GARBAGE!.......2006-08-08
This album got one star because there is no option for 0! Trina has not been able to come close to her first album yet! What happened?!?! Whos writing her lyrics?, I'd be embarrassed to admit that I actually wrote this CD if I were Trina. When will she grow up? The cd is pure trash and I want my money back!

-A While Ago Review- Diamond Princess by Trina.......2005-10-11
Trina's second album Diamond Princess is a step forward from her debut album Da Baddest B*tch. Now while lyrically she may have not grown this time around, still one can't deny that her flow has gotten better. Diamond Princess has ups, downs, and at times streaks of greatness. And while this hasn't shown tremendous growth, it shows potential that she will one day be a hip hop icon in her own right.
However, things didn't start out on such a great note. While the talk show concept for "Hustling" is great in theory, it really didn't work out that well. However, things picked up with "Told Y'all" ft. Rick Ross. But things went down again when "Rewind That Back" ft. Missy Elliot followed. However, Trina does stay strong with songs such as "B R Right" ft. Ludacris, "Nasty B*tch" ft. Money Mark, and the lead single "No Panties" ft. r&b diva Tweet. The shining moments of the album is tied ... between Trina at her best and a cameo at their best. Trina at her best would be the great "You & Me", featuring a brilliant sample throughout that really shows what Trina is capable of. However, in "How We Do" Fabulous outshines Trina herself and just about makes the song his. These two moments make the whole album worth the listen in it's self.
Sadly though, things can also go from great to mediocre to just plain bad. The mediocre would be songs such as "Ladies 1st" ft. Eve and "Do You Want Me" ft. Bathgate. The bad would be the childish "Kandi" ft. Lil' Briana (Trina's version of Lil' Shanice). Strangely though, I feel I should also find "Get This Money" bad, which is Trina's spoof on "The Conga" dance. But I don't, instead I find myself ignoring the childishness of it all and just bobbing my head side to side with the good beat. But still, this album is mediocre. While Trina's flow has gotten better, she is very limited in subject matter. Also, she needs to learn how to lyrically grab your attention and keep it for a full album, instead of relying on fellow hip hop cameos to do that job for her. However, Diamond Princess is still a treat, giving her the rightful title of the Queen of Miami.
Dasheikz2Centz: I Give Trina's A$$ 10 Stars........2005-10-06
The only reason I bought this album is because Trina looked so good on the cover I HAD to see what she looked like on the inside of the jacket. I think the album is just ok. Go pick up Lil' Kims new album " Naked Truth ".
NOT A REAL FEMALE RAPPER.......2005-09-29
TRINA IS A UNTALENTED FEMALE RAPPER. ALL SHE TALKS ABOUT IS MONEY, CLOTHES, CARS, SEX, AND JEWELRY. HER MUSIC IS NOT INDEPTH WITH HER LIFE. FEMALE ARTISTS THAT I CONSIDER TO BE VERY TALENTED LYRICALLY ARE EVE, FOXY BROWN, AND LIL KIM. EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER, THEY ARE STILL GREAT FEMALE RAPPERS. SHE NEEDS TO STEP BACK AND WATCH HOW THEY DO THINGS. THIS ALBUM IS TERRIBLE. THE FIRST ALBUM WAS MORE TERRIBLE THAN THIS ONE. ON HER FIRST ALBUM ALL SHE TALKS ABOUT IS SEX AND BLOWING SOMEBODY OFF. SHE IS SO NASTY. I KNOW LIL KIM AND FOXY BROWN ARE NASTY, BUT ATLEAST THEY HAVE SONGS THAT HAVE STRONG LYRICS ABOUT EVERYDAY LIFE. WE CAN'T CONNECT WITH TRINA BECAUSE SHE TALKS ABOUT THE GLAMOROUS LIFE, NOT ABOUT HERSELF INDEPTH.

Early Vocal Music at its Best.......2007-05-14
Trio Mediaeval can easily claim the title of the best early music female group worldwide.
This is simply great and moving music and while there is a prevailing sense of somber piety throughout, there is enough variety in each selection to keep the listener thoroughly engaged. Trio Mediaeval's deeply expressive singing and virtuoso technique are up to the highest standards and you have to consider that some of the pieces make rather pressing demands on the Scandinavian singers.
ECM proved once more that, even in early music works (if not particuraly in this genre), provides unprecedented quality of performance in every sense.
Superb Singing.......2007-05-13
Trio Mediaeval makes glorious, soul-stirring music and this recording majestically brings their unique sound home: you'll feel their voices reaching inside you.
Seeds Sown in Medieval Times Flower with a Contemporary Work.......2005-09-29
The Trio Mediaeval continues its fine reputation and tradition as an exemplary group capable of capturing the essence of the Gregorian chant while encouraging contemporary composers to emulate this classic form of music with new compositions. For this their third recoding the Trio continues to survey early music for a cappela voices and this time adds the tenor voice of John Potter as the ethereal leader in 'O Maria, stella maris, conductus'. The result is incandescent music making.
In addition to the medieval works for which they are well known, this album present the premiere recording of 'Missa Lumen de Lumine' by contemporary Korean composer Sunji Hong. While the twenty-five minute Mass incorporates the fundamental structure of the original chants, Hong suffuses the writing with subtle contemporary moods and passages that are astonishingly appropriate. The work is divided into Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei. The performance is impeccable contributing to the fact that Hong has amazing gifts as a composer. Highly Recommended. Grady Harp

