About the Artist
Reality - You've probably never heard of them! They existed from 1981 - 1985. Prolific on the East Anglian punk scene they released two very limited and collectable singles, before disappearing into drunken oblivion.

So why release an album by them? Simple, because they embodied the spirit of punk rock, and we at Overground believe that attitude and spirit is as important as musical ability!

Reality formed in the summer of 1981. Aged around 13/14, their first gig attracted the attentions of the Norfolk Constabulary and ended in scenes of absolute chaos with the gig shut down. More gigs followed supporting the likes of Chelsea and Flux Of Pink Indians and in November 1982 the band's debut single ‘Blind To The Truth' was released on Subversive and quickly sold-out it's pressing of 1,000.

1983 saw the band touring with the UK Subs, The Destructors and playing with Conflict, Toy Dolls and the Subhumans. In December ‘a more mature' Reality recorded the tracks for Who Killed The Golden Goose? which was released on Fight Back/Jungle in July 1984. More gigs/tours followed with the likes of Peter & The Test Tube Babies, The Insane and The Defects. In the Summer of 1984 the band cut demos which appeared on the ‘We Don't Want Your Fucking Law' (Fight Back) and a ‘Kick Up The Arse' (Rot) compilations. These appear on the CD having been remastered by Sex Pistols producer Dave Goodman.

‘Young Drunk Punks' tells the story of four adolescent Norfolk lads forming a band and living through extraordinary experiences as they took to the road. For instance: being pulled over by the Police and busted for drugs; one member having a breakdown on stage; crashing a motorbike into the local Conservative club, with three members sitting on it; having a local journalist leave the band's van after only 25 minutes into the journey and playing a gig in their underpants having been foolishly offered the beer cellar as a dressing room.

‘Young Drunk Punks' is a collection of 17 tracks, comprising both singles, compilation appearances, demos and live tracks. The booklet contains a detailed history, the recollections of each member and previously unseen photos.
