This is the best collection of Tull I have experienced. All the great acoustic pieces under one roof. A must have for all true Tull fans. And even a bit of Ians' best from more recent days.

Budget Tull - Live.......2007-02-12

Anyone who has bought Sony/BMG's "Extended Versions" series of live classic rock recordings knows that most of these releases have been culled from previous CD releases. This one is no exception; eight of the CD's ten tracks are taken from 2002's "Living With The Past," which featured the line-up of Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, Andrew Giddings, Jonathan Noyce, and Doane Perry. Two songs, "Cross-Eyed Mary" and "Thick as a Brick," appeared on the companion "Living in the Past" DVD, but not the CD and, for Tull fans, would be the primary reason for picking up this CD. Fans that are new to Jethro Tull or casual fans, looking to pick up live versions of some of the band's greatest hits, will likely enjoy this collection. The playing is first-rate and the recording is very good.

The "Extended Versions" series seems to have a cut-off number of 10 songs for each of its releases, meaning that there's less than an hour of music on this CD, and loses a star as a result.

I actually purchased this one from the place I work at here in Pineville, LA...at the local CVS Pharmacy! Was thinking it was just an older cd...for a great price...(good price here on Amazon just as well)...anyways....the recording sounds great...every track is just awesome! I listened to it over and over when I first purchased it. I've grown to like Paul more and more ever since seeing him live with QUEEN!!!! What a concert it was...and I think it's only made his voice that much stronger! Great cd to pick up for a cheap price! You'll be glad ya got it once you hear!!

Vixen - back with a vengeance.......2006-11-08

Outrageously great. Guitar ace and original member Jan Kuehnemund has put together a killer band, with superb and powerful vocals from Jenna Sanz-Agero, solid and tight bass from Lynn Lowry, and spot-on drumming from Kat Kraft, plus some good keyboard work from Chris Fayz.

Every song on this "live at Sweeden Rock Festival" CD is good, but Edge of a Broken Heart, How Much Love, Cryin', and Love is a Killer are standouts. The quality of the performances is so high that it's hard to believe it is a live album.

Great Live set!!.......2007-03-26

Normally I don't care for live CD's - but this one was a very pleasant surprise. The mixes are really good and the songs are great. I saw the Smithereens live and sadly didn't have the cash on hand to buy this CD that night. I did order it the next day on Amazon. If you have the chance to see the Smithereens Live - Do so, they put on a great show. If not, get this album and enjoy!!

A nice cheap surprise.........2006-11-04

I spotted this at my local Wallyworld and took a chance. Despite some too-tight editing that slam-bangs each song into almost a 45 minute medley the bands performance is tight and exciting. The four tracks from "A Date With the Smithereens" CD benefit greatly from the live treatment: they're played with more energy and enthusiasm than the studio versions.

Besides the super-rare "Smithereens Live" EP from 1987 this is the only available live recording from the band. For the cheap price this is a no-brainer purchase for the die-hard Smithereens fan. But I wish Sony music would have least mentioned where the concert was recorded at on the liner card!

I also wish the Smithereens could put together a live concert DVD, they deserve one. I've seen these guys 3 times over the years and Pat and the guys never disappoint!

Good compilation, live set from 1996.......2006-10-28

This is a really clean sounding live album recorded from a show, or shows in the 1996 era. It is a little heavy in the "Date With The Smithereens" era, but that is my favorite album, so I don't mind. I have also seen the smithereens live, and this is a good approximation, unfortunatly without some of the intros and little quirks of a live show. The sound quality is really good, considering the crowd noise is not prominent (might be right from the soundboard). Pick this up, worth the 5-7 dollars you spend.

solid live set.......2006-08-10

The packaging says this was recorded in 1996, and it's a pretty solid show, with songs spanning several of their albums. Definitely worth the six or seven bucks it'll cost you (i've seen them live and this was a fair approximation of what their shows are like). definitely recommended if you're a fan; i picked it up not having heard it, and i was pleasantly surprised.

i love it! i was megadeth fan since 14 and now i'm going 30 but still love to hear all their songs. This little live recording cd show how great megadeth is, fast and clean performance.

