Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Painful........2003-07-18

Yes you wont know the pain until you realized you've wasted your money on a CD that is not only dull but just plain bad. Don't do it.

2 out of 5 stars gets 2 cause it's not as wreatched Valor's other stuff..........2003-04-09

...but still an embarrasing stab at 80's hair metal. Give this
thieving clod credit: he'll do ANYTHING to try to get noticed.
" We fall like Love " is an okay ballad, but the rest of this
album actually makes you wish you WERE listening to Motley Crue...

Scrap it.

1 out of 5 stars The Worst Christian Death CD.......2003-01-03

The other positive reviews here, though well written, attest to the unfortunate reality that there really is nothing for fans of Gothic Rock on this CD. The only exception is the ballad "We Fall Like Love," which is available on the "Jesus Points The Bone" compilation. It really is the worst Christian Death album, and I say that in all sincerity, as an adrent fan and a long time collector of their discography. Fans of Rozz Williams will probably know to avoid this, and fans of Valor will only be disappointed. The corresponding darker and more aggressive release, "All The Hate," is a bit of an improvement, but has only a few standout tracks. These conceptual double-albums are pretty much what spoiled Valor's reputation. However, the next few releases "Sexy Death God" and "Insanus..." showed Valor back on track, making focussed and solid Gothic Rock music.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointed upon release.......2001-08-31

I waited for the "double-albums" from Christian Death (All the Love/Hate) to be released for months. I worshipped my Catastrophe Ballet, Only Theatre of Pain, and Ashes albums (yes Albums!). When this album was finally released, I shelled out big bucks for the imports only to be extremely dissappointed. If you like bad rock music, this album is for you. All the Hate is a little better.

4 out of 5 stars An underrated album.......2001-06-24

I can't tell you how many times I've seen this listed as one of Christian Death's worst albums. It was even skipped over in Cleopatra's reissue program and therefore remains out of print and hard to come by. Unfortunately, all of this means that many fans are missing out on pretty good album.

Perhaps the overall reason for this album's obscurity is the fact that it's somewhat stylistically difficult to place in the band's discography. It's not exactly a goth album. It's not a metal album. It's not an industrial album. It sort of fits into a more mainstream hard rock niche.

Fans of Christian Death's other albums will likely be caught off guard by the album's opening gospel number "Live Love Together". However, I can't imagine anyone completely disliking the next track, the amazing ballad "We Fall Like Love". The best song on this album is almost undeniably the band's beautiful acoustic guitar based cover of Hendrix's "Angel", perhaps the most touching thing ever recorded by Valor's Christian Death.

Other standout tracks include the rocker "Love Don't Let Me Down", the hard rock ballad "I'm Using You (For Love)" and the album-closing "Woman To Mother Earth"..

In fact, the lyrics are the only major thing that holds this album back at all, at times even unintentionally evoking laughter on tracks like "Love Is A Bitchin' In My Heart", "I'm Using You (For Love)", and "Deviate Love"... Well, there's also the fact that it's part of a grand concept double album that Valor doesn't exactly pull off..

Despite that, as an album, it's still rather good musically speaking. It's not Christian Death at their best. It's not Christian Death at their worst, either.. Its production values aren't always immaculate, and Valor's vocals aren't always in peak form, but it's a musically well-performed and well-written rock album.

If you're looking for a metal album, you might not be completely satisfied. If you're looking for a pure goth album, you might like some of the material on here, but it might not be what you're looking for. If you're looking for Valor's typical sonic experimentation, you won't find much of it here. However, if you abandon your preconceptions, you will find complex song compositions, great performances with diverse instrumentation, and a rewarding rock album.
