While many hospitals across the country send new mums and babes home equipped with discs of classical music to soothe and gently stimulate babies' tender minds, Ultrasound brings together a delightfully well-rounded set specifically chosen for those still in the womb. Expectant moms will appreciate the effects of the mellow strains of Bach's Suite No. 3, the delicate playfulness of Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy," and Mozart's proven-to-make-you-smart Sonata for Two Pianos featuring André Previn. Debussy's "Clair de lune" is especially lovely as conducted and fluted by James Galway, and Leontyne Price is a warm blanket of comfort giving voice to Schubert's "Ave Maria." Indeed, these songs are aural balm to both parent and child long after birth. --Paige La Grone

5 out of 5 stars Grandmother's Review.......2007-05-21

I purchased this product for my expectant daughter, and she says that it is the best gift she has ever received. She, herself, finds the music very soothing and relaxing, and she is certain that it is wonderful for her child.

5 out of 5 stars great cd!.......2007-05-14

This is a fantastic product! I bought it to play for my unborn daughter and I started it when I was around five mos. pregnant. She moves all over the place when I put the headphones on my belly and I can even tell by her movements that she likes some songs more than others. I have done a lot of research into playing music for unborn babies, including the helpfulness as far as birthing positions when the music is played regularly. This cd fits the bill for all of the research I've done. It is completely worth the money!

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Love It!!!.......2007-04-02

I have a 6 month old daughter. I first purchased this CD when I was pregnant and would place my earphones on my belly for her to listen. I now use it in her room at bedtime and I absolutely love it. I have a collection of other CD's, but honestly this is my favorite. It is a very nice blend of songs. It is soothing for baby and parents. If you only buy one CD I would recommend you make it this one.

5 out of 5 stars My daughter loved this before she was born.......2006-12-15

When I was about 18 weeks pregnant I bought this and two other CDs of gentle classical music and played one of them for her every 2nd or 3rd night, putting headphones on my belly. I was actually skeptical about this being "music for the unborn" but she really did react to this one much more than anything else I ever played for her. If she hadn't been very active that day I could always lay down in the evening with the headphones and play her music, and she's wriggle around. She especially liked #5 and #10. :)

She didn't seem to have much connection to it after she arrived, but she does enjoy music in general. (She's currently almost 11 mo old.)

4 out of 5 stars enjoyable.......2006-08-03

I have enjoyed this cd thus far. If you have the money to spend, this is relaxing and enjoyable, however you can get similar music for free on your local classical station. So if you would rather save your money...just tune in on your radio dial. I am glad I bought the cd for the familiarity of the songs, but I also love just plain old classical radio.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!.......2007-06-27

This is an amazing album, of course for an amazing band. All the tracks are perfect, I have nothing really to say badly about this album. I recommend this type of music to people who listen to: Linkin Park, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Blink-182, Sum 41, etc. Of course I also recommend it for teen rockers.

5 out of 5 stars Soda shop/ jukebox days??? I don't know what you mean!.......2007-05-26

WATF are not doing rockabilly...this ain't Elvis!

How old is the first reviewer??

You don't have to be an "old-timer" glam lover to love this CD, I just happen to be that. I LOVE Bowie (all his stuff but especially the glam) The Sweet, Showwaddywaddy, T Rex/ Marc Bolan. This CD ranks right up there with the great early '70's glam and yet sounds throughly modern!

Where do I start??? I guess my favorites are "Now You Know", which starts off pounding and stomping but yet is infectious.

"Close Your Eyes" was a huge surprise for me. It's a slow song.On the second listening I realized why this song was a favorite. It sounds exactly like The Raspberries, the early '70's power pop band. Another of my long-time favorites. Lead singer Jeremy Lublin's voice is terrific and perfect for the song, but his voice maybe does not reach as high as Raspberry lead singer Eric Carmen's. I am so touched...really it's like hearing a new Raspberries song for me.

My other favorite song (so far--I've only had the CD a couple of days) is "Still Don't Know Your Name"...CLASSIC beautiful danceable glam...I swear I was working on the 'puter listening to it and had to stop to dance. Literally. I can't remember the last time a song made me dance like that..._

To sum up, don't pay any attention to the first reviewer. Listen to the song samples. Of course "Venus" is different than "Infinate Jest". The group is progressing. I am really hoping for huge good things to happen for this band this year.

