Boosty's in rare form here,kinda reminded me the 1977 tour in Oakland ca. ABSOULTLY one of the best shows ever.That should be on cd for the fans.I digress, sorry this cd is dope...All the raps are tight ,bass lines are smooth .Ohh and by the way BABY!!! Bootzilla Baby.......2006-01-20

The album is Funky, Jazzy, Soul, Gospel all rolled in one. The other artist give it a groove that is sweet, tender and is a light to those who has the breath of life and is a living soul. I think that this is one of Bootsy's great down to eart sounds. It brought me from the edge of depression jamming and enjoying bootsy at his best. The mix master did a great job with the volume of each voice on the album. It takes the Bootsy Fans to many deminsions. I purchased the album because, "I'm Funky and I Know it." Don't Let Them Put You Down, took me on a trip when people around me only talk negetive and step on my spirit. Love Gangster reminded me of what I wished everyone in the world would do. Just by having Macy Grey sing on the album put it in another universe. "I Get So Emotional." "If I Get This Kind of Love Whats an Album Bill?" Soul Sister is like the Black Hole of the Big Band, like Eve the Mother of Us All. This is like the writing of the Constitution. Its for all the People. "If You are Funky and You Know It, You Will Enjoy This Album, an Adventure in Wonder Land. Power to the Funkateers. If someone listens to this album and cannot groove on it, they are not a true Bootsy Fan and a George Clinton fan. One more thing, "This albums has some low down dirty funk, pure funk, uncut funk. Funk it up now cause, "Can't No Body Do Me Like Jesus, Can't No Body Do Me Like Jesus." I Probly can say more, but I think you can understand and jam on this UNCUTFUNK. Not the Bootsy I know.......2005-12-30

I am a long time Bootsy fan, love all of his previous works, even the projects he's done without George, but this one takes the cake i mean this is hourable, whatever happen to the nice chous Bootsy use to have, and who are all these people on this CD, I know Snoop, but none of these guys can bring the FUNK like George Clinton, man bootsy this is your worst work ever, and I thought I'd never have to say that. Stick to your original sound forget trying to blend in with the new because most of this stuff out here is pure garbage anyway, and that's probably why your CD came out that way. Stick to what you do best, and ask George to help on your next project, see that;s what made yall different from the rest yall got that original flava that last a life time, these new groups, their just fly by night one hit fonders, nobodies gona look for their music in the next 10 years, don't bring anymore garbage out like that again Bootsy, you need to come correct mor don't come at all.

Schwag Funk.......2005-11-26

this is one of the worst funk albums of all time, i own all of bootsy's cd's and this is one is probably the worst. Corny rapping, weak bass lines, pretty much all the tracks have drum machines. Bootsy's Blasters of the universe is infinitley better than this schwag-ass bunk funk. The music smells worse than a fifty cents concert

OLD SKOOL MEETS NU SCHOOL - Lady Kier, Kelli Ali, Prince?!.......2005-01-04

I found this in the bargain bins and was mighty surprised - rather than toss off a dated 80s retro flashback, Bootsy has delivered the perfect blend of old-skool vs. nu-school funk to bring him up to date - with the help of tasty vocal contributions from LADY KIER (DEEE-LITE!), ROSIE GAINES (ex-PRINCE "Diamonds and Pearls" amazing singer!), FATBOY SLIM, KELLI ALI (ex-SNEAKER PIMPS), this is really a surprisingly consistent jam of the year! The biggest mystery is the singer "ONE" who sounds awfully a lot like PRINCE (?!) - is it PRINCE or one of his psuedonyms or what?! Whatever the verdict, many of these tracks sounds like "LET'S WORK/WANNA BE YOUR LOVER" stripped-down early PURPLE ONE FUNK! Get it now - this was first released on Warners on import, now licensed to THUMP, who def have good ears! Support funk, BUY BOOTSY!!

RE-WIND ME UP BAW-BUH...................2004-05-09

I am a serious funkateer, but as another stated, this cd leaves alot to be desired. I would describe this cd as a whole as VERY AVERAGE. Nice crisp/clean production, but with a cd cover like this one, i was kind of counting on getting a serious helping of that space bass. He does give you a few tid-bits of that filthy sound, but most of it doesn't quite get my head swirling in that electric purple galaxy of liquid funk fireballs. Nice average dance/party disc with lots of guests, but that's just it...I like STANKY FUNK which gives me that crinkled-up funk face not just mere robotic dance cuts. This is WAY more dance than funk in my opinion.

With that in mind, I would say the bomb cuts are delivered courtesy of Lady Miss Kier of deee-lite. She pimps those songs somehow (#10 and 11). Also "funky and you know it" gives me that funk face (#9) but that's really all that sticks for me.

If your checking into this, you probably have bootsy's early work from the '70s and I'm telling you that work stomps this stuff like a monster truck! HANDS DOWN!

If you want to get cracked upside your cranium with bootsy's space bass, spend your money on Bootsy's Rubber band "live in Louisville '78" or any other early studio albums of the mid-'70s!!!!!!

Hopefully Bootsy will bring that brain-bustin' bass back ALOT HARDER next time around as that is what really makes him so unique and musically interesting.

Best NEW Bootsy Album!!.......2004-02-18

This is the best modern Bootsy album he has released. Not one song lacks creativity and the guest fit right in. I gave this album 4 stars for that fact there should be more songs!

a super funky fricknic! i love bootsy collins, and i love this cd even more because an old friend decided to chime in... the deee-lovely diva, lady miss kier. :)

i think i've worn out the grooves on 'im tired of good im trying bad' and 'all star funk' - if you're a deee-lite fan, or love the funkadelliq freshness of bootsy collins, you'll love this album.

and remember... step back, don't touch the food... and nobody gets hurt.

Pretty Good but missing ..........2003-01-14

Bootsy Collins is a Cat that just on His Playing can hang or leave alot of people in the dust.but Him as a Artist especially over the past few years leaves alot too be desired.the Song-writing is ok at best&the all Guests are ok at best.nothing really stands out but there are some tight Grooves here&there but overall Bootsy kinda going through the Motions.the Playing makes it a 3 everything else is a 1&Half too a 2&Half for me overall.

I gotta admit, I was skeptical. Bootsy's, as well as most old Funkateers' albums have lagged in the Funk dept.in the past few years. It's not that it ain't funky, but Funk is about evolution,and until this record, it just hadn't evolved in a while (with the exception of Prince + OutKast). But DAMN! I guess I'm just still in shock. In 3 days of owning this album I've listened 2 it about 7 times front 2 back + iTIZZ the shizz, jack. Bootsy has found a way 2 perfectly blend the Funkadelic/ Rubber Band/ Parliament/ James Brown Funk of his 70's work with the solo Bootsy/ Roger + Zapp/ Cameo sounds of the 80's and the laid back G-Funk gangsta shizz of the 90's a-la Digital Underground/ Snoop/ Dr. Dre, not 2 mention his influences in the house-techno pop of his work with Deee-lite (and Lady Kier rox it on 2 joints on this disc) and Fatboy Slim (who also makes a guest appearance) in2 something that probably won't catch on 4 about 20 years.Always ahead of our time, Bootsy exists only in his time, Star Time, + with some core P-funk alumni as well as his "nephew" "Snoopy Collins" lending a hand on this album, it redefines Funk 4 the new Millennium. If U r a true fan of Funk, don't let this 1 slip by. U might also want 2 check out a new up + coming Funk band called The Soular System @ thesoularsystem.com. Glory be!
