2 out of 5 stars Not My Style.......2007-05-11

This CD has a lot of good songs on it, but it just too bland for our taste. We prefer Western music to sound as though genuine cowboys are singing it - not a fancy chorus!

5 out of 5 stars Rockin' Western Collection.......2006-08-28

For anyone who likes movie/tv music from westerns should purchase this CD. What a wonderful collection of both film and tv with great renditions of each piece. I'm about to purchase Vol. 1 to complete my collection.

5 out of 5 stars Hard to Find Great Western Themes .......2006-03-16

This CD has a number of great western themes that are not in some of the standard lists. For example it includes "The Hallejuah Trail", "Blazing Saddles", and "Giant". This CD also has what I consider the true theme of "The Comancheros". I have been disappointed with some other CDs I have purchased listing "The Comancheros" which had a song rather than this theme. Many of the tracks on this two disk CD go beyond the main theme music and are actually suites. The "Big Country" and "How the West Was Won" are just a couple of examples. It may be a little more expense than some CDs, but not bad for a two disk set. I am really happy with my purchase.

4 out of 5 stars Western Music.......2005-07-29

I enjoy this CD. It has many familiar melodies. Good background for reading, nice to listen while driving. It is also the only CD I've ever found that has the great theme from the movie "Giant."

5 out of 5 stars A great follow-up.......2003-08-29

This is the second collection by SilvaScreen, who are also responsible for "The Wild West: The Essential Western Film Music Collection" (see my review). And it's just as good as the first. There are themes in here that everyone will recognize ("Bonanza," "A Fistful of Dollars"), themes that may not be so familiar ("Duel in the Sun," "The Hanging Tree," the lively "Blazing Saddles"), and even themes you may not associate with Westerns at all ("The Friendly Persuasion"). And no duplication either: when this disc includes a piece from one of the same sources covered in its predecessor, it's a different piece. One great treat: the full lyrics to "Gunfight at OK Corral," which I've never heard outside the soundtrack of the movie itself. The arrangement from "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" includes not only the familiar song "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" but an overview of the music--seguing almost seamlessly into Bernstein's magnificent "The Comancheros," a rare find indeed. An expensive item, but if you love Western film music, well worth it.

5 out of 5 stars music frm the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.......2007-08-01

If you like instrumentals, you wont be disappointed with Montenegro's The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. You can picture yourself setting around a camp fire, out out in the middle of nowhere with this music. It is very captivating. My wife and I fight over it all the time.

4 out of 5 stars Music from'The Good, The Bad And The Ugly' & 'A Fistful Of Dollars' &'For A Few Dollars More'.......2007-06-13

I grew up with the Spaggetti Westerns and these were my favorite, so when I had a chance to purchase on CD what I had on vinyl I grabbed the chance. The music gives on the sense of power, suspense, and feeling macho of being there and standing down an oppenent.

2 out of 5 stars Has No Pizzaz.......2007-04-12

This is pleasant enough listening, but after hearing the original performances, this is a watered-down version that has none of the haunting, sharp and unique sound that the originals had. I remember this album cover very well when it was first released as an LP record and a lot of copies must have sold. I am not sure why. Just buy the original soundtracks instead of this poor substitute.

3 out of 5 stars NOT the original motion picture soundtrack ........2007-02-22

This is not the original motion picture soundtrack . I felt disappointed , and a little bet insulted when I first listened to this album . the wild cries in the good , the bad and the ugly theme got replaced with flutes , guitars and drums - not the marching band drums but the beach boys drums - are included in all the tracks , and the macho chants muffled .

This is , shall we say the danceable version , the tribute version , the lounge music version , the politically correct version , an elevator music version and to sum it all up , not the original motion picture soundtrack.

It still manages to give the illusion of listening to the original, but that's it .

Should've paid more attention to other customer reviews , not just the ones on the top.I wouldn't have bought it if I new it was a tribute album .

Pick up the originals if you want to relive those wild and fresh scenes from the trilogy.

5 out of 5 stars Fresh Sound.......2007-03-03

What a great CD. Such a fresh sound. Really sounds like she is having fun when she is singing. What a unique style. I will seek out other SC CD's after hearing this masterpiece.

