The journey starts off with the don't-take-no-stuff club banger "I'm Out", which puts a man right back in his place after he boldly steps out of line with his female counterpart as she concludes that "When it comes down to the get down" he's really not who she thought he was. On the ultra groovy "Say A Little Prayer", Edison proclaims the love for a man, whom she can't seem to find enough courage to speak to and asks her listeners to say a little prayer in hopes of helping her gain the courage that, for her, approaching a man like this requires. Edison challenges us to think a little deeper on the melodically dynamic "Maybe", which explores the inner most thoughts of unsurety that we have in relationships when we are not completely satisfied while we yet stay in these relationships waiting and hoping that "maybe" things will change. The dance provoking "Just Breathe" takes us on an emotional rollercoaster and lands us on the angrier more destructive side of relationships, while the poetically rhythmic title track "A Thousand Wings" uniquely describes what it feels like to finally have a love that makes you feel like you can do anything in the world. Edison caps off her musically satisfying creation with the beautiful harmonies of the inspirational Acapella "No Matter What", that seeks to encourage and inspire people from all walks of life to never give up.

I don't know if a bad 2002 album exists. I own 7 of them, and I have no complaints. I would say that Wings is like Chrysalis, and Chrysalis is amazing. Very very calming stuff. Wings is not my favorite 2002 album, but nonetheless, it is great. Check it out.

I've just listened to this album. Heard one tune on a cable muzak station called musicchoice. Sounded good so i ordered the album; and since the sound bites from the others sounded so good, i got those too.THIS IS AMAZING STUFF!!. ...smooth, synth relaxing music with a hint of the "angelic" voices where appropriate. Leave all the hip hop and metal ... for the unwashed and braindead masses, this music rules. You will not be disappointed, go buy it. NOW.

2002 has done it again...I am totally hooked on their superb music. There is such a gentleness and calmness about this CD that just let's you "take WINGS" and fly. I am a Massage Therapist and I have clients that request now that I play this CD...it seems to let them take a deep breath, close their eyes and go to a place of peace and calmness. I highly recommend this CD.

The first time I heard this CD. I thought I died and went to heaven. I felt a profound healing and nurtering taking place. There is something more about this heavenly music that opens the door to your heart. And it gently wispers devine love. Everytime I listen to it I am asured of something wonderfull and magical.

The re-release of 2002's previous works (Wings and Savitri) by the RealMusic label are welcome additions for 2002 fans. The opening track (Once in Ancient Greece) is a gentle melodic invitation to a relaxing journey through time and space. 2002's trademark ethereal sound is best exemplified by the second track (A Year and A Day). Wings and Feathers (Tracks 7 and 8, respectively) also conjure that other-wordly, almost heavenly quality that defines 2002's music. My only criticism is Track 4 (Icarus), which sounds more like church organ music. Not that there is anything objectionable about church organ music, but Icarus interrupts the flow of an otherwise relaxing and enjoyable CD.

    Sweet Seraphic Fire brings together two unique bodies of American sacred song: choral compositions from the New England singing-school tradition and the most popular Evangelical Protestant hymn texts in historic American use. In the late eighteenth century the New England singing-school movement produced America's first great sacred-music style, employing several genres of unaccompanied four-part choral compositions with the melody in the lead (tenor) part. The enormous popularity of singing-school music also promoted a canon of hymn texts shared across America's competing Evangelical Protestant denominations. This recording contains neglected masterworks from the New England singing school that also helped to create the American hymn canon. Marking a more recent turn in this process, we have also included some new settings of traditional Evangelical lyrics written by leaders in the revival of singing-school music that has blossomed in the Northeast since 1976. ! Selection of pieces for this recording was determined by correlating "The Norumbega Harmony"--our collection of one hundred six historic New England singing-school compositions and thirty contemporary works in traditional style--with a list of the three hundred most frequently printed hymn texts in America from 1737 to 1960. --Stephen Marini

    This is a REALLY cool album of shape-note singings, I particurlarly like EVERY STRING AWAKE and ANTHEM FOR EASTER.
    Some of the songs are kind of dreary, (Hatfield) but all in all this is COOL!!!

    Amy Beach had a fine touch with sacred music, as heard here. 'Jesus, My Savior' is a beautiful piano/voice duet that should be in every church soloist's repertory. Her 'Service in A' rates serious consideration as one of the finest American oratorio-sized works from the 20th century, eclipsed only by Bernstein's 'Chichester Psalms' and Lauridsen's 'Lux Aeterna'.

    Mr. Strimple's anthems 'Two from Isaiah' and 'Let This Mind Be In You' are exquisite examples of this art. Brilliantly voiced and solidly musical, they stand with some of the finer English anthems of the early 20th century in texture and concept.

Edison challenges us to think a little deeper on the melodically dynamic "Maybe", which explores the inner most thoughts of unsurety that we have in relationships when we are not completely satisfied while we yet stay in these relationships waiting and hoping that "maybe" things will change. The dance provoking "Just Breathe" takes us on an emotional rollercoaster and lands us on the angrier more destructive side of relationships, while the poetically rhythmic title track "A Thousand Wings" uniquely describes what it feels like to finally have a love that makes you feel like you can do anything in the world. Edison caps off her musically satisfying creation with the beautiful harmonies of the inspirational Acapella "No Matter What", that seeks to encourage and inspire people from all walks of life to never give up.

          I'd never heard of this girl b4 I saw her on this site. I went to her personal site to hear clips of her music (just search her name to find her site) and was completely blown away. I loved what I heard and decided to buy the album. It was better than I expected!! She's gonna be BIG! Trust!

          On the real, this is the best album I've heard from a female artist since Brandy's Full Moon album. She got this song on there called "MAYBE" that is ridiculous!! And happened to be exactly what I'm going through so I nearly hit the roof. Never heard a song put together like that, it's very different, HOT STUFF!!!! This girl can really sing, and the whole album is hot. My favorites are MAYBE, I'M OUT, RUN AWAY and A THOUSAND WINGS. I'm glad I found out about this one. Don't sleep people, this one is going to the top!

          Maybe I'm out of the loop but I've never heard of her before, well not before my friend told me to check out her site. So I'm sitting here listening to her CD like OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! This album is FIRE!!! #8 Just Breathe is crazy hot. I'm trying to figure out why this girl ain't on TV and at the top of the charts?? Maybe it's coming, it should be. She just gained a lifetime fan in me that's for sure. Ok my review of the album is that her voice is buttery smooth and every song is really good, not one album filler, to me at least. She got some killer ballads and some up-tempo bangers. Got me writing reviews... I never write reviews, lol :-)

          I heard her song on the radio and I liked it but to be honest I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to rating music and I didn't think it would be as good as it is cuz so many new artists just don't come wit it these days. Anyway, my favorite song is #12 A Thousand Wings, that song is the Sh*&$!! But I checked out her site and that's what made me buy it cuz every song was hot. Havn't heard much about her, but her album is TIGHT, so I hope she gets the proper promotion she deserves.
