Product Description
This 16 track album includes 'No Reason', a sensational two-hander with Omar, with whom he toured the US. The debut single 'Slow' is a duet with Birmingham newcomer Lornette Ford, while UK rapper Grim guests on 'All We Need'. The album boasts several stand-out slow jams such as 'I Do' and 'Rising', as well as the rock-flavored 'How I Feel' and airplay friendly 'Bus Stop', already picking up play. 2005.

Cynical types will accuse Disney of milking the "greatest" concept until it's drier than Tinkerbell's fairy dust ("Supercalafragilisticexpealidocious," "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da," and "Heigh Ho" were hits off of Vol. 1; "Bare Necessities," "It's a Small World," and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" stole the show on Vol. 2), but a glimpse of this installment's track listing is all it'll take to squash their suspicions. Once again running reverse-chronologically, Vol. 3 opens with Jonatha Brooke's gorgeously achy ballad "I'll Try," from 2002's arguably not-so-great Return to Neverland, and gradually reaches back through the years to re-raise the curtain on Toy Story 2 ("When She Loved Me," performed by Sarah McLachlan), The Lion King ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight"), Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews's classic "A Spoonful of Sugar"), Pinocchio ("Give a Little Whistle"), and a bundle of treasured others, bottoming out at 1933's "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" from The Three Little Pigs. Vol. 3 is not without its weak moments--would a G-rated movie-goers' poll produce Beauty and the Beast's "Gaston" or The Hunchback of Notre Dame's "Topsy Turvy" on a hits list? Seems unlikely. Still, the bulk of these tracks are, as the included Little Mermaid song goes, "Part of Your World," and the spread of decades they represent proves their staying power. Don't expect Disney to latch the lid on its inexhaustible archives until a dozen or so of these records, each as strong as the next, beckon you back for more. --Tammy La Gorce

above 18 but still have some kid in them

5 out of 5 stars Timeless Disney Music.......2007-05-07

Nothing brings sweet recollection of Disney movies like hearing the wonderful songs. In an age where there so much music with no redeeming qualities, these Disney CDs are priceless. Wonderful for the entire family to listen to around the house or in the car while traveling. We can't help but sing along. We love that these are the original tracks from the movies! Wonderful! We now have all three volumes.

5 out of 5 stars Disney songs are the best.......2006-03-18

I love the songs on this volume. I'll Try by Jonatha Brooke is such an amzing somg. I especially bought this CD fort that song but, was pleasantly surprsed by the rest of the playlist.

4 out of 5 stars Great Disney Music.......2006-02-21

I have bought the first 2 volumes of Disney's Greatest Hits and the 3rd volume doesn't disapoint. My 2 young children love to listen to this CD and talk about the movies that they come from. A definate must have!

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as Vol 1 and Vol 2.......2005-09-11

This Disney CD represents the "leftovers" that didn't make it on Vol 1 and Vol 2 of this series. Although it has some of my favorites, I don't listen to the entire CD often. Disney could have done a better job of editing the which sound files should make the cut on this one. Still, it's nice to have all 3 CDs.

While detractors may grouse that Pink's third album doesn't have a dance floor anthem on it like the incendiary "Get The Party Started" from 2001's Missundaztood, some prefer their Pink straight up and damn the paper drink umbrellas and crepe paper. She's at her very best raiding her own troubled autobiography for inspiration, spitting out vituperrious vocal epitaphs like seeds from a ripe watermelon instead of the angst-ridden confessional romp she took through Missundaztood. Maybe she's worked all that out on a psychiatrist's couch, because this time out her anger is much more arch and entertaining; likely due to her pairing with Rancid's Tim Armstrong, who co-wrote and produced most of the disc and certainly knows the value of turning rage into a well-crafted musical punch line. As unlikely as the collaboration looked on paper, it works perfectly because the Pennsylvania native has always brandished a punk sneer beneath the corsets, gaudy hair color, and naughty girl demeanor. Armstrong and his Rancid cohorts (Lars Frederiksen and Matt Freeman) inject feral rock action into the disc with their truncated guitar sounds and trash can drumming and provide a perfect foil for Pink's foul-mouth rants and backstage laments like "Last To Know." But Pink hasn't shaved her spiky coiffure into a Mohawk. She still smolders on a soulful ballad like "Catch Me While I'm Sleeping" or trades vitriol with raps' redoubtable sex kitten, Peaches. --Jaan Uhelszki

WOW PINK is ust another a no talent skank(Avril, britney, Cristina, jessica, ashlee)....who knew....