5 out of 5 stars If I Were Brave..........2006-12-27

In the late 90's Shawn Colvin was one of many in the "angry female singer with guitar" genre. However she is one of the few to not only outlast but to PREDATE this trend. Shawn has been running her own show from the ground up for years and put out consistantly (albiet long-awaited) solid work throwing back memories of Carly Simon and Carol King in terms of emotional poingnancy and clarity. Her work is evocative in its lyrics and in its overall sound and feel.

A Few Small Repairs was the album that put Shawn Colvin on the mainstream map and it's not hard to see why: The album title is taken from the first song (and the biggest single) Sonny Came Home: A hard-edged, slightly-lilting guitar hook filled with urgency immediatly pulls one into the emotional trip this album takes. Shawn seems primarily concerned on this album with finding meaning in life and doing what it takes to be happy. This takes many forms: Sonny Came Home is clearly one woman's escape from an abusive spouse. Several other songs on the album point to this "broken relationship" theme.

This is all pretty standard fare but in my opinion the true emotional center of the album comes from "If I Were Brave." Colvin speaks an indesputible truth: She is trying to do the best that she can and try as she might...her song uses biting irony to show that sometimes you can't be more than you are by simply putting on a "brave" facade for the world and trying to live a life that is not true to your nature. This reviewer has seen clarity of prose and verse like this only amongst some of the finest songwriters of our time.

3 out of 5 stars I like it but..........2006-09-05

This is a good cd but this artist has so much more substance live. Her accompanying guitar player was very expressive. I saw them live on (I think) soundstage and she was really good. These songs took on a different light in a live context.

4 out of 5 stars Folk-rock at its best.......2006-05-07

Having recently delved into the folk and folk-rock genres, I came upon Shawn Culvin. Had I known she was the singer-songwriter who sang "Sunny Came Home" I'd have probably gotten her CD a long time ago, since that song was hugely famous in my pre-teenage years. The aforementioned "Sunny" is brilliant in every sense, and definitely deserved its Grammy wins for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. The rest of the album is surprisingly consistent; "Get Out Of This House" is darn near as listenable as "Sunny Came Home," but not quite. "The Facts About Jimmy" is brilliant as well. A Few Small Repairs is definitely a worthwhile addition to any serious music fan's collection.

5 out of 5 stars The haunting, enigmatic, 'Sunny Came Home' is.......2006-01-22

simply a masterpiece. A net search of various interpretations of this piece yeilds many of them. Art, good art, in my opinion, summons the listener's imagination and "Sunny Came Home" certainly does that. Especially the rendering of conscious and subconscious dialogue by Sunny. Oddly, the CD version is much better than what I initially heard on broadcast, which is an added plus for those of us who bought this album. It's also a tireless tune that does not get tiresome with each listening. Shawn's other songs on this CD are pretty darned good as well. Perfection is hard to describe but this is my best shot at describing "Sunny Came Home."

This collection of eleven house oriented tracks includes a fresh take on her smash hit "I Think We're Alone Now" and a remix by the up and coming dance duo "Second Sun." Finding her stride on this energetic and brilliantly crafted album, Tiffany's unique and mesmerizing voice is reminiscent of Aretha and Anastacia at their soulful best, and will leave you breathless.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Appropriate Album Title for a Terrific Album.......2007-04-16

When it comes to Tiffany (and several other 1980's singers) the problem is that fans, critics and people who aren't fans won't let the singer "grow up" so to speak. They label each new album the artist puts out after 1990 as a "comeback", but really, how many times can someone make a comeback? Well, Tiffany has done it at least three times, and "Dust off and Dance" is another great album by the former teen-queen, far superior to any of the present so-called teen-queens. It should be noted, that Tiffany's album prior to this one, "The Color of Silence" is another superpb album, but with an entire different feel to it.

"Dust off and Dance", is quite likely to be a reference to Tiffany herself dusting off the past (be it harsh reviewes, haters, or the mood of "The Color of Silence"), and quite literally just dancing. At least "Dust off and Dance" doesn't try to be anything more than a dance / disco / Hi NRG album - and a fantastic one at that. Production blends the best of modern day sounds with a bit of the 80's, combined with Tiffany's powerful voice and some great lyrics, most of which are written by her, resulting in an album that is easy to listen to over and over again.

