5 out of 5 stars Comfort food...............2004-04-09

This Cd gives us songs we have loved throughout our lives. Catchy tunes like "Mustang Sally" really set the mood for the fabulous instumentals and vocals. It is hard not to dance around your house while listening to these memorable songs. It's a happy "hip swinging","feet sliding" experience and the songs stick with you all day long.....I love this CD. It puts me in such a good mood so quickly !! Even my dog likes to dance around the house with me, he really digs it !! I suppose you could live without this CD, but why would you want to?

5 out of 5 stars Swamp Pop Music at its Best.......2003-06-25

I would buy this again just for the first track. If you are looking for some truly great music to get your soul retuned, this is it. Trust me when I say it will become your most listened to cd in your collection if you are a fan of soul music. Try to see thse guys live if possible, they put on one hell of a show.

4 out of 5 stars Charter Member Of The One-Hit Wonder Club.......2007-08-01

If you're a completist collector of hit singles, I have to agree with another reviewer who recommends grabbing this album. Simply because this is likely the ONLY place you're ever going to see both sides of her one hit single: Walking My Cat Named Dog [# 22 Billboard Hot 100 in 1968 for the New Voice label] b/w I'm The Sky.

A singer in the style, but not quite the quality, of Buffy Saint-Marie and Sylvia Tyson, nothing else Norma did ever captured the public's attention. Which perhaps explains why the other reviewer found her LP in the 99 cent bin those many years ago.

3 out of 5 stars Walkin' My Cat Named Dog.......2007-05-07

The only reason I have for not giving Norma Tanega's album a higher rating is I'm not especially fond of her music. However I remembered, from my post high school years, her song "Walkin' My Cat Named Dog." It's kind of a catchy tune/song and since my wife and I were recently acquired/adopted by a stray male tabby cat whose characteristics, antics and general behavior were more like that of a dog than a cat we decided to name him Dog. Since we had become the proud caretakers of a "Cat Named Dog" we felt an obligation to acquire Norma Tanega's song about such a cat...our cat, that is.

4 out of 5 stars Great Music bad pressing.......2007-03-30

I was a very disappointed in the quality of this CD. The music is great; great nostalgia. I had this LP when it first came out and loved it and was excited to have it available on CD. The sound quality is terrible: hissing, noise; sounds like it was made from an LP in none too good condition.

Also I was surprised that a hole was drilled through the CD case--isn't this something retailers do when a manufacturer discontinues and item--similar to ripping off the cover of a paperback book?

5 out of 5 stars excellent.......1999-11-02

I remember when I was 12 years old, I bought the album "Walking My Cat Named Dog" in a 99 cent bin at Montgomery Wards. It is one of my favorite albums of all time. Check out the tracks "Jubliation" to be happy and free and share the greatness of freedom "Don't Touch" the warning song to people who can be easily mislead by others and "No Stranger Am I" a beautiful love song, a song that Norma only could sing. When you listen to Norma Tanega's lyrics they are thoughtful, truthful, and sharing. Those lyrics were written over 30 years ago, and to this very day, they still apply. It is a must have for a collector who enjoys spiritual freedom, and whom can caress the beauty of life. I highly recommend it

1 out of 5 stars it wasn't very good..........2005-05-14

I personally didn't like it, just my opinion. I don't usually buy soundtracks but the music on this one wasn't very good!

1 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE!.......2005-05-14

OMG, this is really not a very good CD... why would you want to buy a soundtrack for a horror movie anyway? and listen to people talk on it... honestly! It's really a pointless CD and a waste of money!

3 out of 5 stars David Hess is NOT on this CD!.......2005-01-28

A search for David Hess turned up this CD, which he is NOT on. David contributed SIX songs to the Cabin Fever Soundtrack, including the closing credits. Do not buy this CD if you are expecting to hear David Hess music from the film, those songs are available separately from David Hess at his own .com

5 out of 5 stars Awesom Stuff.......2003-09-19

The Cabin Fever soundtrack captures all the fun and insanity that makes the movie such a riot to watch. The soundtrack features a few cool songs from the movie (The Turtleneck's song is hilarious) as well as some well placed dialogue cuts, but for the most part this soundtrack is a show piece for Nathan Barr and Angeleo Badalamenti. Nathan's tracks are great mood pieces that work great with the film and would make great Holloween music if you need some for a haunted house. As far as Angelo's work goes...it's awesome. His stuff is more subtle than Nathan's work and its adds a nice contrast to the other tracks. Some tracks feel like they came straight out of Twin Peaks. Great stuff! I highly recommend this soundtrack!!

