upon first listening, i was disappointed because i was use the n'dea davenport heavies. but after a couple of listens, it has become by second favorite--after remixes & rare grooves. it's a much more laid back cd, more for relaxin' at your house as opposed to the dance, high-energy bnh cd's. this cd puts more emphasis on the musicians, and is definitely worth collecting.

All but the most loyal fans of the British acid jazz group will be disappointed in this ten track set. This is largely due to the uninspired vocals found on several cuts.

The CD starts off okay with the duet "Rest of Me," between Jay Ella Ruth and longtime Heavies band member Jan Kincaid. "Put Yourself in My Shoes" follows featuring the bland vocals of Linda Muriel. She also sings lead on the Heavies first UK single, "Got to Give" and the original version of "Dream Come True," which both pale in comparison to N'Dea Davenport's later versions. Fortunately, the album also features three instrumental cuts, which are all good.

In short, ORIGINAL FLAVA is a so-so album. For individuals who aren't familiar with the group, they would be better served by checking out their other albums first. However, if you are already a Heavies fan (in particular, if you dig their instrumental tracks), this CD is definitely worth consideration.

        This compilation was so on point for this time in jungle history. Forget the cheesy cover and just listen if you ever get your ears on a copy. Sick straight up tuff jungle that was very cutting edge and forward thinking at times. Some of the techstep on this comp was the cream of the crop then and now. Ahhhh... memories... P-NOT-H.

              This cd is definitely hot... For anyone that loves freestyle, u definitley have this cd in your collection.. Its a one of a kind and definitely a classic to add to your collection. I strongly reccomend it!

              This is another winner fom DMA and DJ Felony. There is 20 trax on this disc and only 3 of them are fair. The one that disappointed me the most was Lil' Suzy's "I Still Love You"(808 radio edit), which does not seem to even belong on this disc. This has to be the worst remix of this song, and it is not the one that got radio airplay. Caprice's(the supermodel)"There Goes Your Heart" is awesome! She has a great voice. Debbie Deb's "Party Goin'On", One Voice's "All Day, All Nite", Julissa's "Player's Eyez", Cynthia's "If I had the Chance", and Corina's "Summertime, Summertime" are all tight dance tunes. The real standout is Freestyle 2000's "Don't Stop the Rock". It is the updated version of this classic club-cut with the robotic vocals. This CD should definitely be in your collection. A great DJ pick-up. BUY IT!

              DMA: Freestyle Flava Vol. 2 is excellent. This great mix of different varieties of freestyle music is sure to get you moving. I would recommend this to freestyle lovers, or just people that like to dance. Buy it, and you'll be glad you did. DJ Felony knows just how to mix it up. =)

              DMA Freestyle Flava one is the bomb, it has the classic dance beats (that melt your heart!) and it has a lot of new stuff thats really good too. The second tape has quite a few new songs,and some aren't really what I considered freestyle. But its all good, because the beats are still very hot and it is once again mixed really well.

              DMA Freestyle Flava Volume 2 is even better than the first one. What an awesome CD. For all freestyle fans out there, I recommend this. The remixes are awesome as well.