Da Saddest B****.......2007-02-07
I remember when I first heard heard Trina I couldnt help but wonder what was people's fascination with her? So what she makes raunchy records, the girl couldnt rap her way out of a flavored condom plus she sounds like a hood version of Edith from All In The Family. From where I from Trina is the most overrated female ever. This album is concrete proof of that statement. The first single The Baddest B**** is so cheesy it makes you wonder how this song became a hit. Pull Over , Off The Chain Wit it, Off Glass and I Dont Need You are extra cheesy to the point you might get constipated from the first listen. Other disposables: The Big Lick(Blah), Aint S***(a female version Of Dr. Dre's B***es Aint S***. How original), I'll Always(super stale plus she should be sued for screwing up Ronald Isley's Voyage To Atlantis), Watch Yo Back and the rest of this album.
Bottom Line: Trina's Da Baddest B**** is the worst female rap album next to the Notorious K.I.M. and Thug Misses. The beats suck, her lyrics sound like they were conceived in the mind of a tweenager and her voice is as painful as scratching a chalkboard with your fingernails. Lyrics like /Sisqo made that song/ when he seen me in a thong th th th thong show you that she puts the corn in corny! Da Baddest B**** more like Da Saddest B****!

I feel like throwin' up.......2005-08-21
A full review doesn't make too much sense considering the album cover and title. I never heard the whole album since I bought this in 2000, when I was still naive to the dirty south. I was a fan of scarface and outkast, I love miami so I gave this a try. I hated it then and I hate it now. I never got past the first 6 pieces of ear poison(notice I didn't say songs). Cause this isnt music. I know I said it before, but why would any woman want to consider herself a bitch? How could any woman enjoy listening to this self-degradation? I still don't know the reasons but considering her albums constantly sell there's a lot of women that feel the same. The same way how you women wonder is there any good men out here, is the same how men like me wonder is there any good women. And judgeing by your favorite rappers and role models, I can safely say there is'nt too many. Buy this album only if your new to this music genre, the front cover looks funny, or your mind is in the gutter. Cause in my opinion, only a lowlife can enjoy this.

A Decent Start.......2007-07-23
Like many I first came across Ms Broussard on the Love Jones: The Music (1997 Film) singing the Minnie Ripperton' Inside My Love'. It is only recently that I became aware that she had an CD out, which is now three years old. The other matter behind me getting this was that Steve 'The Scotsman' Harvey had a hand in production, and I have grown to like his work. OK, onto the CD itself. The problem that I have with this CD is that there isn't much that sets it apart from the rest of the competition, which is a shame as Ms Broussard can really sing (unlike many of her comtempories) I wish, that instead of playing safe, I wish she have taken a few risks with the subject matter (which in the main is love) and also had a more consistent approach to the production, which in my opinion suffers due to too many different people on board. Even with Van Hunt, and Rahaan Paterson on board, things are a bit samey. I would say that 'These are the days' and 'Joy' are my favorite cuts. A good start and I look to see how she builds upon it on her sophomore joint.
Really nice CD. Good singer and songwriter........2007-03-21
I bought this CD and I really enjoyed the songs. She has such a nice voice that makes it enjoyable to listen to all day. I hope Trina will keep bringing us more of her singing and song writing talents. Her album is very refreshing from what I have heard in a long time. She is in a league of her own. Her and Rahsaan make a great team.
Not bad!.......2007-03-14
I had only heard of Trina Broussard once before. She is good, I think that her talent was not pulled out by the music though. It's good stuff, but basic. I am a sucker for minor or intricate chords or even just a basic melody with a "tight" bridge or vamp. However, her voice is good and if I were to re-do the CD, I would keep some of the tracks!
Same Girl.......2007-02-03
"Inside My Love" by Trina Broussard is featured on the "Love Jones" soundtrack. This is where I got my first dose of the extraordinary Ms. Trina Broussard. Her voice enthralled me with every word she sang on "Inside My Love." I just had to hear more; I didn't care how. So I searched Amazon.com to see if she had an album, and I found a masterpiece entitled "Same Girl." Her voice is literally music to my ears. I have never heard an alto this sexy and pure before. I listen to her each and every day because the sound of her voice soothes me. Her lyrics are often thought provoking and there are many live instruments on this album, something that is always pleasing to me. Trina is not an average singer because she knows exactly how to use her voice. She never, ever over sings; she gives you just the right note every time. Trina hasn't released much music, but the music she has released has moved me in such a way that she has become one of my top 5 favorite artists of all time.
"Same Girl" is a work of art. The album is very smooth, jazzy and laid back. Most of the songs are reprise-worthy. "Still the Same Girl" captured me with its lyrics. I love the lyrical content of this song although I didn't totally understand the underlying meaning of it. I actually had the opportunity to ask Trina herself what the song meant and she exclaimed that it's about getting in contact with someone you used to date, and him wanting to be romantically involved with you again, but because you've grown as a person, you don't want to deal with the same drama. "No Way Out" is another standout track. I enjoy the fashion Trina uses her voice in this song. Her vocal range is also superbly exhibited on this track. On "Will Things Ever Be the Same?", her vocal range is also illustrated very well. The chorus also stands out in this song. "Dreaming of One" is just sensational. Finding a good man is the lyrical content of this track. Most people will appreciate Trina's nostalgia on "These Are the Days". The little boy's voice in the background is so cute! It also helps Trina convey her point: not forgetting about your adolescence.
I really can't say enough about Trina, and how impressed I am at her capability. I highly recommend this album to all because it is very easy to enjoy. Phenomenal effort by TRINA BROUSSARD.

