Customer Reviews:
Casey Royer's Fave.......2004-01-25
When I was at a merch. stand, some one asked about "the live one" which is this album, and Casey Royer, actually standing behind the counter, said it was his favorite of any D.I. album, and he was pretty proud of it, and any one he'd ever talked to had said it was the best D.I. album they'd heard. "The recording is great, and it's got all the best songs." Then the guy asked where all the D.I. shirts were. "We sold all the shirts at our last show."
The Best Live Album Ever!.......2001-12-01
This has to be the best live album I've ever heard. It was recorded in 1992, and DI doesn't sound like they were past their prime at all(strange, seeing as how the State of Shock album was released just a couple of years later. What a difference a change of lineup makes!) The songs all sound great, Casey Royer's never irritating, and they play all of their best known material. This is DI's last great album, and they went out with a bang!
Legendary..........2001-03-19
When D.I. frontman Casey Royer pounded the surf beat skins for So. Cal bands like the Detours and the legendary Adolescents he had a pretty good thing going. But, when he busted out on his own and started delivering stuff like "O.C. Life" and "Richard Hung Himself" he definietely lept into a league of his own. In fact, D.I. showcases how great the Adolecents really were. On this live disc there's a lot of social commentary and buzz sawing riffs. Royer and his hired hands play with a lot of energy here, although the Rikk Agnew penned songs miss the punk fretboard master's touch. I live no where near So. Cal, but these songs really speak about what America has become. Great stuff.