3 out of 5 stars We Were The Fury..........2007-05-23

Let me start off by saying, if you're expecting to find the same pop-punky fever of Infinite Jest on this record, you're going to be very disappointed. This record could have easily blended in with other jukebox tunes of the soda shop years. Poodle skirts literally come to my mind. Although a few songs obviously don't fit in with that ideal, for the most part this record sounds very antiquated and cabaret-ish. For fans of that kind of music, this record will probably rock your world, but it's just not clicking for me. They're definitely a new We Are The Fury. Highlights of this record for me were Saturday Night and Don't Need A Thing (Tracks 8 & 11), that's about it though. Keeping in mind that my WATF all time favorites are Pretty Boy Fury and Better Off This Way, it's easy to see why this just isn't floating my boat, but you should definitely give it a try if you're a long time fan. (obviously).

    Album Description

The latest solo project from the distinctive voice of the founding member of Ambrosia. David's voice and songwriting skills are as fresh and vibrant as ever. "Songs are like children to songwriters. In thinking about this collection of tunes, they are like unborn children, only now thanks to you, they have a home."

    Customer Reviews:

    5 out of 5 stars Pack is a genius!.......2007-06-03

I don't understand why he has done only three albums... He is a great producer but also a great singer and guitarist! Please David, go on with your solo career!

5 out of 5 stars Milestone recordings from Ex-Ambrosia Frontman.......2006-06-26

I have just been listening to Unborn for the 2nd time in many
months and I'm just mesmerized by it's consistency and beauty.
Although these are supposedly demos Dave couldn't get a record
company or other artists to record- they all shine. "Future Glory", "You Make Love New", not any filler. Maybe he chose these diamonds out of many precious jewels. I wish more artists
could write melodies and lyrics or this caliber and actually place one on the charts. Dave, you will always be one of the most quintessential artists I love spinning in my player. Good luck guy!

    5 out of 5 stars MISLEADING SUBTITLE.......2005-07-13

If you're hesistant to buy this album because of its' subtitle ("Unreleased. Unrefined. Songs in the Raw 1985-1995"), don't be. That subtitle is misleading! There is not one song in this collection this not high quality and worthy of release.

I've been a fan of DP since he was with Ambrosia. He hooked me with "Biggest Part of Me" in the 80's and I've been listening ever since. I love all five of their studio albums and his solo one back in 1985. However, I have been curious as to what he's been doing artistically since that time; aside from successfully producing and writing songs for others. This album answered my question.

I can safely say that this guy STILL HAS IT! It is evident how much he has grown as an artist in regards to range & emotional depth. My personal favorites on this CD are "Natalie's Song", "N 2 Deep", and "The Last Time You Cry (Won't Be)".

I'm now waiting for his latest release "The Secret of Moving On" to come out later this month. I've heard sound samples on his website (www.davidpack.com) and they're great. Ambrosia fans will really appreciate his jazzy update of "You're The Only Woman".

Nice to see TRUE TALENT because it just gets better with time!!!

4 out of 5 stars Great Songs ! Great Songwriter !.......2005-05-24

The exleader of Ambrosia still writing great songs after all these years! This cd is a kalidescope of diffrent songs touching on different themes and emotions. Natalies song is a beutiful tribute/love song to the actress.Other songs have the ambrosia feel.
Overall this CD is a must have for Ambrosia and David Pack
    fans!

5 out of 5 stars Death melodic metal meets industrial metal..........2005-12-13

When I first listened to MORS PRINCIPIUM EST I recognized several styles mixed, as well as some bands they can name as influences...MORS PRINCIPIUM EST (MPE from now on) plays some kind of death melodic metal, combined with keyborads in an industrial metal atmosphere with diferent tempos and speed changes...

MPE has the speed, the tempos of bands such as At The Gates, Carnal Forge or Dimension Zero, the melodies and blazing riffs of swedish outfits such as At The Gates, Darkane or Soilwork, mixed together with industrial touches more proper of Strapping Young Lad...The keyboards create an apocalyptic atmosphere, giving MPE's approach a more progressive touch, with riffs that climb to higher levels with higher tones resulting not only in an original recipe, but loaded with emotions as well...
The singer remains me to HATESPHERE's Jacob Bredahl and DIMMU BORGIR'S Shagrath, with a more gutural style...
You'll find brutal and short songs such as "Altered State Of Consciosness" or "Unborn", and longer songs like "Pure"... Pesonally I prefer the short songs, because in the longest ones the bands tends to repeat them selves pointlessly...

In this album the industrial influences are more obvious, both in sound and music, setting a difference from their previous album "Inhumanity", which I recommend without a doubt...But in "UNBORN", MPE really made something "different" in the metal scene...As a bonus track you have "Blood oF Heroes", a MEGADETH Cover...

Anyway, In the metal desert of monotony and mediocrity, MPE managed to be an oasis with an original proposal that deserves not to remain in the unknown...

