Brass Construction? I must have forgot.......2005-03-24
This album has 3 hits. Movin, Changin, L-O-V-E you. The rest is fluff. Im sorry I bought it.
Yep....this is the one...........2004-12-11
See my review of "Golden Classics" by Brass Constraction.
This compilation has "Get Up, To Get Down"...essential funk, missing from other collection.
Enjoy the "uncomplicated" baselines / party grooves!
them horns.......1999-10-10
i've been waiting for this one.this disc and this group period was funky.movin was one of the baddest instrumental jams that i've ever heard period.can you see the light is a tight jam as well.one of the many bad groups from back in the day.
A collectors piece for funk/old-school lovers.......1999-05-31

Customer Reviews:
With Pleasure.......2006-07-20
Can anyone tell me about a song titled, "With Pleasure", made by the group Brass Construction. I remember hearing it when I was 10 years old way back in 1978 or 79. Please, some one help me find it. I thought maybe it was made by Con Funk Shun, but I didn't see it on any of there albums (CD'S). I also looked up Mass Production, however, I am almost positive that Brass Construction made it and I am desperatly seeking that song. Long Live Funk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brass Construction..........2005-11-19
For me this is a sentimental favorite. I really like "Movin," but the song for me was "Hot Cha Cha!" I can still hear the "One, Two, Hot Cha Cha..." ringing in my ears from my high school days. Brass Construction was an outstanding band with an outstanding, tight, professional sound! Get your copy and groove on! Five stars!
Overall, I give it 4.0 stars..........2004-12-11
Overall, I give it 4.0 stars (du2 not having the monster funk jam, "Get Up, To Get Down" and personal favorite of mine, "Attitude").
Randy Muller based jams consistently have a strong funky bassline, funky horns and Keys/synth/strings. Most hits are very danceable and have been sampled in house/dance tracks as
well as rapp.
Movin...
Classic Instrumental Monster (uptempo); heavily sampled on "Got Meself Together" by the Buckheads (which could easily be renamed, "Movin' '96 Remix"). Movin w/a deeper baseline...XLNT!
Right Place...
Another "head bopper"...baseline, horns....a Winner!
Walkin the Line / Can You See the Light....
Same classic formula, with dance/party feel.
Since Randy produced Skyy as well, try to get a greatest hits collection as well....you won't go wrong!!
timeless groove.......2003-07-03
its like a mix of stevie wonder's horns, isaac hayes' strings, and bernard edwards' bass riffs. brass construction at its best. definetly a must have! this cd never gets old! i could listen to brass construction jam out all day long!
The Horns don't Lie.......2000-07-17
Brass Construction gets right here.Movin' alone is a classic jam.one of the baddest Instrumental Grooves ever. Can You See The Light is a Bumping Jam as well.this was a Solid Self-Contained Unit.one of the Baddest Groups from the 70's that had a TImeless Quality&Groove.

Customer Reviews:
Chocolate City Revisited.......2000-05-16
Somewhere between P-Funk, Kool and The Gang, Trouble Funk and The Bar-Kays, and definitely up there with Fatback, Brass Construction did their thing. The grooves have a heavy bass bumpin' / rhythm guitar vibe to them. This band seemed to hit hard in the later '70s early '80s, but the sound is pure funk (Hey anybody remember Luther Rabb ? ). This is great bumpin' dance music. "What's on Your Mind" and other songs of there's have been heavily sampled by DJs - - The only thing that bugs me about this group is engineering... It sounds too... early '80s pop radio, even though the band itself is majorly hitting. I'll tell you this : They must have torn the roof off during their live gigs though and I strongly reccomend any of their CDs, if you're a funk-a-haulic.

Album Description
Brass Construction were formed on the East Coast of America in the 1970's. Led by Randy Muller they mixed hard funk with Big Band Jazz and Caribbean beats to create much loved dance floor tracks. In 1975 they signed to United Artists and released their debut album and from this, they released the first of their dance floor anthems, Movin' which topped the US R&B chart and was a Pop top 20 hit. This was quickly followed by Changin', from the same album. Ha Cha Cha (Funktion) also included in this collection, was released in 1977 and achieved similar commercial success. Later releases did not see the commercial success of the earlier singles but Brass Construction were a popular disco band with success on the dance floors of the UK and America. Every track is the full, extended version and as with all Something For The Weekend collections, all tracks are classics from soul weekenders. EMI. 2006.