The songs may not seem as deep on the surface as those from her previous album, but they all tell a story and do have important meanings to them, like enjoying life as it is so short. Some of the songs and lyrics are a bit suggestive, but the album was written, according to Tiffany, with her gay fans in mind. It's also appropriate for the dance floor (obviously). While the overall mood of the album is upbeat, there are a couple of ballads, but even they are upbeat. It's great to see that the album has been getting some play on the hit TV series "Ugly Betty". The biggest problem with the album though is that it is too short - only eleven songs, two of which are remixes. But hey, quality over quantity anyday.

Highlights: Be With U Tonite, Ride It, Na Na Na

Low Points: Kama Sutra, I Think We're Alone Now (remix)

5 out of 5 stars kids point of view.......2007-04-04

cd was for my daughter and she thought it was excellent.

3 out of 5 stars A good attempt to comeback.......2007-01-11

Not one of Tiffany's best work. This disco-ish CD is ok, not the Tiffany that we're all familiar with. It's nice to see she's still recording, but it doesn't measure up to her earlier work. Her last CD "Color of Silence" was excellent, the songs were great. Had more feeling in it. If you're a Tiffany fan like me, then add this to your collection.

2 out of 5 stars 2 and half - Not Quite What I've been Expected..........2007-01-10

Well, I have to say I only start to know and love Tiffany from her come back 6 years ago, with some amazing songs like "Open My Eyes" and the exceptionally heart melting "If Only". I have absolute no idea what sort of her music in the 90s or 80s and have no intention of exploring it since the pop music from those period is a bit odd for me. Since this album was rather new and the review said it relflects her best in the past, I decided to buy it. There are some songs that quite upbeat, with lots of catchy tunes but I still prefer her previous work. This album is a bit blend, lack of emotion and there are some songs just sound alike. It's unavoidable since Trance and House just got a limited sound effect to play around with in the arragement, I think you know what I mean. Anyway, if you looking for a feel good family or even birthday party, you can go with this one. But if you fond of flowing with emotion and smooth melodies, then the last album would be the best choice.

4 out of 5 stars High Energy Club Music.......2006-08-14

Well U have to be a fan of pop or club music to really enjoy this latest CD of Tiffany's .Her latetest effort is a complete 180 from her last cd THE COLOR OF SILENCE but I luv both due to the fact u get to listen to her great vocals but with that said Dust Off And Dance is the correct title for this So Get This if U WANNA DANCE! When Robert Cray and the Fabulous Thunderbirds turned their similar combinations of Texas blues and Memphis soul into hit records in 1986, bar bands all across this land thought they had glimpsed the promised land of a long-awaited blues revival. There has been a flood of soul-blues releases since then, many of which have been respectable, even admirable, but they have lacked the two essential ingredients that gave the genre its artistic peak 30 years ago, as well as its brief resurgence 20 years later--terrific songs and outstanding singers. Delbert McClinton's One of the Fortunate Few has both those elements. The guest vocalists include Mavis Staples, Lyle Lovett, Patty Loveless, Pam Tillis, and Vince Gill, but it's McClinton's own coarse-grained Texas baritone--as supple as a snake and as definitive in its bite--that dominates the soundscape. And it's McClinton's co-producer and cowriter, Gary Nicholson, who makes the difference in the material. Nicholson, whose day job is writing mainstream-country hits, indulges his blues jones at night and has come up with rollicking uptempo numbers and gospel-drenched ballads.

Most importantly, Nicholson's lyrics contain both the irreverent wit that Cray lacks and the confessional angst lacking in the T-Birds. The humor crackles in McClinton's belt-it-out vocal on "Old Weakness (Coming on Strong)" and an aching need is felt in his restrained duet with Staples on "Somebody to Love You." --Geoffrey Himes

This album rocks! There is only one cry in your beer song. The rest boogie.

1 out of 5 stars half-baked blues.......2007-01-15

where is the title tune? why is it missing from this CD?

poorly-written tunes. this whole thing comes across as bogus to me.

want the real blues? won't find it here.

