Luchsinger's "Joy" Lives Up to Its Title.......2005-07-13
Prime Cuts: The Bridge, There's Still Hope, Sittin' at the Red Light
"Count It All Joy" is a masterpiece of arresting gravitas. Luchsinger shares more than just the same bloodlines as superstar sister Reba McEntire. Like her chart topping sibling, Luchsinger has an acumen for story songs that engages the heart and pricks the fancy of the ears. In fact, what really makes this Oklahoma native excel is that Luchsinger possesses a strong ownership of these 11 gems here: she not only understands the shafts of emotions inherent in these well crafted paeans, but she transposes them with such depth and dimensions as though she has lived through each and every syllable. Though this is marketed as a country-gospel CD, these songs are by no means bellicose or incendiary. Conversely, these songs are snapshots of life narrated with a diary-like frankness; they are songs that tells stories of a twenty year-old boy wrestling with his drug addictions, a lonely mother facing her empty nest, a woman contemplating the meaning of life and a guilt laden damsel finding forgiveness at the feet of Jesus. In short, these are songs that tell the story of you and me struggling to make sense of life, love and God. And they are told in passionate seriatim embellished with a bright disposition.
Hope seems to be the perennial theme running through the album with the most obvious being the Adam Wheeler-penned "There's Still Home." A gorgeous and well-written ballad, "There's Still Hope" tells of a drug addict, a child of a divorced family and friends separated because of war not giving up because "there's still hope... /another day another chance/The strength to change the circumstance/Is still alive when one heart holds on/There's still hope." Against the backdrop of some dexterous sounding steel guitars and fiddling, hope has never been more aurorally presented. Similar thematically to Brad Paisley's "He Didn't Have to," "What We Have Been Praying For" is a Cinderella tale of a single mother finding a second chance at love. While the late John Gaither's (to which the album is dedicated to) "Parable of the Windmill" is loosely based on the story Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman---a powerful encounter of forgiveness and salvation.
Few songs can take one's breath away as the piano dominated ballad "The Bridge." Written again by Adam Wheeler and Nashville hit writer Tony Haselden, "The Bridge" beautifully encapsulates Christ's reconciling work over a gorgeous heartfelt tune. "Sitting at the Red Light" and "Slow Dance More," on the other hand, pick up the tempo as Luchsinger makes an excursion to the more country-pop territory. In fact, "Sitting at the Red Light," a homily about making the most of our time, bubbles with hit potential, something in the stream of Reba's hit single "I'm a Survivor." "Slow Dance More," previously cut by Linda Davis, is ironically a perky number with some wonderful fiddling courtesy of Stuart Duncan.
Each of these 11 tracks finds Luchsinger pouring her heart and soul, without an ounce of clandestine, to Jesus and relationships that matter. Sonically, the landscape is country to the core awash with plenty of that rustic magic such as steel, fiddles and mandolin. Like her sister Reba, Luchsinger's has a way of getting behind the each song, steps into the shoes of her characters and voice their concerns before God in a way that brings comfort, joy and peace. This is music that touches the soul, count it all joy!

Energetic .......2007-02-13
Count It All Joy is a great first project for Darrel Petties and Strength In Praise. I have the DVD (only four songs though) and they are an energetic group of young people. If you are looking for church choir or university gospel choir repertoire, this is the CD. The single Count It All Joy is jumpin.' The vamp features the splitting of parts, (i.e. - sopranos come in first, then altos, you get the point). The sound is fresh, and doesn't sound dated, as sometimes some songs that have split parts can sound dated or overused.
"Glory Hallelujah" is another energetic song. I wish it was a little longer though. Smokie Norful steps in and sings "It Is Well," a great modern rendition of the hymn. For those who like old school, down home, country renditions, "Thank Ya Jesus" and "I'm On My Way" are for you. I look forward to hearing more from Darrel Petties and SIP.
This CD is TOOOO Bumpin!!!!!!!!!.......2006-05-20
I absolutely LOVE this CD!!!!!! The first 3 weeks I got it, I couldn't go to school without listening to it first. YES LORD and MIGHTY GOD are my JAMS!!! They get me excited no matter where I am or how I'm feeling. It even takes me back to those old Church services with songs like THANK YA JESUS! And don't get me started on GLORY HALLELUJAH!! This CD is truely a blessing to me and I'm sure it'll be one to you also. (No BOOTLEG COPIES!!!!!!!)
An Awesome Project!!!.......2006-04-09

Best for a Clark Sister Fan.......2003-09-20
The Clark Sisters always leave on looking for more- and you find a bit of it here.
Although this leaves you searching for more favorites- its satisfies your apetite for good wholesome gospel music inspired by God. Every song is understandable and legendary.
The ladies send you to new hights with favorites such as Count it all Joy. This is a treasure within itself, since the lead of this song is Denise Clark- who left the group early on to focus more on family and other branches of ministry.
Included is more foot stomping hand clapping songs that render up much soul.
Everything's Gonna Be Alright - puts you right in the era in which this LP was made- and sends you rocking.
Sisters, Twinkie and Dorinda sing lead for "I found what I've benn Looking For" with such compelling feelings.
If your looking for a studio sounding crisp two in one cd- this is not it. It is very retro- making you feel as though you are in the studio- while you hear claps- ad libs and more. The Cd has a live feel to it, without a question.
Its a great buy- and worth every penny.
God Bless You-
L4MC
DOUBLE ALBUM.......2003-09-08
These late 70's recording catches the sisters in their early days of just starting to record. Gospel tinged ballads and even disco highlight these recordings. "Patience" is a hand clapping uptempo church song. "I found what i'm looking for" is another good song.
Most of the songs are joyous and composed my middle sister TWINKIE CLARK. The sisters jam in the name of the lord on the disco romp "Everything is gonna be alright". It may be a disco jam, but the message is clear that faith in god is the key to hold on in life. "No other name" and "Determination" are also tracks to be reconded with.
The sound quality leaves something to be desired. This release is also The Clark Sisters early recordings and they had not yet found their nitch as far as harmonies or material. I would reccomend later releases but this is a must have for any Clark Sisters fan.

Product Description
Newcomer Joy Oliver enters the market as a female gospel rapper in a male dominated field. Yet, she holds her own with inventive lyrics and a magnetic stage presence that has been receiving rave revues all over the country. Her new album, with radio friendly songs such as "Not gonna change my mind" and "What did I do", is a much needed addition to the gospel hip-hop genre which in general has lacked crossover appeal from Urban to CCM. Joy Oliver is a pastorÂ’s daughter, and understands the importance of a strong Christ centered message, reflected in her debut sure to speak to young and older souls alike. Produced and Co-Written by Orlando "Substance" Rodriguez

It was a pleasure listening to an artist that did not follow the same trend in style and sound as with many of the gospel artist today. You can hear the love of God in his music and the production from Fayzomac Productions captured the heart and sold of Rev Miller. It's no doubt that songs such as "Count It All Joy", "Mama's Song", "Little Erica" and "Gonna Be With Jesus" should find there way on a regular playlist at many of the top gospel stations. Several Stations are already playing him in the bay area and the number is growing.
