Believe it or not I have ALL of these singers and groups albums and I was surprised this album has all these albums I have and it's much easier for me to use this album so I dont haveto change all these regular albums of theirs over and over again so this album has it all in 1 album and it's much easier for me to play different singers and groups into 1 album!!

This collection brings back so many memories of my childhood on the west side of Chicago. All of these songs are amazing dance classics that to me are not just long-lasting but are timeless! "Good Vibrations" is a smoking dance tune for the ages and "Summertime" is true to it's title! If you want to go back in time to a great era in dance music, look no further than this! You won't be dissapointed!

PARTY CD.......2003-07-16

Having originally purchased this on cassette (and VHS), it was inevitable that I buy it on CD (and DVD) when I upgraded. This is the perfect party CD (along with Volume 1) to pop into the player and crank up. It's a treat to listen to these old jams and you can always skip over the embarrassing stuff (CMB). Turn it up.

Oh, Right On!.......2002-05-02

Just turned 30! This cd takes me back to my "just have fun" days. Good pick me up for anyone who finds themself in a rut! Good beat, easy to dance to...(and if you know where that comes from... rock on!)

The Birth of Louie!!!.......2003-09-30

This cd put Louie on the map.I remember getting this cd from my ex girlfriend as a surprise. She heard KTU (in NYC) advertise it and figured I would like it. I didn't know of Louie until I heard this cd and when I heard it I didn't stop playing it until 5 am that night. My ex got so mad she left my house because I wouldn't turn this cd off. The beats are incredible. I love the songs "Just Come Back to Me", "Give me Tonight" (this remix is off the hook!!!), and "Sanctuary". The two versions of "Relentless" add a nice touch to this cd as I am a big fan of techno with a good beat but no words. This is Louie's best album when it comes to electronic beats incorporated with little words. Definitely purchase this album to throw in to change the pace of a party and as an outlet from today's music.

OK CD........2003-06-25

I would say I am satisfied. The CD didn't blow me away but it wasn't terrible either. I bought it solely for the second song "You Don't Even Know Me". I absolutely love that song. The other songs are OK, nothing to write home about. So it gets an average of three stars.

When The Light Go Down In This CIty..........2000-10-12

...no one even notices. Get real, this is New York we're talking about: the place that practically invented "nightlife". Ever since Thomas Edison invented electric lights (at his lab in northern New Jersey), New Yorkers seemed bound and determined to make sure that no matter where the sun is, it always looks bright in the City.

They don't call Manhattan's underground dance clubs "hot spots" for nothing. this CD is the soundtrack to a typical night in NYC's hot dance scene, and it really sizzles. Every tune is a hot dance hit (familiar to Circuit-partiers and 'night-club' people, but probably new to most listeners).

Even though the the CD contains repeats from Jonah [it isn't irritating, but it did cost the CD a star in this review], it has such a great selection of dance club tunes that you still want to spin it again.

While some of the songs may be a little too fast or wild, and the energy level might exceed what the clubs in most cities are used to, remember: this one WAS mixed by a New Yorker in his native habitat.

This CD is a good cd and all the songs on it are great, but a few of the songs, in my opinion, is over mixed. Throughout the CD it repeats the shhhh be quiet from Jonah (which is a great song) but it is a great CD and is the first CD i have bought in a while. Better than the first--but still a few duds.......2005-07-22

Track 1-4 just slams you over the head with hardhouse vocal gems. Just when things should be climbing to even higher heights, the mix crashlands with 3 boring instrumentals!!! But Elle Patrice saves the day with the incredible track Rising. But that NRG is ruined too soon by a boring drum track. And then we get back to powerful vocal starting Saving My Soul...pretty poor programming if you ask me. Things finish off with 2 more vocal anthems. So overall, this is a pumpin mix, with just a small number of useless tracks that slow things down a bit. And once again, there could have been longer cuts. Track times:

Greatest club hits of 1997.......2005-10-11

This disc assembles some of the hottest songs from the club scene back in 97. It's loaded with deep and hardhouse hits, as well as loads of female diva vocal, not to mention the sinister instrumental hit "Nightmare" by Brain Bug, and the blip filled electronic hit "Why Don't you Dance With me" by Future Breeze. And most important to note, although it doesn't say it in the liner notes, this disc includes a near 6 minute cut of the JUNIOR VASQUEZ mix of One World by Groove Box featuring Evelyn Thomas! This mix definitely brings back memories of the big club scene in the 90s. Track times:

This is a good cd over all if you like rave music, and the weirdest but most unique song is Nightmare by Brainbug. I am a dancer, and my studio is dancing to it I love it so much. The rest of the cd is good except for the dolly parton one trust me, skip that one.

not nearly as much of a party as volume one.......2005-06-14

Things begin really weak with a clunky mix of Wership-9 minutes of it! Vicious is semi-vocal, progressive house with an old school techno sound riff, and it picks things up a bit, but gets boring really fast. The Kevin Aviance track isn't one of my favorites by him, and conveniently, it doesn't even run 3 minutes. The Club 69 mix of Charlotte finally gets to party started for a cool 8 minutes. Le Desma is a pumpin tribal track with a hard riff. Blackout is a boring track with some vocal, Unspeakable Joy is a favorite Razor n Guido mix. Feel da drugs is a lame instrumental with a boring slow breakdown in the middle. Slut is an okay tribal, but eight minutes of the Plasmic Honey mix of Debbie Harry is truly the winner on this CD. You got my Love is heavy beats, hard riff, and fierce diva vocals. Atlantis finishes things off with an old skool feeling techno track. Overall, this is a mixed bag of highs and lows, not consistent enough for repeated listings, but worth it for long versions of some standout tracks. Track times are:

Heavy but GOOD!.......2000-07-22

John Blair's is the top promoter of New York City's Mega Clubs. This second volume of club favorites is a little heavier than the other two CD's so far released as John Blair Party. This is the least favorite of the three CD's for me, but its still great. DJ James Andersen ignites the night away with these cuts. You have to say this Collection is unique and different than the other two, there's more drums, percussion, some light trance, and also house/tribal. I think "Unspeakable Joy" has been on almost every dance collection. Not that theres anything wrong with that, but lets move on. I still give it a high recommendation, though. It will get you dancing, that's for sure.

Pretty Good Sounds.......1999-11-16

DJ James Andersen redeems himself a bit after the live disappointment at the 1999 Hot'Lanta Party. This cd has some new and old sounds with a few surprises.

inferior to the first volume.......1999-10-17

Don't buy this one until you find somewhere that you can sample the tracks, such as perfectbeat. I personally like the tracks Skin, Unspeakable Joy, and Command & Obey, but many of the others seem to be the kind of repetitive and non-melodic sounds that I hear at clubs I avoid. (And I already have the tracks I like on other CDs.) Your mileage may vary; that sound may be just what you're looking for. I thought the first volume was a lot better, though.