Beautiful Music.......2006-08-01
I must admit this cd is very good and her voice is beautiful. I wish she would have gotten more airplay as this is real music. I've had this cd for awhile and have listened to it recently - the entire cd and how she is able to reach many with the power of her voice and it hits so close to home.
She is a delight to your ears and there is music for every part of the relationship - joy, pain, transitioning (moving on and letting go), pure love.
Great CD! Can't wait to hear more music from her soon.

Her friends say I'm a tummy sucker don't go below the navel gotta love lil wayne!.......2006-10-18
Trina skills are really trash I tried to give her a chance but she don't have nothing interesting to talk about. The only reason I gave her two star's is because lil wayne is on the best track or shall I say the only track that can stand by itself and I believe that's only because of weezy baby!Trina go back to strippin!
Gosh.2 .......2006-10-11
Im going to be honest ,there are a couple of songs I like ,and the cd in general ,if u dont pay attention to the lyrics (which is kinda hard not to )is ALMOST ok .She doesnt have nothing "enlightening" to say and talks about her intimate parts waaay too much .Not cute and terribly tiring .he only reason she is in the business is in no way and shape related to her music/rapping skills.
Please Trina come out with something a little deeper and intelligent next time .
Miss Trina's Finest.......2006-08-16
Trina a.k.a. Da Baddest [...] and the Diamond Princess comes with her third album and is stronger than most rap out there. First of all, in my opinion Trina is he second best female rapper out there (next to Lil' Kim). Although her worst selling album, this album is one of her best because she swtiches it up. She doesn't only talk about sex (although she does do it). Here is a track by track breakdown of The Glamorest Life.
1. Sum Mo [featuring Dre]: A great opening track for the album in which Trina adresses rumors that she is broke. The chorus is pretty good by Dre and my favorite part is the third verse "I do you worse than they did that dumb b***h on Dre Day." My third favorite track on the album.
2. Don't Trip [featuring Lil' Wayne]: The lead single off the album featuring her boo, Lil' Wayne. I loved the song and the video. The song is really addictive.
3. Shake [featuring Lil' Scrappy]: This song is pretty good and is tolerable. Lil' Scrappy is kind of annoying but Trina brings the song back up.
4. Here We Go [featuring Kelly Rowland]: The second single off the album and Trina's best charting single ever. At first, I didn't really like this song but it grew on me.
5. Sexy Gurl [featuring Snoop Dogg]: This song is pretty good and the first verse is the best part.
6. Da Club [featuring Mannie Fresh]: The almost third single off the album and is pretty good. Mannie Fresh does sing on this and maybe he should have stuck to rapping.
7. It's Your B-Day [featuring Jazze Pha]: The second best song on the album. The girl singing sounds nice and Trina does great on her two verses. I only wish that she would did another one instead of having Jazze and the girl doing two long parts.
8. I Gotta [featuring Rick Ross]: A ping-pong type song between Trina and fellow Miami rapper, Rick Ross. I love this song and is my fourth favroite song on the album.
9. Throw It Back [featuring Deuce Poppi]: Another great track by the Dimaond Princess. Deuce Poppi sounds okay but could be better. I love the ending music.
10. 50/50 Love [featuring Trey Songz]: One of the two songs that I didn't like. It just didn't fit in with the rest of the album.
11. So Fresh [featuring Plies]: This is another good song.I love Trina on her verse and Plies is pretty good as well.
12. Reach Out: The only track on the album and the best one on the album. Trina shows her sexy side along with some girl saying "Reach out, touch me." This should be a single.
13. Lil' Mama [featuring Trey Songz]: The other song that should not have been on the album. Trina + Trey Songz: not a good move.
Trina's third album is definitely her strongest and one of female rap's. If you don't have this song, you should definitely get it.

