compilations often tend to be a mixed bag. They promise lots, but rarely deliver. Rare Grooves, Vol. 2 however met my expectations and more. Even the tracks from the famous artists on the album are ones which I was not expecting. rare stuff indeed. where are the other volumes? I want more!

The CD is released on Ice Cube's Priority Label and of course you will find a few of the Hip Hop Sampler's favorites. But this CD has a few cuts that surprised me, taking me back to the history of the genre and a few jazz-funk classics. The Title Rare Grooves- says it all.
