What do you get when you combine Hip Hop with West Coast Rap? There can only be one answer and that is the explosive sound of the group "FUNK ADDICTS"! David Barreras and Rudy Subia have come a long way since the days of street rapping. They could usually be seen in the Bay Area in Cali. They have a variety of music that 's combined with Hip Hop . The group was branched off from the early 9O's Hip Hop group "FUTURE ATTRACTION" which had a hit single called "Smooth Groove". In the year 2001 David aka "DYB" and Rudy aka "RES", two Hispanic cousins resurrecting the group with a new sound for the streets. All their hard work is sure to pay off for them. what most people can't do in years of working they've accomplished in just a little bit of time. So keep your ears open for the West Coast sound of "FUNK ADDICTS".

"Hurricane" Jay LaBoy and In Step are truly great musicians, and their bebut CD, Step Aside, is not only a tribute to their influences but a testament of their skill and talent. Jay has come a long way from his hopeful beginnings, and his hard work and dedication to the music rings loud and clear in his astonishing guitar playing, as well as his singing. Michael Quintero-Moore lends a wonderful flavor with his bass and his vocals, especially in his delightfully enjoyable song "i ain't cryin' (i got my money in my shoe)". And no band would be complete without a great drummer, a job which Glenn Webb lives up to. With all original songs, this CD truly shows the greatness of this excellent band of musicians (though seeing them live is, indeed, a greater proof), and is a treat for even those typically not blues fanatics.

With passion and limitless energy, he and In Step awe the listener with 13 all-original tracks. From the tearfully contemplative 'Goin' Home' and 'A Blues Prayer' to the hilariously funky 'I Ain't Cryin' (I Kept My Money in My Shoe)', "Step Aside" merely hints at the electrifying performances audiences in small venues are treated to in the southeastern Pennsylvania area. Any distance traveled to see them live is worth every mile, and not just for the eerie feeling that you might actually be watching SRV's or Hendrix's ghosts playing through the hands of one 24 year-old man from Connecticut. They are extremely friendly and approachable, and never hesitate to sit down and share musical tips (or a shot of Crown) with a fan. I'm not much of an R&B fan but i love this album! His songs are all much different than your average R&B artist, much more creative, and REAL talent. Even though i rarely listen to R&B this cd has found its way into my rotation.

Gary J has a phenomenal voice with exceptional range in terms of his vocal stylings, perfect pitch and masterful control. Creatively,he's put a lot of different strokes into
this musical picture - sensual ballads ("Completely","Satisfy"), upbeat R&B dance cuts ("Swizzay", "I Just Want You Back" ,"You Just Can't Help Yourself"),and the witty "She's Too Gangsta For Me",a fresh take on the dating scene.His cover tune "In Loving You"
stands out as a kind of gospel-like R&B hymn with lyrics that can be read on several different levels.I was pleasantly surprised with this relatively new artist and look forward to his next release.
