Product Description
Eldee Young and Isaac ‘Red' Holt began their careers as the stand-up bass player and drummer for Ramsey Lewis. After Lewis' success with The ‘In'Crowd, Young and Holt formed their own outfit and scored hits in the mid-60's with 'Soulful Strut' (sampled for Joss Stone's 'Don't Cha Wanna Ride') and 'Wack Wack' (which has become a hit in Europe again after being used in a TV spot). This 21-track compilation features those tracks along with jazzy cover versions of songs by the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Burt Bacharach and others. There are currently no Young Holt titles available in the U.S., which makes this a real treat for jazz and R&B fans. Edsel. 2005.