This is an outrage..i just cant believe Trina's album got canned.
I heard promo copy of the album and it was outstanding. That so-so def midget Jermaine Dupri must have been knocked unconscious by all the 'bling-blings' for putting this fantastic effort into the bin. *sigh*
i wish that there were more stars to give.......2001-11-15
trina broussard's (sadly) unreleased cd is absolutely fantastic. the single is, of course, excellent and is actually what got me interested in finding her album. i have had the "love jones" soundtrack for quite some time now, and every time i listened to it, i would always wonder what ever happened to her. i though that perhaps she had been grossly overlooked the way artists like adriana evans have been. it wasn't until recently that i decided to actually look for the cd that i discovered that the label never released the album. i had to hear this cd so badly that i ordered it from the netherlands! i am so glad that i did, too. truly, this woman's cd has got to be one of the best that i have EVER heard (and i have heard and own A LOT of cds). the production is extremely tight, her lyrics are incredible, and her voice seems to fit every chord and every verse to a T. she is definitely an artist that deserved to be released to the public. i truly hope that her label (if it's still her label) will change its mind and decide to release "inside my love" as an album or that some other label will pick her up. i pray that we get to hear more of her in the near future. we need more REAL music like this.

Just what I was looking for..........2005-06-10
First off, I just want to say that I LOVE the String Quartet Tribute series... I recently discovered these CDs while planning my wedding and am so glad that I did. It's so nice to be able to incorporate modern music into the ceremony without having to worry about the "appropriateness" of the vocals. In addition to the tribute to Jessica Simpson, I also have the String Quartet Tribute to Coldplay. I'm completely satisfied with them both. Granted, I'm by no means a musician, but I do have the ability to appreciate great music. And I feel that these CDs are definitely worth looking into. :)
The songs on this particular album are great - in my opinon, anyway. I especially want to remark on the CD's version of "Take My Breath Away" - absolutely beautiful. I had been looking for an instrumental version of this piece to walk down the aisle to and found exactly what I was looking for on this CD. :)

Tragic Attempt to Humor = Loud, strident screaming for an hour.......2006-03-02
If you enjoy loud, strident screaming for nearly an hour, you'll enjoy this CD. She doesn't tell one single solitary joke for nearly an hour in which she does not resort to screaming, more a kin to SCREECHING, to gain laughter.
The worst part? The morons in the audience to whom she panders... are laughing (probably canned?). There is no modulation between jokes, varying one that requires a little screeching with a few that don't... No. It is screeching and forced laughter from the very beginning to the end. She is undoubtedly the worst comic I have ever encounted.
Oh, the jokes themselves... a few, very few were amusing, mildly amusing. Most were lame flops. My brand-new CD went into the trash without even getting to the very end. After 45 minutes, I was the one who was ready to scream.

Great music great recording.......2001-10-22
I mixed an AGC show at my college and the cd sounds just as good as she did live.
A Musical, Emotional Thrill Ride!.......2001-06-21
Trina Hamlin is truly the best thing to happen to soul music in ages! As said in previous reviews, seeing Ms. Hamlin in concert is an acoustic thrill ride you'll never forget. And this disc is the next best thing to her live shows. With her combination of perfection in voice, lyrics, guitar, and harmonica (yes, that's her playing in the beginning of the disc), she's a musical force not to be reckoned with!
The real thing.......2000-08-22
Trina is everything I want in a singer/songwriter... soulful, emotional voice, truthful lyrics, interesting arrangements. Charming in person, and recorded.
Emotional Range.......2000-04-26
With a voice that is sure to evoke emotion, Trina Hamlin leads listeners over a roller coaster ride of music. The songs on this album are both strangely exotic and down home favorites! I can't speak well enough about this effort!
A Voice That is Not to be Missed.......2000-01-26
Seeing Ms. Hamlin live in concert is an acoustic experience you will never forget: few singers today have the kind of soulful voice that reaches in and sweeps your heart away, and hers will. If, however, you aren't lucky enough to see her in concert, this CD is a close second. While there are a few truly pulse-stopping songs ("Hollow" being one of them) and moments in every tune where her talent shines, this album will hopefully be known one day as a sample of her "early work." Her lyrics can be sophomoric, but her songwriting skills are already showing improvement in more recent songs. That said, if you like acoustic guitar music, original harmonica riffs, and a profoundly gorgeous voice, this is a worthwhile investment.