4 out of 5 stars It Was Worth The Trouble.......2007-02-04

So how do you like your Pink? She's not PG13 anymore, and frankly I'm delighted with that. This album is much darker, sexier, and more subversive than her previous two efforts. It has a more rock-oriented, slightly punk-tinged feel to it and the irony comes out in spades, particularly with song titles like "God Is A DJ" and lyric lines like "I swallow down all my fears/With a bottle made of silver/I've only been here for 27 years/But already my life is over" from the song "Unwind." Her voice is in top form and with the exception of "Catch Me While I'm Sleeping" and "Love Song," both of which sound rather half-baked, the remainder of the songs are excellent. This album served to surprise many dyed-in-the-wool Pink fans who expected this to be "Missundaztood, Part II."

The album artwork is also worth mentioning and leaves no doubt as to the direction that Pink wanted to go with the album. The front and back covers and the inside booklet contain beautiful photographs (both in black and white and in color) of Pink in a variety of different cabaret-inspired costumes. Her poses and expressions range from sultry to menacing.

It is easy to see that this album was not meant to be a rehash of "Missundaztood," nor is it an attempt to go completely rock. It is somewhere in the middle. Regardless of how one feels about pop singers making rock music, rock singers making pop music, or everyone making dance music, at least we can all be thankful that all of the rap and hip-hop guest singers had other things to do when this album was recorded, for they are present nowhere on it, and that may be the biggest surprise of all.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible.......2006-10-04

I went back and BMGed this one since everyone and their brother gave Im not dead such good ratings. Another stupid moved by me, never buy or listen to the majority, I like the opposite of them.

5 out of 5 stars Y'know what, I WOULD like to try that!.......2006-10-03

Dayum, girl, you're so fine you're almost a black girl. I bet you holla! And dayum if you can't sing better than most black girls. You sure you're white? I think you might have a little dab of color in the mix, Pink!

4 out of 5 stars Could've been better.......2006-07-29

I like Pink. I like her music, and her as a person. She's pop-rock, and Try This shows off every aspect of her music. She writes lyrics as good as the rest of the music, and this album shows that well. My problem is that she goes out of her rock stage for part of the album, which are my least favorite songs. They are good, but they're placed at odd points in the album. It has four fast-paced songs, then it goes to Catch me While I'm Sleeping, an extremely slow song, to Waiting for love, another slow song, to Save my Life, a faster song. I would've put Catch Me after Waiting for Love, but before Save my Life.

Trouble: 8.5/10 Great song, great single, and the best song to start off the CD.
God is a DJ: 8/10 Good, not great. Good dance track though.
Last to Know: 9.5/10 You want angry? You got angry.
Oh my God: 9/10 Fun song, good guitars.
Catch me While I'm Sleeping: 5/10 Ugh. It's slow, and not even a good slow song.
Waiting for Love: 10/10 Awesome. Sounds like a song Suzanne Vega would do.
Save my Life: 8.5/10 Happy-sounding song, and another dance song.
Try Too Hard: 7.5/10 Has potential, but fails to get it.
Humble Neighborhoods: 9/10 Great, and fun to sing along to.
Walk Away: 9/10 Awesome song, but isn't as catchy as some others on here.
Unwind: 9.5/10 The trumpets make the song.
Love Song: 3/10 Compared to Catch me, Catch me is a 9/10. Only reason to listen to it is...
Hooker (hidden track): 10/10 Second-best song, and especially a better angry song than Last to Know.

Overall, a buy. Only two songs are weak, but they're WEAK. Nothing holding them up. But if you like the singles, get it. If you like any of Pink's other material, buy it.