The only reason I bought this CD is because I wanted to hear ONE OF THE FORTUNATE FEW--but guess what??? It isn't on this CD.

I want my money back.

4 out of 5 stars Except for the misleading title..........2007-01-04

This is an excellent Delbert CD; HOWEVER! If you're looking for his SONG "One Of The Fortunate Few", it's not on this album. THAT little ditty is on his album "Cost Of Living", which is worth its cost, just for that one track, although the rest of the CD is Delbert at his best!

5 out of 5 stars One of Delbert's Best Albums!.......2006-12-07

I bought this fifth album of Delbert McClinton's expecting to be entertained and wasn't disappointed. It has turned out to be one of my favorite collections, from the catchy tune "Too Much Stuff", to the more serious song, "You Were Never Mine".

Definitely a winner!

4 out of 5 stars Delbert always fun to listen to, here is no different.......2005-10-26

Delbert McClinton has one of those great bluesy voices that sounds so "regular" that you think you could do it, but in reality its got a depth and quality that is hard to match. On this album he really has some fun, and that howl is unmistakable. Sending Me Angels is a personal fave with him getting help from country greats Vince Gill on vocals and Lee Roy Parnell on slide guitar. Old Weakness calls to mind the fun lovin Stones classic honkytonk woman. and Leap of Faith cheesy as it might sound can perk up a dreary day with no problem.

Those tracks are: "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", "A Fistful of DOllars", "For a Few Dollars More", and "Two Mules for Sister Sara". "In The Line Of Fire' also appeared on that CD, performed electronically by Mark Ayres.

The next bunch of tracks is from Silva Screen's 1996 compilation, "Cinema Paradise: The Classic Film Music of Ennio Morricone", which included the majority of tracks here such as the extensive The Mission Suite, The Untouchables, Casulaties of War, Once Upon a Time In America, 1900, Chi Mai, Marco Polo, Once Upon a Time In The West (two tracks), Cinema Paradise, and The Good the Bad and the Ugly - Ecstacy of Gold, mostly being conducted by Paul Bateman, with Nic Raine doing some of the conducting duties as well.

Hamlet is from Silva's 1997 "Cinema's Classic Romances" compilation, while "The Thing" is from Silva's 2001 "Essential John Carpenter".

A Fistful of Dynamite - Duck You Sucker is from 2002's Way Out West: Essential Western Film Music Collection Volume Two.

The remaing tracks were newly recorded in 2004 for this release:
Days of Heaven, Exorcist II, Guns for San Sebastian, Moses the Lawgiver, My Name is Nobody, The Five Man Army, The Red Tent, The Men From Shiloh and The Sicilian Clan.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars "his domain of film scoring is legendary ~ Ennio Morricone".......2004-10-07

Silva America once again has outdone themselves with "Once Upon A Time:The Essential Ennio Morricone Film Music Collection", a double disc collection worth their weight in GOLD! ~ Morricone creates visual moods for each film he scores...action, adventure, mystery, romance, sentimental and suspense...the list could go on.

Ennio Morricone was born in Rome on October 11, 1928...attended the Santa Cecilia Conservatory...worked in various jazz bands, later a staff arranger and composer...an orchestrator in the '50s...scored films in the early '60s, then the WESTERNS and his name became a household word in the film industry ~ a new kind of western was on the horizon and Morricone was commissioned to score "A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS" [1964] for Sergio Leone featuring Clint Eastwood, spaghetti westerns were born ~ next "FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE" [1965] ~ and a bigger budget film "THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY" [1966], again featuring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and a third Eli Wallach whose performance was magical to watch on the big screen ~ violence and revenge gives Morricone an opportunity to feature electric guitars, flutes and jew's harp blending with a non lyrical chorus mixed with brass, strings, percussion with full orchestration that simply took your breath away...example is "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST" [1968], featuring Henry Fonda, Claudia Cardinale, Jason Robards and our hero Charles Bronson the mysterious harmonica player, director Sergio Leone's tribute to the American Western, pulled out all the stops ~ the Western was just a small part of Maestro Morricone's career, in the next paragraph take a gander of just what our icon of film music accomplished.

