Customer Reviews:
pretty good.......2005-05-24
the last reviewer has obviouslly been living under a rock. i dont even live in australia and have already discovered hilltop hoods, lazy grey, koolism and brad strut. what does he mean this is all the industry has to offer?
the album aint as bad as he makes out, for the most part its actually pretty damn good. but i have to say "fork in the road" is a terrible song. the singer on the hook, CANT SING. hes too loud and im sure it sout of tune, maybe it just painful to listen to. i dont care if hes aaliyas brother, he obviouslly didnt get the same skills she did. that track was just way to pop for me to enjoy.
the rest of the album is pretty hip hop, the rhymes are well crafted for the most part, and even though they dont really say much, its clear they can emcee. who cares if they brag and boast alot? im afraid every emcee i can recall brags and boasts in his rhymes. its part of the culture. it stems all teh way from battling. if you take out the competitive "im better than you" edge, you dont have part of what makes hip hop, hip hop.
buy this album. but hilltop hoods are better.
Fallible Consistency Theory.......2004-02-10
Well, unfortunatley this is all the Australian music industry is willing to offer in Oz hip-hop. Melbourne is the home of many great musical forrays, which include all genres that are encompassed on this album. But all we receive in the public mainstream is this group who can only bragg and boast on boring and irrelevant b.s. I don't mean to sound to harsh, b/c there is some good tight production and a an inclusion of ethics which scratch the surfice of socialist dynamics. I think those who have heard the album have nothing new or inspiring inserted into their memory bank. We simply want better. We know its out there.