Neil Finn's solo debut carries much the same style and tone of his work with Crowded House--the intimate vocal delivery, the undeniably intelligent pop approach. What Try Whistling This lacks is a couple of cuts to break up the tastefulness that washes over everything; there's no noise like "Locked Out," no full-on heartbreak like "Better Be Home Soon." That's no reason for fans of the singer/songwriter not to buy this, but it's hard to see how it'll win many new listeners over to this occasional genius's side. --Rickey Wright

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars I very much liked Crowded House, but I ADORE this album...More than 5 stars!.......2007-02-26

Stumbled upon it when a local station played a song from it, the song hit my soul, I immediately bought it and I have played the CD to death. I mean, I am downloading it to itunes right now and noticing how somewhat worn it sounds. I will need a new copy.
Oh the melodies, so unique. The intricate rich arrangements, the fabulous musicians, the rhythmic beats that carry the melodies, Neil's incredibly emotional and beautiful voice, the deep lyrics that get better each time ... I can not go on enough about this beautiful incredibly artistic heartbreaking album. One of the best of all time. The man is a complete muscial genius, and now when I hear Crowded House I love THEM all the more. But this, this is truly an overlooked piece of musical perfection.

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite albums of all time.......2006-09-13

I became a Neil Finn fan late in the game, long after Crowded House had disbanded.

I'm a big CH fan now, but I am equally in love with this CD, which CH and non-CH fans alike should embrace equally. The lush opening strings of "Hand Me Down," the eerie, emotional darkness of "Sinner," the beautiful chords of "Faster Than Light," the unusual and quirky arrangements, all make this album an absolute classic.

Personally, I enjoyed this album much more than "One Nil"/"One All," which I think is more sappy and overproduced.

I wonder when he'll come out with his next one?

2 out of 5 stars Neil's least interesting project for decades.......2006-05-13

I've been a Neil Finn fan practically my whole adult life. First I become exposed to his brilliance via I Got You, the break through song of Split Enz a quarter of a century ago. That album, True Colours, is jam packed with great melodies and fun arrangements. Although their later albums did not match that peak, they were still enjoyable. When Crowded House became huge, I liked their albums ever more. Their first one, despite including the classic Don't Dream It's Over, is their least interesting one but during the final album, Together Alone, Neil Finn and Crowded House were making among the best music of that era.

I was obviously very excited when Neil Finn released (Try Whistling) this album; what would he deliver this time being alone and apparently with all the freedom to experiment? Before hearing the album in its entirety, I heard She Will Have Her Way and Sinner, both great tracks and worthy classics. She Will is a straight forward song in a Beatles-esque fashion whilst Sinner is a dark moody track with a haunting rhythm. Sadly, these were the only tracks worth any attention. The production of the album is very flat, everything very professional like but lacking an edge. The songs really never come to life. I tried several times listening to the album, hoping I would get it, but no, this is for me an album that lacked a creative spark, something I can't say about anything else I had heard by Neil Finn (his next studio album, live album and recent one with his brother are for example much better). Actually, this is the only Neil Finn release that has been a favorite of mine.

It is interesting but this album gets high marks from many reviewers, actually most reviewers. My sister and one of my best friends are also big Neil Finn fans. Their reaction to this album was, however, almost identical to mine, close to being boring and not living up to expectations. It was also a commercial failure so it will remain a mystery to me how many people enjoy it. My advice, however, is to leave this one alone and listen to practically everything else by Neil Finn.

5 out of 5 stars Essential.......2005-02-16

Try Whistling This is a great album. Neil Finn is at his songcrafting peak with this, his first solo album, and Crowded House's last album, Together Alone. Every song is a good one on this album.
Neil has released two albums since, another solo and one with his brother Tim. But neither of these compares with Try Whistling This or Together Alone. If you like melodic pop with good wordsmithing this album is for you.

5 out of 5 stars Great crisp lyrics...great crisp sound........2004-10-30

You know who Neil Finn is right? I hope you answered yes. Everything this man touches musically turns to gold. He is my favorite songwriter, and I think he has the best voice in music. His lyrics can be nebulous, but I always feel his emotion in his music. The instruments Neil uses in all of his works have an earthy quality to them. He makes good use of the organ thanks to his long-time companion Mitchell Froom on the Hammond. Neil Finn is the most underrated musician in the U.S. and maybe the world. I feel more emotion from his music than 90% of the top 40. Every track on this CD should be listened to carefully. My favorite track is probably "Sinner," but "King Tide" is right behind it. I usually have a least favorite track, but all of the other tracks are tied for 2nd. This is a gem for anyone out there who enjoys smart lyrics combed with melodies galore. The cover artwork for this CD was done by Neil's son Elroy. Elroy did a fine job too.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous for any Broadway-lover.......2007-01-30

Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

5 out of 5 stars Top Shelf.......2007-01-04

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful! Enjoyed it so much, it gives me a like an injection of energy. My absoulte favourites are track #1 trouble and #8 Save my life!