Comprised of 12 tracks pulled from the Death Row Records rubble, this is the album that Snoop Dogg doesn't want you to hear. Why? Because these songs come straight from the studio floor. Disrespectfully titled Dead Man Walking by imprisoned Death Row president Suge Knight, the album hashes together unreleased and early versions of cuts from Snoop's Doggfather and No Limit Top Dog eras. "Head Doctor" features uncredited guest vocals from Raphael Saadiq and Tha Dogg Pound make saving appearances on the keyboard- and snare-driven "Tommy Boy" and "Cee Walkin'." The slow dragging funk of "Too Black" offers a hypnotic jazz feel. But the album's best offering is "Change Gone Come," with its eerie synthesizers and rippling bass line. If you want everything Snoop this ain't bad. But for the nonfanatic, there just isn't enough cream in this crop. --Kenji Jasper

2 out of 5 stars A boring collection of rejected Snoop Dogg songs.......2007-05-15

Is there any point to owning this collection of rejected work that even Snoop Dogg himself didn't want released? Unless you're a hardcore fan of Doggy Dogg, then no. Some of the songs, like 'Too Black', 'County Blues', and 'Change Gon Come' are aiight... but that's only because the rest of the album is whack and forgettable. There's a reason why Snoop Dogg didn't want this album released, the vast majority of the songs on here are bland and forgettable. Skip it.

3 out of 5 stars The 3 Stars Are NOT For Snoop Read Below---.......2007-05-06

This album is not a new (for 2000)album between Top Dogg and Last Meal; this is a collective of older material. Believe it or not, the songs are dope to classic Snoop Dogg, but if all the reading I did is correct, this album was released without Snoop's desire (perhap's Death Row's Snoop Doggy Dogg's Greatest Hits was too), perhaps by Death Row's faltering empire trying to squeeze out as much money as possible. The songs are dope though, and the music is not why this album garners a 3 star rating. I respect Snoop Dogg's legacy, and if I found out about this before buying this I would just have to refuse buying this make due without classic tracks like "Hit Rocks" a real Snoop banger with a fantastic G-Funk beat, and "Change Gone Come" and the bouncy upbeat feel of bangers like "May I" gangstger inflected "Gangsta Walk." The beats on this album are hot as are the songs which remind the listener of the old Snoop, the loccest crip outta LBC with that laid back flow. The 3 stars are for the good music, and the missing 2 stars are for the rip-off of Snoop's music. If I'da known it, I probably would of passed this on in support of Snoop.

4 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy This.......2006-10-14

To be honest I did buy this, but when I found out who I had supported I kicked myself. The songs are great which is why I gave it four stars but do not support Suge Knight!!! Suge Knight is a horrible person and is very likely resonsable for Tupac's death, and to get his hands on peoples hard earned money he whips up stuff like this. Download this because all the songs are great but do not support Suge Knight by buyi ng this or any other money making propaganda his selling.

5 out of 5 stars VINTAGE SNOOP DOGGY DOGG!!!.......2006-08-28

Thats right I said it vintage Snoop Doggy Dogg not this commercial weirdo(Snoop Dogg)that we are hearing today. This is his best album next to Doggystyle and this makes Doggfather a distant memory. Snoop still had that excellent flow he had on his very first album before he traded it for the lethargic style of rapping he has now. Standout tracks: MAY I, C-WALKIN, TOMMY BOY, CHANGE GONE COME, GANGSTA WALK, TOO BLACK, MY FAVORITE COLOR, I WILL SURVIVE, HIT ROCKS, HEAD DOCTOR etc. Filler: County Blues sounds very awkward and the cheesy harmonica doesnt make things any better for the song. All in all this is a classic that makes every one of Snoop's albums that came after Doggfather a distant memory. No wonder he is mad about Suge putting this album out! Suge is putting out his best work while he is putting out his worst!

5 out of 5 stars Great Snoop Doggy Dogg.......2006-07-11

This is a collection of unreleased Snoop from his Deathrow days and i'm very glad that they made this. Snoop lost his talent after he left Deathrow and started making albums that just don't last. However I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm very happy that Snoop gave us this treasure. these songs were unreleased but they are definitely not bottom of the barrel material. The album kicks of with May I which is a favourite of mine and a great start to the album then follows on with great other tracks like C-Walkin, Head Doctor, Too Black, Gangsta Walk, County Blues, My Favourite Color, Me And My Doggs and more great tracks.

Maybe its just because Snoop was really focused back then and didn't make any bad songs. If you like this you will have to like the other Snoop Doggy Dogg albums like The Chronic, Doggysytle, Murder Was The Case Soundtrack, Tha Doggfather and Death Row's Snoop Doggy Dogg's Greatest Hits.

They made this to end an era, the era of Snoop Doggy Dogg click add to cart now, do not alow yourself to miss some of Snoop's best work.