Our composer didn't stop there as "ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA" [1984], featuring Robert De Niro, James Woods and Elizabeth McGovern, another Sergio Leone film..."THE MISSION" [1986], featuring Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons and Aldan Quinn, is probably one of Morricone's crowning scores receiving an Academy Award nomination, very haunting and classical genre in substance..."THE UNTOUCHABLES" [1987], featuring Kevin Costner, Sean Connery and Robert De Niro during the Al Capone '30s crime organization, Morricone conjures a powerful and dynamic arrangement of his unmistakable theme..."CINEMA PARADISO" [1988], featuring Phillippe Noiret, Antonella Attili and Pupella Maggio from director Giuseppe Tomatore as he recalls his early childhood, the score immediately captures your heart, so tender and compelling as Morricone can only deliver.

City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra featuring conductors Kenneth Alwyn, Paul Bateman, James Fitzpatrick, Nic Raine, Derek Wadsworth ~ Crouch End Festival Chorus featuring Choir Master David Temple ~ vocals performed by Charlotte Kinder, Marie Kopecka and Jill Washington ~ guitar, percussion and keyboards performed by Gareth Williams ~ all in all did a magnicent job in bringing the music of a composer who wrote for over 250 films, receiving recognition from the industry and fans which was long over-due ~ his work is in constant demand, scoring as many as over a half dozen films as year.

This collection contains an overlay of each cue in Morricone's distinctive style of legendary scoring ~ the man who made this possible, a tremendous asset to every project he undertakes is James Fitzpatrick [producer of the album] ~ symphonic suites with full orchestra fullfilling the "film-score-buffs" cravings for more of the same, just the way we like 'em!

5 out of 5 stars Where did you get that cd???.......2007-05-07

I operate a transport service and everytime I have a customer in my truck with me and this cd is playing while we are driving down the road, the customer will ultimately ask me (every single time), "Where did you get that cd?". People who have heard this cd love it!

5 out of 5 stars Its worth a Few Dollars More.......2007-03-11

For years, all I had was the U.S. release of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. I picked this up as it was a 'suggestion' after I bought a Japanese release of TGTBTU. And I am glad I did! The sound quality is high, and this contains tracks that I heard in the movie but am not that familiar with. If you like either Morricone or are a fan of this trilogy, you won't be dissappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Drive Peak Hour Listening to "For a few Dollars More"!.......2007-01-24

For fans of Ennio Morricone, Clint Eastwood, Sergio Leone, relive the magic of 'For a Few Dollars More' through this terrorisingly fantastic soundtrack music of moods.. You'll know what I mean! Includes music from "Fistfull of Dollars."

5 out of 5 stars A classic.......2007-01-09

They don't make soundtracks like this anymore. The entire CD is amazing! My boyfriend and I like to listen to it on his awesome stereo in the weight room at home along with other Clint Eastwood sountracks. Another must have is "Two Mules for Sister Sara", that CD is hard to find but worth the search and the money.

5 out of 5 stars Actually 2 soundtracks.......2006-07-22

From the titles of the tracks on thsi CD, I can tell that this is actually tracks from both "A Few Dollors More" and "A Fistfull of Dollars" soundtrack albums with tracks from the second film (FAFDM) first. I don't think the soundtrack album from the second film was ever released in the US (I knew someone in the early 70's who got one is Asia), but is available on a compilation album as well as several versions of this album.

Album Description

"SOME ALBUMS WARN LISTENERS "do not operate heavy machinery while listening to this music." I'd take the "warning" beyond that. Do not sit upright nor stand because this music will dissolve you. "Indescribable" only starts to describe it .... It folds over itself, exudes, and disappears. But none of that put together adds up to the sublime mystery of what makes me go wherever it is that is beyond language, beyond memory, beyond explanation. Perhaps she's found the way to make time reverse. She has given us a remarkable gift: the carpet of sound to the "all-or-nothing." -Carol Wright, music writer for New Age Voice, BN.com