4 out of 5 stars Good cd & dvd combo.......2006-08-15

I actually liked 'Try This.' I really can't tell you what those immature children are talking about when they start referring to monkeys when describing this album. The album wasn't the best, nor the worst I've ever heard by P!nk. All-in-all, I found that buying the cd/dvd combo was a good choice. The explicit version of the cd has a secret song called "Hooker" about a minute after "Love Song". Also, the dvd has the 'Trouble' music video, behind the scenes footage, an interview with P!nk and an interactive lyrics menu.

5 out of 5 stars Pink Found a Place for Her Voice!.......2005-06-27

I own all of Pink's albums, Try This, Mizzundastood, and Can't Take Me Home, and "Try This" is definetely her best album to date.
Her image and strong voice didn't really suit the pop music that the record label was placing her against.
Working with Rancid's Tim Armstrong, and the legendary Linda Perry, Pink trully found her calling on this album.
From the opening guitar riff of "Trouble" to the almost Kanye West sounding "Catch Me While I'm Sleeping", and further on into "Humble Neighborhoods" a Blondie-esque tune, Pink struck it right with this under-selling album.
She deserves a lot of props for Try This. It's a big step away from her start with "Most Girls" and "You Make Me Sick". It's also more suiting for her voice and image.
There's a sound here for everyone. Pink really opened up lyrically, writing on all of the songs, and working very obviously side-by-side with Tim Armstrong and the other writers and producers. Peaches makes a guest appearance on Pink's self-proclaimed "sex" song "Oh My God", which is, indeed, a VERY sensual song.
The ballads are good as well, too, but not as note worthy as her more rock-driven songs. I didn't find a single song on the album that felt to me like "filler", nor did I find many problems with the album.
There's a hidden song called "Hooker" tacked on at the end of the album. It's kind've funny.
The bonus DVD features the video for "Trouble", directed by Sophie Muller, who produced several of No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom" era videos, and an inverview on her "Try This" album.
In conclusion, I believe that everyone should "Try This" and see what they think, you might be impressed.

4 out of 5 stars a different opion.......2005-03-24

yeah, p!nk did this cd differently. it is more like pop. but does that mean it is bad? i think not! she can change her music however she wants. and i think this cd is good. i like it the most probably cuz it is a little more like pop music. i like this cd and can't wait 2 buy it.

3 out of 5 stars Not what I expected..........2005-03-21

... to say the least. Linda Perry is absent from this album... a fatal mistake made by P!nk. The record is not as personal as her last and the rock edge doesn't work for this particular artist. Maybe next time...

One wouldn't imagine that a died-in-red-wool socialist agitator and spiritual offspring of Woody Guthrie would be able to make serious inroads in modern-rock radio, but Billy Bragg did indeed slip onto some playlists with 1991's Don't Try This at Home. Working with a full band (the Smiths' Johnny Marr and R.E.M.'s Peter Buck and Michael Stipe are among the guests) with bits of brass and strings shading the arrangements, Bragg came up with a surplus of hooky songs highlighted by the minor hit "Sexuality." Conflict both personal ("You Woke Up My Neighborhood," "Accident Waiting to Happen") and political ("Everywhere," "God's Footballer") intertwine among these 16 songs in customary Bragg fashion. Ultimately, Home stands as one of the Brit firebrand's most accessible efforts. --Steven Stolder

you need to have your head examined - MAN is it greatness!

5 out of 5 stars A tried and true songwriter.......2007-01-09

Billy Bragg has plenty to brag about. As a young British lad he has made writing songs an art and paralleled his abilities to artists like Leonard Cohen and James Taylor as a methodical master of modern folk and pop songwriting. This blisteringly brilliant solo album, which I was drawn to from the widespread success of the Wilco affiliated Mermaid Avenue albums, is off the kilter the best blend of soft, loud, acoustic, electric, stirring, catchy, cute, and snarling folk-pop that I have come across since the Mayans first predicted the Apocalypto.

