Editorial Reviews
Product Description
Most collectors would agree that the Five Crowns represent the quintessential New York street corner sound of the early 50s. They released ten records with no hits, but in 1958 (through a series of events that could only happen in the record business) they became the Drifters. This collection of 18 songs comprises the best recordings the group made for the Rainbow and Old Town record labels. Includes extensive liner notes.

4 out of 5 stars Another stop in my quest for all the early R&B vocal groups........2005-04-11

Good cd. I bought this one after hearing 'Good Luck Darling' and being totally blown away! I was suprised to hear another absolute scorcher called 'Ooh wee baby'. Another feel-good nasty R&B song! There are more good songs on this one than bad ones, so I say grab it. By the way, there's also some good vocal harmony in the love ballads on this one.