Only buy if you don't have Rude Awakening.......2007-06-14

These are the same songs that are on the live Rude Awakening CD from a few years ago. They're good songs and everything, but if you already have Rude Awakening then you have no reason to buy this. And really I'd suggest buying Rude Awakening instead. Same songs, plus more. A little more expensive but its worth it.

Nice little Live set.......2007-05-23

Again, this is another ploy by sony to milk the megadeth name for what it's worth. It is a live set played on The World Needs a Hero Tour(likely featuring Jimmy Degrasso on drums, Al Patreli on guitar, and "Junior" David Elfson on Bass), or possibly on their greatest hits tour, with an interem line up before the Drover brothers joined. It is a tight set, litte croud talk, and this clock in at just around 50 minutes also. Unlike other "Extended Versions" this does not have many if any swear words to blip, like anthrax's. Worth a look for megadeth fans, and a good price. Here is the track listing:

I'm a bit of a Barenaked Ladies collector, and hey, this was cheap. It's some live recordings of the band from several East Coast shows. Good quality recordings, but, honestly, not a lot of the "spark" you'll find by actually attending one of their live shows. Good music, but I've heard it before.

A great intro to the Kelly Hansen/Foreigner era.......2007-07-14

Not bad! My highlight would be "Juke Box Hero-Whole lotta love" and "Head Games" Mick's guitar solo's throughout are great and I love the lil solo ad libs he does here and there.
Kelly Hansen does the songs justice. He has the range and depth to wrap himself up in these songs. Live these guys sound great and it clearly shows that on this recording. Highly recommend you purchase this and turn up your stereo nice and loud.

Foreigner Extended Versions Nov. 26, 2005 Live in Vegas.......2007-05-26

Kelly Hansen's vocals are amazing! He is an asset to Foreigner! I love Kelly from his Hurricane days! The quality of his vocals is clear, there is no cracking or weak spots during this live concert in Vegas.

WARNING: Repackaged Music.......2007-04-10

THIS IS A SLEAZY RECORD COMPANY TRICK TO STEAL YOUR MONEY.

BMG Special Products has released a whole series of "Extended Versions" CD's. What they have done is taken songs from another live album and repackaged it so you don't know what you are getting. If you are a big fan of the group, you probably already own the original live album, and BMG tricks you into rebuying it.

When BMG does this, they don't even include all of the songs from the original album. In some cases, you only get half of the songs that were on the original album. And the CD's come with no liner notes (because they don't want you to know the source of the music).

On some of the CD's the songs are even "extended versions". They are just live versions of the songs, that may or may not be a little bit longer than the studio albums.

In this case, these songs were originally on Foriegner 05. There are no real "extended versions" on this CD because Foriegner was not a jamming band in concert.

Be very careful when buying anything from BMG Special Products. It is probably a rip off.

AND THE RECORD COMPANIES COMPLAIN THAT FANS ARE STEALING MUSIC. NO WONDER WHEN THE RECORD COMPANIES PULL DISHONEST TRICKS LIKE THIS.

BUYERS BEWARE ! ! !.......2007-03-20

This product is a result of the vulture culture of SONY BMG.
There is nothing "extended" in these "extended versions". This is a masacred 2005 concert in Las Vegas. The full concert includes two more tracks and is available with a DVD under the title Foreigner Live 05.

Not the complete show..........2007-02-03

I was at this concert when they recorded it at Texas Station in Las Vegas. I actually got to go to the concert by luck. A co-worker of mine was going to go because she won tickets to it on the radio. A little bit later she also won tickets to go see Depeche Mode and wanted to go to that one instead since they were both on the same night. So, she gave the Foreigner tickets to me. They were amazing in concert. I was quite surprised when the vocalist, Jill Kelley, former member of Hurricane introduced th band and he said Jeff Pilson and Jason Bonham! When they announced that they were recording tonight's show I was looking forward to the album but was disappointed when I saw it. The cd only has ten songs on it but they played a good fifteen or sixteen songs, including some Zeppelin! Why was the entire recording not released? I was especially looking forward to hearing That was Yesterday, my favorite song on Agent Provaceteur. At any rate, the album is good but it could have been so much better.
