Album Description

In Shawn Lee's world, Ennio Morricone dances with Esquivel and Gainsbourg as spaghetti western guitars and harmonicas ride fat drum breaks accompanied by vibes, lush strings, and piano. On "Voices And Choices", Lee's signature style moody instrumentals are accompanied by vocals for the first time in four albums. For fans of Air, Thievery Corporation, David Axelrod, Ennio Morricone, Tommy Guerrero, Serge Gainsbourg, Stereolab.

5 out of 5 stars Psychedelic vibes.......2007-06-13

This album is a one-of-a-kind find. Shawn Lee ventures into uncommon ground with his instrumentation and driving beat grooves. The addition of vocals proves a good choice, and "Kiss The Sky" stands out as something you will want to listen to over and over again.

5 out of 5 stars this album is phat.......2006-01-04

this is the best 36 other than mystic stylez. Theres mad good songs on this album. best songs are baby mama, mafia, 2 way freak, slang and serve, dis bitch dat hoe, and RIDIN ON CHROME...that's the tightest 36 song ive ever heard, t-rock tears it up on that song...so buy this album

5 out of 5 stars Just Brilliant........2005-11-11

All I have to say is just get it.
Three 6 at their best, PERIOD.

3 out of 5 stars La Chat, You've Ruined the Album.......2005-09-29

If you can't tell, I hate when woman rap. Not to be sexist, but something about their voice just ruins even the sickest lyrics. So when I bought this album I was pissed. Songs like "2-Way Freak" are great until La Chat steps in. However, there are some good tracks on here. Songs like "Gangsta Niggaz" shine. I don't have much else to say about the album except don't get too excited.

5 out of 5 stars Best Soundtrack Ever.......2005-04-17

This is truly one of the kind sondtrack. It features most of the beats from the movie. Songs from this soundtrack made on the othre soundtracks as well. ("Baby Mama" on Baby Boy and "War With Us" on Oz) Classic beats and classic rhymes. The CD is mostly HCP with only Ludacris appearing as a special guest. Go Buy!!!

5 out of 5 stars Slamming Soundtrack.......2004-11-15

Choices the album is much better than the movie. There isn't any of these songs on the movie at all. This can be classified as a Hypnotize Camp Collaboration album. This is HOT, and a must buy if you like the productions of the super producers. The movie is ok, kinda low budget. They sound like they are reading their lines out of books, instead of acting. It is not bad, it actually a good movie. But it is low budget.

5 out of 5 stars Another great childrens album by Burl.......2001-10-19

Originally released on LP in 1964 about the time the movie "Mary Poppins" was released (his versions of the title track and "A Spoonful of Sugar" are on here), this CD features Burl singing mostly Disney classics and other childrens classics such as "Swinging On a Star," "Who's Afraid of The Big Bad Wolf," "Funicula, Funiculi," "Mairzy Doats," plus mice stereo remakes of his own classics "Lavender Blue," and "Polly Wolly Doodle". If you like the elementary level childrens music on the "Little White Duck" CD on Columbia which is available through this site and other stores that sell CD's that are in print and want to go to a higher level, search high and low for this CD at such websites as eBay, GEMM and eBay's Half.com.

5 out of 5 stars The Blow Monkeys. Funky Greatness from the 80 ths.......2006-01-16

This singel collection from The Blow Monkeys is an intellectual form fore "disco". Oh now wait a little. I will rather called it "funky disco jazz hybrid". This Cd is rear, beacause each track has their one "personality" in a way. Each track stands for it self . This very relaxable to listen too. Some jazz, some funk, some "disco", and some pop, and you get an ultimate mix of pure musical energy. But the realy greatness with this collection, exept that it is a greatest hit`s singel collection, is the atmosphere all trough. The best track on this CD is Track 1 Wait, and you can hear the longer version on Track 11. What more can i say. This is maybe "yuppie" music, but is so good to see popstars dressed up in style, in clothes or in musical style. If you had problem get you "mental motor" running when you wake up, Choises is a good Choise. This is anyaway the ultimate introducton to one of the best bands from the 80 ths . The Blow Monkeys will blow you away. If you wanna buy a new sorround system take this Cd to the Hifi Store, and it will swing your`e soul.

5 out of 5 stars An indulgent treat for any Blow Monkeys or Dr. Robert fan........1999-06-29

It was so fortunate that I had been able to get my hands on this CD.Any Blow Monkeys or Dr. Robert fan knows it is difficult to get their works, especially in the US.I was able to catch up with all the years of music from 1983-1990on "Choices".This compilation is is so diverse and filled with different emotions. You can experience the changes in style from one song to the next,it's never the same. The thing so great about Dr. Robert is how he can create these fresh sounds and clever lyrics. It is definitely evident on this piece of work, and the sequence in which the songs are arranged could not have been better. The choices selected on "Choices" are also the most appropriate. I really don't think you even have to be a Blow Monkeys fan to appreciate this CD.You may not even know a thing about them nor heard a song but this is worth a listen from anyone who's just into good music. To me,this is great music, ingenious, magical, and so on but of course that is a biased opinion from a big fan.

