Like most reviewers, I had heard about a sophomore album by Kelis but could never find it till I started shopping on this site. After a few listens I think it's a real shame that the record label wasn't courageous enough or didn't believe in this project enough to release it in the USA.

The collaboration between Kelis & The Neptunes continues the truly original path that they started on her excellent debut. As with the debut, there are a lot of tracks featuring hot beats by the Neptunes that make the best use of Kelis' vocal ability.

Overall I really enjoyed listening to the whole album because each song is uniquely distinctive and sounds like no other artist - Kelis is right about one thing she said recently "she is the first girl to scream on a track" and others are copying her style but fans know that Kelis is an original!

My favorite tracks where her vocal performance & the beats are sheer perfection are: LITTLE SUZIE, SHOOTING STARS, FLASHBACK, YOUNG FRESH 'N NEW, MR. UFO & POPULAR THUG

Other great tracks that I love moreso for the beats than Kelis' vocal performance are: DADDY (Kelis raps more than sings on this one), SCARED MONEY, DIGITAL WORLD, PERFECT DAY, GET EVEN (kind of a sequel to CAUGHT OUT THERE) & JUNKIE

Like I said before, it's a shame that fans who enjoyed Kelis' debut weren't given a chance to support this disc - I really think that if POPULAR THUG, SHOOTING STARS OR FLASHBACK had been released stateside, Kelis could've continued to build upon the momentum and gained more fans since her music was so original and unlike anything other artists were releasing at the time.

Her Best Work - Downhill After This.......2007-01-04

Outside of "Baby I Got Your Money" I'd never heard of, or anything by, Kelis until about 3 years ago when I was living in Atlanta. A roommate of mine started playing Wanderland and I was instantly blown away. Her voice was amazing and the production complemented here beautifully, although the Neptunes didn't do a good job of trying to cover the fact that the music is a little "keyboard-y" but in this case I think it works.

Since this album, Kelis has taken a turn for the worse (in my opinion). I have no idea where she's going in each song I've heard from her lately. I mean "Bossy"?? or that song where she's tied up with Nas?? I'd rather shave my dog than listen to those tracks (though Mr. Bangledesh did a good track with Tha Dogg Pound so it's not his fault). It seems that nowadays she's trying to cash in on the "more slu+y than talented" gimic a-la "Dirty" Christina Agulera or everything Jennifer Lopez did. This CD brings me back to a time where music sounded sincere and melody was important. In todays world... it's all about the videos. So sad. Get this album if you want to her Kelis' REAL music.

Many people say this is Kelis' best album. It is experimental, I'll give it that, but I feel that it's just average. It has nice production from the Neptunes, and some of the material is very good, but then there are still some songs that just do not work out. I would still recommend buying it, since it's less that $3 on Amazon!

MY GIRL TAKES US TO WANDERLAND!.......2005-01-08

INTRO (10/10) - Another funny intro. Kelis takes people on a tour through her Wanderland. She's yelling at people and stuff and erthang. Then it turns into the song, letting the games start with a new beginning.

YOUNG, FRESH N' NEW (9/10) - The electric riff and hand claps lets Kelis get loud. How some things are stopping you from doing what you want, run away and be young, fresh n' new.

FLASHBACK (10/10) - One of my personal favorites. About how she met this guy during summer, but this song is a flashback of how they met. She gets a little sexual in this song: "You make me come... alive". An enjoyable summer jam.

POPULAR THUG (10/10) - Pusha T of clipse has his part. She really liked this guy but how he acted made her wonder. She wouldn't have talked to him if she'd known he was a popular thug.

DADDY (9/10) - Kelis somewhat raps in this song. She can't rap but it's cute. I know all the words. It's about how a good girl like her gets a guy that the opposite of her. Also, this beat is the same beat Truth Hurts used in her single "Addictive."

SCARED MONEY (10/10) - This song sounds like a number captain hook sang in the original peter pan. It's about how you shouldn't be scared of her because scared money don't make none.

SHOOTING STARS (10/10) - The romantic "you're heaven sent" track with Pharrell along with the hooks and verses. Very laid back. At the end, Kelis redoes the rainy day melody "Rain, Rain, Go away". Absolutely genius!

DIGITAL WORLD (10/10) - The pop/hip-hop track with electric Neptune sounds. Roscoe is featured in this song.

PERFECT DAY (10/10) - Along with No Doubt's Drummer, Kelis goes rock and sings how much of a perfect day it is and she's laying around, going no where fast. Very nice!

EASY COME, EASY GO (10/10) - I'm not exactly sure what's going on in this song, but it's really good.

JUNKIE (10/10) - That one person you're addicted to. Only Kelis is in rehab singing this song. LOL

GET EVEN (10/10) - Another "Caught Out There"-like song. About that one girl who gets your man, but Kelis isn't gonna get mad, she's gonna get even.

MR. U.F.O. MAN (10/10) - I don't know who the heck John Otsby is but he sang pretty good with Kelis about needing to speak to Jesus and how we need help on earth.

LITTLE SUZIE (10/10) - Kelis is pretty much in confession in this one. She's letting the kids know that everything will be alright, God opens windows, next he'll open doors.

SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT [LIVE] (9/10) - The live rock version of this song. It wasn't too bad, but Kelis needs some voice lessons. Don't get me wrong, she's my favorite singer ever, but it wouldn't hurt to take singing lessons for a year or two.

SPOT (10/10) - THIS IS MY JAM RIGHT HERE! This song isn't on this album so don't get excited. I don't know where it is but I hope they release it soon on somebody's c.d.

Vocals & Sounds.......2003-06-19

Pharrell and Chad really have a star on their label. I don't know why she hasn't blown up in the industry. Her music is like beautiful poetry with beats from the masters of sounds, the neptunes. This album is a definite buyer, unless you are going to download it. Either way, get it. She has a new album coming along with the Clones album and a new N*E*R*D album. All are gonna be getters, so stay on the look out for 'em.

Kelis' new CD Wanderland + bonus track is something new. it's fun. the songwriting is great. her sound is something new. no doubt appears on this record, and so do a few others who compliment Kelis very well. My favorite songs are:

Shooting Stars - this song is just pure soul - amazing.

I Don't Care (which is the last hidden track on the CD) - a Jimi Hendrix vibe is going on in this song, it's the "Just Dont Give a F-" of the CD

this c.d. has an overall space/carnival/fantasy vibe to it. i predict this CD will amaze many music fans.

Unexpected.......2001-12-12

I've never been a fan of Kelis' and when I bought this album I wasn't expecting much- boy was I surprised. This album really grows on you and the Neptunes production creates instantly catchy tunesMy favorite tracks are Perfect Day, Popular Thug, Mr UFO Man, Flashback + Little Suzie, but Perfect Day plus Popluar Thug are the best. One thing which lets the album down is the similar production although I like the Neptunes Kelis should try other producers.

Kelis and The Neptunes do it AGAIN!.......2001-11-12

This is the follow up to Kelis' debut. It won't be available in the U.S. until February, but the first single, Young, Fresh N New, is in regular rotation on MTV Europe and the Disc is available in Europe as well. I liked Kelis's first CD, Kaleidoscope, a lot and this one goes further in same direction. From the hilarious Intro to the TWO bonus tracks this is a great disc. Stand out tracks are Young, Fresh, n, New, Scared Money, Shooting Stars, Perfect Day (co written and performed by No Doubt)and Easy Come,Easy Go. The Neptunes' production is a little more agressive and experimental here than with the standard stuff they are doing with everyone else on pop/R&B radio. This is a great CD.