5 out of 5 stars Loved It Even If I Didn't Want To.......2006-09-27

First of all, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm a Libertarian and probably disagree with 90% OF Bragg's Socialist Big Government solutions to all of the ills in this world. That being said, this album is 100% spectacular. I may argue politics with Billy but would never argue music. This is one of the finest collection of songs in the Folk/Rock genre of the last 50 years. Each song is tunefull in its own way. Even though some of the lyrics are banal (Sexuality comes immediately to mind) the power of the melodies and arrangements lift each selection. Tank Park Salute and Moving The Goalposts are simply beautiful and speak to human relationships that are common to all regardless of politics. North Sea Bubble is a flat out rocker that gives a small salute to Libertarian Thought. At least I'd like to think so. 5 Stars!!! Buy it and enjoy. In a world of tripe like Madonna and Britney, this is an all too rare gem. I can't reccomend it highly enough.

4 out of 5 stars Good in spite of itself........2004-04-29

I never realized it was possible to be less subtle than Natalie Merchant (or Midnight Oil!) with social commentary, but here it is; Bragg spoon-feeding listeners the morally correct position on issues one song at a time, with simplistic "tv movie of the week" messages: "Everywhere" - Booooo racism!, "North Sea Bubble" - Yaaaay, revolution!, and the albums real lemon, "Trust," which has Bragg singing an absurd little dirge from the now standard viewpoint of a gay man suffering from AIDS. AIDS is bad - Booooo AIDS! The first line of that one is "He's already been inside me..."
    Mmmmmm, subtle!

Other songs (Accident Waiting to Happen) trot out Bragg's familiar, posturing anger, with tin-ear lyrics ("you're a dedicated swallower of facism") that should have been dumped a few seconds after they were written down.

And yet there they are... overcoming every sachharine, maudlin urge Bragg can't contain, a really nice set of songs: Cindy of a Thousand Lives, Moving the Goalposts, Tank Park Salute, Wish you Were Her. Even the rollicking, dumb attempt at cross-over (Sexuality) is a good listen.

The CD is really uneven, but I continually pull it out. Amidst the wincing, I usually have a great time.

5 out of 5 stars Try this at Home!.......2002-12-08

It's hard enough to write well. It's even harder to write well when you have a political message. Billy Bragg was never shy about wearing his heart on his sleeve, here he combines his expression of beliefs with a musicality and poetry which anyone who has ever tried to write a 'message song' can only admire.

The songs have stayed fresh and, sadly, seem to become more relevant every day. The story of the two boys, one white and one Japanese American, in 'Everywhere'has echoes in the way that Arab Americans are now being regarded; but, the song's strength comes from the way Billy draws us in, we hurt for both boys - the one in the foxhole and the other in the internment camp.

This album tears me up, makes me think, makes me want to sing along and makes me wish that I could play the guitar. What more can you ask for?

Trouble, yeah, screams Pink. Yeah the trouble is that i can get enough of here. If God is a Dj, this is what he wants to play, when youre are in the dimension in between heaven and hell. This Cd has so many highpoints, that its difficult to choose one. But Walk away is my favourite Track 12, and also Track 8 Save my Life. So what is it with Walk Away . Its so likeable to like, after just one listening. The lyrics is like a short story. ( You had my heart, you had my soul. You had it all-didnt you ?). I still have Pink !. I realy look forward to the DVD from here European tour. Pink rules !

5 out of 5 stars Her Best Ever.......2005-01-13

I bought try this (explicit) and that was a mistake because i don't mind the explicit lyrics but i can't play it with my family and most of my friends. So i bought the clean version and i still love it. Buy the clean version. Please don't ignore this opinion to buy the clean version just because i'm a kid. It's way better. This is pink at her best.

5 out of 5 stars She out did herself.......2004-10-04

P!nk last relase is one of her best. I really enjoyed the whole cd but it seems short to me. I think she did herself justice with this cd. My favorite is Save My Life it is so pretty and just about anyone can relate to it. Walk Away is another on of my favorite because if you are with someone you know what she is talking about. But the one that over does save my life and walk away is Last to know. This song reminds me of Madonna Like A Prayer at the begaining before the beat comes in. She did a great job and I hope she keep up the good job.

