...that is the cut. Latimore's magnum opus is, as everybody knows, "Let's Straighten It Out", an outright muddy southern soul extravaganza highlighted by Latimore's melancholy barotone and even melancholier Fender Rhodes. I'm sure the man appreciates that this is still being played everywhere, but he's made many, many records since then. I got aholt of this because it's got my favorite "Deal Down and Dirty" and "I Smell a Rat" and "Skinny Little White Girl"...What? The soul blues world is not quite like any other, I tell ya. Anyway, support artists like Latimore, because his music and live performances are what people are really listening to in those blues bars and lounges.