    5 out of 5 stars Chilling..........2005-07-11

Not too much originality here as far as melodic death goes, but the music is far superior to many melodic death bands out there. If you are looking for a good melodic death band, Mors Principium Est is it. Their music, as I would describe it, sounds epic simply because of the fact that they have a keyboardist and songs that do not have a repetitive formula. Their songs are both interpretive and heavy, as well as catchy. Heck, in Unborn they even have a female singer doing some singing. What more could you ask for? Melodic death metal has really evolved from being very thrashy and fast (At the Gates, old Soilwork) to something that shows plenty of beauty. Get this.

If early 70's glam and late 70's post punk had a love child in 2005, We Are The Fury would be it. However, they're not your average lo-fi regurgitation. With influences ranging from Bowie and T-Rex to Talking Heads and Television, We Are The Fury reveal a truly unique sound and style. For fans of Head Automatica, Hot Hot Heat, Ima Robot, and My Chemical Romance. Produced by Tim Patalan (Lovedrug, Sponge, The Fags).

5 out of 5 stars Up And Coming!.......2006-09-24

This band is amazing! I have listened to this EP a thousand times, and it has yet to get old. They have a huge future, and yet are not like every other dance rock band as everyone keeps saying. Hot Hot Heat is great. but they don't have near the energy or the attitude this band does.

Keep your eyes on these guys! They will be rocking arenas near you soon! And if you don't see them, you are missing a lot! And try to meet them! They are so much fun to hang out with!!!

    Buy it!!!

2 out of 5 stars More of the same.........2006-04-12

In the era of dance-pop, I've gotten rather bored of the contrived, typical Killers/Bravery/Hot Hot Heat/[...] craze, so undoubtedly listening to another band doing the same synth powered dance pop rock jams was a bad move. "Infinite Jest" is the debut EP from a band who are no doubt bound to see big things in the next year or so. So how is it, honestly?

The production's there, and the band's obvious sense of what they want to do is solid. I'll give them that--they want to be Hot Hot Heat, and they do it well.

Needless to say, I was instantly turned off by the contrived, obvious similarity to every other dance/pop act out there (see Hot Hot Heat, ImaRobot, the Killers, Bravery, and blah blah blah), and while at moments I almost found myself tapping my toe, I can't say I can enjoy this at all. "Anesthetic Parade" has its moments, with its blazing, almost punk guitars and expected but still classy synth backing but the squealing from the band's singer kills the verse. The chorus has a sense of nice melody at catchiness to it, but again the similarity to just about everything I have heard is just too strong to ignore.

I must be the only one who is completely sick of this, because bands like this keep on sprouting up, but I figure, hey, what's a few words of honesty about how dispecable I think this band is going to do? They're going to be huge anyways. So if you're into the whole Hot Hot [...]craze, go for it and pick it up, you won't be disappointed--it's got everything you want in that case.

5 out of 5 stars Saw them live in Austin--Wow!.......2006-03-28

These guys played a great set in Austin and I also saw them play in San Antonio. I bought their EP right after and it's been in my car for weeks. Buy it-you'll like it!

    5 out of 5 stars Wow! Excellent!.......2006-03-23

Not sure where the other reviewer is coming from as my CD is almost always playing - luv it! Great beat, backgrounds... The only way you'd be sorry is because you're listening to it often and not doing other stuff.

    1 out of 5 stars Just awful!.......2006-02-10

    The Good
I only had to sit through five songs. I really dug the model on the cover too.

    The Bad
I tried and tried to find something good about this release, but every time I thought I had something, I was reminded at how piercing, whiney, annoying, and out-of-tune the vocals were. The band has some decent beats and chord changes similar to 70s David Bowie and more recently Jet. However, Jeremy Lublin's vocals are so accentuated and over-emphasized to mimic the style of late 70s glam and post punk, that they are jarring to the ear and impossible to enjoy. Despite his American roots, Lublin does a great job of sounding like every British punk band frontman that didn't quite have it. Perhaps if he was backed up by hard charging punk rock distortion and frantic chord changes, things would be different.

    The Verdict
    Just awful!

5 out of 5 stars beautiful lyrics from beautiful artist.......2003-09-17

Lazarus (Trevor Montgomery) has created an original, emotional, and beautiful collection of music here. I have seen him live a few times in the bay area, an experience which leaves no question as to the depth and importance of what he is trying to say. I have also heard an EP that is just powerful, if not more so, than this album. I hope to see more from him soon.

5 out of 5 stars Burn the highways and feel the weight of the land..........2003-05-21

This album is beautiful. Trevor Montgomery sings directly form his heart. The songs are simple and the extra layers of production are disarmingly subtle. Crispy voices, crinkly, twinkly synths, woody cello and ghostly field recordings adorn these melancholic but ultimately hopeful acoustic reveries.