"THE OPENING MINUTES OF THIS ALBUM HERALD A QUALITY THE LIKES OF WHICH YOU WILL RARELY HEAR ON A SYNTH ALBUM. The first piece stops you in your tracks with its sheer, almost overwhelming beauty… for this is the sound of heaven - like never before. It really is almost overwhelming, one of the most beautiful musical experiences I think I've ever heard in this genre... There is a lot of music out there to be lived, but few that truly touch the soul - this is one of the few." - CD Services

"ALTERNATE AWARENESS - This deep space music is intended for meditation and introspection. The soundscapes just reach out and grab listeners. It becomes an alternate awareness that allows listeners to enter a trance-like state of being. Within that state, deep listeners see more clearly. The journey leads to increased spiritual and emotional well-being. Essential for new age and space music fans." ~ All Music Guide

"EXPANSIVE, tender, and passionately spiritual, Demby's music is designed for stress relief, contemplation, and serenity. Given Demby's multidimensional talents, it's no wonder her music is listened to all around the world." - New Age Retailer

1 out of 5 stars Someone should have caught this..........2007-01-30

Anyone who knew Latin or bothered to check would know that the second word of the title has to be "sanctorum," NOT "sanctuorum"!!

5 out of 5 stars Constance Demby is back........2004-06-26

It is wonderful to have Ms. Demby move away from the atonal and morbid sounds of Attunement and Spirit Trance to the uplifting sounds she gave us in Novus Magnificat and Set Free. This is definitely one of her best works.

5 out of 5 stars Constance Demby: Sanctum Sanctuorum.......2003-03-13

Constance Demby continues her trademark melodious symphonic space-music in this calming album. This time, she has infused chants and solo choir to give it a definite Christian flavour.

It becomes a struggle to stay stressed out while listening to this inspiring album and I've tried.

5 out of 5 stars A Musical Stairway To The Stars!.......2002-04-29

With this recording, Constance Demby, the undisputed founder of sacred symphonic space music, has created a musical stairway to the stars. In a word, 'Sanctum Sanctuorum' is remarkable. Not only musically sophisticated and gorgeously produced, the piece as a whole is a deepening of Demby's important work to new heights. At least initially, we could not help but to be reminded of the well-known Requiems by Faure and Durufle. But 'Sanctum' sets the standard for sacred symphonic space music for the new millennium reaching realms not possible prior to this work. Finally, electronic music technology has caught up with Demby's compositional genius to produce a benchmark that transcends the genre.

Album Description

First Dance is the debut album of consummate acoustic guitarist, composer- Noel Lorica. Jazz Lovers will groove to the fresh compositions of Noel Lorica. He has mastered the style of Wayward Jazz. Wayward Jazz uses the acoustic guitar to wind its way through classic forms of jazz, from the provocative rhythms of Latin jazz while adding the precision of its Asian counterpart to the heartfelt melodies of Smooth Jazz. If you like Peter White or Marc Antoine it's a good bet you'll like Noel Lorica.

This collection of 11 instrumental works are truly songs without words. The guitar adds a voice filled with texture and emotion. Beginning with his award winning song " Back in Five", which introduces us to Noel Lorica's vibrant, harmonious compositions and superb musicianship. As the album continues, it picks up tempo with body swaying precision in "Samba in A." Then it takes on the familiar "My Favorite Things" with a most astonishing acoustic jazz interpretation. The journey further transports you to the cool Brazilian shores with the sultry melody of "El Viento". Only to be brought back to pure innocence with the solo guitar of title song "First Dance".

At this point, most albums lose passion but "First Dance" only begins to further captivate with skill and soul. Each song in this album has unique character and is worthy of its own accolade. Some diversifying with piano melodies and guitar highlights as in "Forgiveness" & " Scent of Cinnamon". Or "Sarong Bangi" which brings in the swing that standard lovers applaud. While Latin jazz fans will clamor for the strong percussions of "Midnight Dreams" & "Last Dance" Wayward style. Finally ending with the smooth flowing beat of "Warm Winds".

This has got to be one of the best new jazz albums of the year and Noel Lorica's remarkable introduction into the heart of the jazz community. You'll sure to enjoy this little Wayward excursion.

loved "el viento"very relaxing and sensous...back to 5 was very uplifting...all in all great job!

