIE..DIE'' as well!!

I admit this is a prteey big CHEEZ fest..but I LOVE it!!

I hope you can find it cheap!!!!!

Amazing old school death metal.......2004-12-16

A must have for any death metal fan whether you like old school death metal, new death metal, deathgrind, brutal death metal, whatever you like, this is a must have. don't let the sub-par quality fool you. this album is a masterpeice. everywhere from the vocals, guitar, bass, drums everything. guitars arent very technical like some of todays technical death (I.E. suffocation, gorguts, embrinson, atheist, immolation etc.) buy this before it goes out of print. if you like obituary type death metal or ANY kind, buy it. please, for the love of god, buy it!

OLD SCHOOL DEATH NEVER DIES!!!.......2004-12-10

Cancer are a great example of what PURE 100% Death Freakin' Metal is all about. This album is up there with Entombed's Left Hand Path, Obituary's Slowly we Rot and other early 90s Deathmetal debuts. The first track "Bloodbath" begins with a percussive drum roll and then a sickening harsh scream/growl. The best songs on this album are "Bloodbath", "CFC", "Sentenced to the Gallows and my personal favorite "To the Gory End". The production reminds allot of Obituary's debut album. The guitar tone is very scratchy and almost blackmetal sounding. Carl Stokes is an exceptionally good drummer who places fills in all the right spots. "Into the Acid" is definitely my second fave track. Non stop mid-paced thrash riffing pretty much defines the song quality on this release. I highly urge any fans of Death, Obituary or Carcass to pick up this killer debut album from Cancer. Then, get Death Shall Rise and The Sins of Mankind. Cancer are underrated big time and they never got the credit they deserved in the 90's. Now they are back together so let's hope they stay true to their roots!!!

Raw, Primitive But Catchy UK Deathmetal........2002-03-27

Produced by Scott Burns, the debut from Telford's CANCER is primitive sounding to say the least, production is thin & echoed sounding [Produced in Wales I Believe]. This does not say that 'To the gory end'is a poor debut: Noway.

Best tracks are the title track & 'Die Die' which J Tardy of 'Obituary' pops by to do backing Vocals.

Of course, CANCER's best album in my opinion is 'DEATH SHALL RISE' again a Scott Burns affair but this time at Morrisound studios. It has James Murphy on Lead Guitar and is a fantastic 'Old school deathmetal album.

Now hard to buy, well worth it if you can get it.

A must buy. Never travel without it. It is amazing how this group just keeps up the stuff they're known for!