    5 out of 5 stars A Satisfying Recording!.......2005-06-17

Live365.com provided the whole album to its broacasters and it gave me the time to evaluate his work. Brian Bromberg is a huge follower of the great bassist, Jaco Pastorious. Like Jaco, Brian's work is hip and innovative. The highlights on this release are "When I look in you're eyes", "Bass Face" and the title track which sets the mood for this CD. If you're not familiar with his music, this is a great starter! Outstanding work!

5 out of 5 stars Maybe his best original work !!!.......2004-11-30

I admit, I have loved Brian's work since I first heard him on his project..You Know That Feeling. On this project, Brian has 14 tracks with unique arrangements. Nothing sounds like a cover of anything you have heard. With guest artists like Jeff Lorber (who is at his best on this), Brian Culbertson (another smoking and rising star keyboardist in the instrumental format), Dave Kochanski (former Rippingtons keyboard and current Brittany Spears(it pays the bills)keyboards) and David Benoit (master pianist/composer) you can't go wrong with a line-up like this.

This project has it all. Funky tunes, sweet ballads, and sounds taht you swear are coming from a rock guitar but is simply is the masterful work of Bromberg's amazing bass talent on display. After you get this one, then I suggest you compare it to his covers of Jaco Pastorius's work. Bromberg's tribute is simply called Jaco. Both of them are worthy additions to a pop instrumental jazz collection.

    5 out of 5 stars Superb.......2004-01-19

I wasn't sure whether or not to buy this CD but I took the chance and I'm so glad I did. I've never bought anything by Brian before but will now investigate his whole back catologue. From the opening female cooing on "Never give up" through to the funked up pounding of "Bass Face" - you will not be disappointed. Jeff Lorber, Brian Culbertson and David Benoit guest throughout, particularly Lorber, who as ever is superb. Every track sounds as though it has Peter White strumming all over it but infact it is the Piccolo bass playing of Brian - quite expert playing. Favourite track has to be track 6 - "B2" where Brian and Culbertson swop nifty notes with one another. Every track is written by Brian with no filler in sight. Buy this CD...

3 out of 5 stars Lacks the Soul of "First Daze".......2004-05-30

Get "First Daze Here (1971-1975)" by Pentagram, instead. I've listened to that album thousands of times, over and over. So doomy, so heavy, so catchy, so bluesy, great stuff.

But on "Review Your Choices", the vocalist seems to have lost his touch. The vocal parts seem about as catchy as on the earlier recordings, but the vocalist's performance is very much lacking.

The musical instrumentation and structure on "Review Your Choices" is very good. The album is super high-fi, great for playing at a party. Very expensive recording sound. Big Big Big Guitars, Big Big Big tight fast Drumming, Big Big Big Bass, but only "decent" vocals from a vocalist whose style I adore.

After listening to "Review Your Choices" about ten times, and realizing it was bereft of "that old black-magik", I traded it back to the CD store, the very next day for Iron Maiden "KIllers" and I am very happy I did.

There is a strange interview with the vocalist at the end of the album, and it sounds to me like he has permanently scortched his mind and being with hard-drugs. Very sad.

5 out of 5 stars Heavy, heavy, heavy. Worth the extra $.......2003-10-01

I know it looks a bit expensive, but it's imported from Italy, for chrisakes. I guess Pentagram is a bit difficult to work with, so all their albums are on different labels. That said, this is a recent recording of new and old Pentagram songs. Some of them are newly penned, but some of them date from the 1970s and 1980s, as any true Pentagram fan will recognize a few songs from the early days. It doesn't matter. And it hardly matters that all the instruments are played by one dude, and Bobby L. does all the singing (and the bulk of the songwriting). Joe is a very good guitarist, a killer drummer, and the remake of the old songs, especially Review Your Choices comes across as brutal as you'd hope it would. Plus, Bobby sings pretty darn good for an old man.
Don't miss this CD if you are a fan of Pentagram, or if you want your idiot neighbor's lawn to die.

5 out of 5 stars Review on this choice.......2002-05-31

What's not to love about Pentagram? They are one of the loudest and most monolithic rock & roll bands ever. Plus they have one of the greatest and most overlooked vocalists in Metal, who just happens to be a dead ringer for Vlad The Impaler. Feedback drenched, droning dinosaur riffing at it's best. Bobby sure knows how to come up with some seriously eeeeeevil sounding melodies. This is PURE heavy metal. Dark, demented, and frighteningly heavy...

Three 6 Once again drops a crunk album. Though not they're best, it's pretty good. The best tracks are It's Whateva Wit Us, Gettin' Real Buck, and Who Da F*** U Playin' Wit. The soundtrack is by far not Triple Six's best album. If you want the good stuff check out Mystic Stylez, The End, Chapter 2: World Domination, and Prophet Posse: Body Parts. You should pick this album up for the DVD movie. The movie is pretty good, better than I thought it would be. It is funny at times, too. So go ahead & pick this up.