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite albums.......2007-04-28

This is the album that made me want to play jazz. It's a fantastic album, but it's definitely a product of its time. All of the people complaining about the use of the EWI fail to take into account that this album was made in 1987, and the EWI was accepted as a good instrument for fusion playing. Yes, it sounds a bit dated now, but at the time, it was a revelation. And for all of you who think that the EWI sucks, go try and play one. It's very difficult, much more so than a standard tenor saxophone, so it makes the playing that much more remarkable.

Mr. Brecker's playing is absolutely mind-boggling on this CD. The opening track, "Itsbynne Reel" incorporates Irish folk music and an absolutely incredible solo. His use of the "super mixolydian" mode and phrasing put his playing a few levels above most of his contemporaries.

If you are one of those people that either subscribe to the Wynton Marsalis theory of jazz ("Swing+Blues=Jazz") or are only interested in the "head/solo/head/end" hard bop style of, say, Joe Lovano or Jerry Bergonzi, should probably look elsewhere. This is a Fusion album, and should be looked at as such.

3 out of 5 stars good, but not great.... .......2005-09-22

This release is a little more uneven than releases like Michael Brecker, Tales from the Hudson, or Time is of the Essence.

Maybe there was too much ambition behind this one (they toss in everything but the kitchen sink), or to many different sidemen for things to really gell.

When Brecker is playing tenor, he really blows...(as in great!) I could have used less of the EWI this time around. I loved the EWI playing a lot on Magnetic by Steps Ahead, but in most of the arrangements here I think the tenor is a better fit. A few of the tunes take a while to get cooking, only to fade out at the end... highlights include Scriabin, Don't Try This at Home, Talking to Myself, and the Gentleman and Hizzcaine.

I saw Brecker's live group a few times in the late eighties, and with Nussbaum, Calderazzo, Stern, and Andrews they were positively smokin'. This album just doesn't capture how good they were as a unit. Nussbaum absolutely killed on drums!

5 out of 5 stars Unique sounds from a true Genius.......2005-03-13

    This is a great album.

All you jazz police who rate this album poorly can pull your finger out of your ass and go f*ck yourselves.

Just because it doesn't sound like yet another droning unoriginal hard bop album, you dismiss it as something a "JAZZ lover" should not like.

Brecker has come up with some distinctive new sounds on this album.

Best tracks for me are: Chime This, Scriabin, Everything Happens When You're Gone and Talking to Myself.

To the guy who thinks the bonus track "The Gentleman & Hizcaine" is the best track: Get a clue ! - that is clearly the WORST track on the album. It IS kind of interesting, but it sounds like an afterthought.

PS: Cook and Morton suck !! (just thought I'd throw that in)

2 out of 5 stars Don't Try This Album at Home.......2001-12-31

Needless to say, His playing is nothing spectacular. His fusion experiment lyrically blew up in his face. This is an overratted album that I would not recommend to any JAZZ lover. On the left hand his "Tales from the Hudson" is a good modern era album. His flawless technique and great sidesmen keep the Album flowin'.

    2 out of 5 stars A compromise /a Brecker solo self-indulgence.......2001-05-28

The playing of Mr. Brecker is flawless, technically brilliant and energetic.

The problem is the music itself (the first seven cuts), along with the background players, are rather uninspiring/unenergetic and serve as a vehicle for Mr. Brecker to solo over

It is pity because of the last eighth cut which originally did not make the vinyl version.

The last cut stands out due to the originality of its quirky arrangement where all the musicians are playing great.

The passion and emotion exhibited in the playing of this cut is very noticable compared to the other cuts.

If all the cuts were similar in depth like the eighth cut, this recording would be considered a jazz fusion masterpiece.

While the first seven cuts are a cut above the easy listening lite jazz ala Kenny G, Larry Carleton, Earl Klugh etc; they appear to be a compromise between the uncommerciality and lack of self indulgence/ego satisfaction of Mr. Brecker in the eighth cut.

Such a compromise does not move me emotionally when listening to this cd, thus the low score, especially when it could have been much better if a such a compromise was not made.

If this cd was rated out of 10, it would get a 5/10
