Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

I love this cd because it's really different especially for the times in which it was orginally recorded. I borrowed this from a friend and fell in love with it and it is one of my all time favorite cds. I would recommend this to everyone if u are tired of the music out now that doesn't really talk about anything, take time and listen to this cd. you will not be disappointed.

I am listening to this album right now, and in the context of 500 R&B/soul albums that I own, this is one of the best. First of all the vast majority of the songs are good; often an album will only have a few songs you would include in a playlist. Secondly, the songs are well produced, original, and distinguished by a bassy, rhythmic, soulful, passionate style - real swingy, body moving R&B that demands proper bass reproduction from hi-fi systems. This is my favourite type of black music which combines the following elements: slow tempo, funky, rhymic, catchy beats and bass, well produced musical arrangements, souful harmonies, predominantly found in music from 1993 - 1997. I think H-Town are probably under-rated, and certainly here in the UK they are almost anonymous. This is a pity because all their albums are strong and are thoroughly recommended.

H-TOWN HIT IT OFF WIT THIS CD. I LOVE EVERY SONG ON THIS CD. MY FAVS INCLUDE MARRIED MAN, WAYS TO TREAT A WOMAN, DONT HOLD BACK THE RAIN, SPECIAL KINDA FOOL, JEZEBEL, AND MANY MORE....TOO BAD THIS CD WASNT RECONIZED LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I PUT THIS CD UP THERE WIT THE BEST OUT THERE LIKE R. KELLY. NOT TOO LONG AGO GI AND SHAZAAM CAME TO AMARILLO TX TO DO A CONCERT...EVERY ONE MISSED DINO. MAN HE COULD SING. HIS VOICE WAS SO SOOTHING...HE PUT HIS ALL IN HIS SINGING. THE OTHER MEMBERS ARE GREAT TOO. DINO'S DEATH WAS SO UNTIMELY...IT HURT MY HEART WHEN I FOUND OUT ABOUT HIS DEATH...AND FOR ALL THE HATERS THAT HATED ON HTOWN ESPECIALLY THIS CD...GO TO HELL...TO ME THIS IS THE BEST CD THEY CAME OUT WIT...GOOD LUCK TO THE OTHER MEMEBERS AND MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU AND THE H-TOWN FAMILY...DINO WILL TRUELY BE MISSED...ONE LOVE

It's funny how you can be riding along with some people in the car, throw in this cd, and have people, especially women asking this is great who is this? This is one of those cd's, most people don't really know about H-Town with the exception of "Knockin Da Boots." Ladies Edition was not put up so highly on the charts as one of H-Towns best cd's but in my opinion, this cd is platinum rating. With the exception of Toon Girl. I love this cd. From tracks titled "BEggars Can't Be Choosey", to Special Kinda Fool. The CD is through, and can be seen through the eyes of some as a very uplifting cd, with morals behind almost every song. GREAT CD!!!!!!!1