5 out of 5 stars A Hidden Gem!.......2005-11-02

Lorica is a native of Manila, The Philippines and currently resides in South Florida. He's a Classical trained guitarist whose style resembles well established guitarists such as Peter White, Marc Antoine and Earl Klugh. His debut album has much promise. The recording has a variety of jazz rhythms which ventures from Asian to Flamenco to Brazil. His production is high quality and his original compositions are lovely. I personally enjoyed "Samba in 5" as well as "Midnight Dreams". He also holds his own on American standards such as Rogers & Hammerstein's "My Favorite Things". I see very good things for Lorica happening with this CD release. This is a hidden gem. It's a musical journey you'll enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars An acoustic delight.......2005-07-28

great album...superior guitar playing in the same category as marc antoine, peter white, ken navarro, earl klugh.....seeing Mr.Lorica perform live is very entertaining and impressive...his passion for his instrument is very evident on live performances and is captured well into this cd

5 out of 5 stars wonderful acoustic guitar cd.......2005-07-28

His style is a cross between Marc Antoine and Peter White with a slight more edge to it....I was very impressed with "Back to 5,Midnight dreams, and Last Dance" but the rest of the album is definitely a pure delight to your musical senses. For all those Antoine and White Fans this is an album worth your time...

5 out of 5 stars Exceptional Debut Album.......2005-06-19

After seeing Noel perform live in Orlando and South Florida, I was excited to see his first CD hit the market. I was not disappointed!

The CD is a blend of mostly original samba/latin and smooth jazz . The samba and latin oriented songs were the highlights of the CD. If you like Bossa Nova (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bossa_nova), this CD most definitely has tracks that you will love.

While I liked the CD as a whole, here are the tracks that are my favorites:
Track 1 -- Back in 5
Track 2 -- Samba in A
Track 4 -- El Viento
Track 5 -- First Dance
Track 6 -- Midnight Dreams
Track 8 -- Sarong Bangi
Track 9 -- Last Dance
Track 11 -- Warm Winds

If you are looking to discover a new instrumentalist/song writer I recommend you try this CD.

Celebrating 10 years together, Phillips, Craig, and Dean join the rapidly increasing numbers of contemporary Christian artists who are releasing praise-and-worship collections. While there are a couple of self-penned tunes here--including Dan Dean's humble and reverent "Pour My Love on You"--the trio pulls material mostly from today's top praise-and-worship writers like Matt Redman and Paul Baloche. The group's classic three-part harmonies soar on the choruses of "Come, Now Is the Time to Worship" and Baloche's "Open the Eyes of My Heart." You'll also enjoy the pulsating rhythms of "Let Everything That Has Breath," punctuated by a nifty horn section. Otherwise, listeners will find the trio offering standard and steady readings of worshipful devotions done in the quality style so typical of Phillips, Craig, and Dean. --Michael Lyttle

5 out of 5 stars Exceptional music.......2007-02-19

This is one of the best christian CD's I have ever owned. I highly recommend this CD to everyone.

5 out of 5 stars If this doesn't light your fire your wood's wet........2006-01-07

I'm a typical guy with typical guy emotions. I usually listen more to the production and arrangement of a song than I do the words. There are 2 songs that force me to pay attention to the words and bring me to my knees, sobbing and humbling God almost every time I hear them...'Your Grace Still Amazes Me' is one of them.

This PC&D CD is an oustanding project overall, miles above much of what's out there - but if you want to take a few minutes to soak in God's grace after dealing with a tough day or tough situation, get this CD and listen to the track. If you listen with your heart, the praise will be inevitable.

5 out of 5 stars Praiseworthy.......2005-04-09

I just love these guys! This CD is such a blessing on my drive to work in the morning. Yes, I do lift a hand in priase (keep the other on the wheel!) as the music lifts me to give glory to the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings! I recommend it highly.

This is such an awesome album! Every single song touched my heart in some way. "Pour My Love on You" and "Your Grace Still Amazes Me" are two of the best worship songs I've ever heard. These songs are full of emotion and just so beautiful. I love this CD.
