Not only does Debelah Morgan have the rock-hard abs, R&B chops, and high vocal register that made Mariah Carey a household name, but she also has extensive classical training that gives some legitimacy to the Bach and Bizet samples sprinkled among her album's hip-pop beats. On personality, however, Carey needn't worry: Morgan's Dance with Me has no spirit of its own and no story to tell. The usual mix of dancefloor tracks and ballads here includes some good ones, such as "Baby I Need Your Love" and "Let's Get It On," and some not-so-good ones, such as "Come and Dance" and "Can't Stop Loving You." But all are predictable retreads of songs you've heard before. Morgan's voice is strong, but her material holds her back, keeping her out of contention in this age of the superdiva. --Courtney Kemp

Absolutely Enticing over and over.......2006-02-02

This lady has never received her deserved popularity or fame.
Amazing music, with one of the most endearing ranges of all soul/R&B/Jazz singers I have ever heard.
I am a jazz player and have listened to enough.
Along with performers like Maysa, this lady has it all.
Her music is arranged perfectly for her voice, with the background singers coming in at just the right time and tone.
As for pleasure:: Well, just turn it on and let it play over and over and over and over.
I wear the headphones with her CD, and while at the computer, time goes by in a dream world of pure pleasure.. a joy to the soul.
I sure wish she someone would manage her career. What a sound.

Not good...............2005-03-19

For some reason ive been wanting this cd. I thought it contained the upbeat version of I remember. But it didnt and i am highly pissed. this whole cd sucks, too many ballads.

This is a great album. I don't think it got any promotion. This girl can blow. Debelah is just another artist that deserves a lot of credit and was passed over.

Debelah Should Be More Successful.......2003-07-04

I think Debelah Morgan is one of the best-kept secrets of today's music. She has an amazing voice and writes her own material. I think she should be far more successful than some of her pop/R&B contemporaries. She has the vocal range of Mariah Carey, the pop appeal of Christina Aguilera, and the soul of Toni Braxton, as is showcased on this album:
1. DANCE WITH ME - This infectious dance song was Debelah's only (minor) hit. The lyrics are catchy beyond belief, and the salsa-spiced beats are great. One of the best dance songs ever, in my opinion - 5/5
2. I REMEMBER - A sweet, Mariah-esque mid-tempo song. The lovey-dovey lyrics and mediocre production aren't my favorite on the disc, but Debelah's voice more than pulls them off as she demonstrates her stunning range - 5/5
3. CLOSE TO YOU - A gorgeous ballad that Debelah delivers with startling conviction and emotion. One of my favorites on this album, and a true classic love song - 5/5
4. LET'S GET IT ON - Another funky smash with sexy lyrics and an addictive chorus. This one is almost as danceable as #1, though it's definitely not one of my favorites. Sounds a bit too much like other R&B songs out there - 4/5
5. I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU - This one is pure, smooth R&B with a hint of jazz. The piano opening also adds to its appeal. This one is mid-tempo with good lyrics, though the chorus can get a bit annoying - 5/5
6. TAKE THE RAIN AWAY - This song is probably the most poppy one on the record, though there are hints of Toni Braxton-like soul and even some disco. Still, it's a bit too bubblegum for my tastes - 4/5
7. WHAT WOULD YOU DO - My favorite song on the record. This ballad is along the same lines as #3, though these lyrics tell of a woman threatening to leave her man if he doesn't treat her better. Vocally, the best song on the album - 5/5
8. THINK OF YOU (intro) - Bah! I hate interludes! This accapella opening to the following track actually isn't half-bad, though - 4/5
9. THINK OF YOU - One of my least favorite songs. It has a cheesy melody and even cheesier lyrics. This one sounds as though she's trying to compete with the likes of Britney Spears, though it's a poor attempt - 3/5
10. BABY I NEED YOUR LOVE - A throbbing mid-tempo R&B jingle that will undoubtedly have you dancing to the urban-influenced melody and singing along to the almost disgustingly catchy lyrics - 5/5
11. BRING BACK THE SUN - Another ballad, though not as good as #'s 3 and 7. It still showcases her vocal range, though not as well as the two aforementioned ballads. I also don't care for the lyrics - 4/5
12. COME AND DANZ - Similar to #1 but with a slightly different sound, this song is another infectious party jam that is bound to slap your behind onto the dancefloor. I think Debelah can compete with Janet Jackson at turning otherwise forgettable upbeat songs into dance anthems - 5/5
13. ALRIGHT - This song is a pretty mid-tempo ballad, I guess, but I'm not really into religious music, so it's my least favorite song on the record. Skip this one if you're not into Christian music, like me - 3/5
14. FALL IN LOVE AGAIN - I'm glad they included this bonus track on the album because it's my favorite song besides #7. Another mid-tempo smash that probably would have made a very successful single - 5/5

Very good........2003-04-06

Debelah may be not very known in the U.S but she
has a big fan club following her in Europe.
Her music is basically with a touch of R&B which turns out to be very good and her voice helps her very much.
She has a big hit that was a Top 10 in Europe, I'm talking about her first single "Take the rain away" if I could compare her with another singer I would say that she has the style and voice of Mariah Carey (when I heard her for the first time I thought it was Mariah).
This album is from 2000 and has the hit singles "Dance with me" and "Take the rain away".
Good try.

Where did She Go???.......2002-03-23

That's the question I have also asked with other newcomer Blu Cantrell (Hit 'Em Up Style). The single from last year "Dance with Me" transforms the Classic musical number "Hernando's Hideaway" from "The Pajama Game" to a more modern, R&B/Spanish feel. The video is also HOT as well, with some of the best choreography I have seen in videos in a while (Eat ur heart out Britney!). I hope she releases another cool single soon 'cause she Definatly has a cool voice and with a hot song like this I can only Imagine what she has in store for us next...

Debelah Morgan Still wan'ts yo dance on with remixes!.......2000-12-02

I'm a person who is found of remixes but not fond of the club remixes which are like 10 mins long, However this one time I will make an exception because I really loved these remixes. This is the ultimate club remix single, there is aproximately 49:56 minute's on this single, that as long as most albums these days, and these are just remixes.

Track Listing

1)Album Version 3:42 = This is the version off the album! (DUH!) If you don't own the album you better go get it because if you like this song than you'll like her whole CD, because the other songs live up to this one and most are even better.

2)JP Club Mix 7:46 = There are a lot of JP remixes so I'll try to explain in detail since they are all different and are not similar in anyway. This one has the latin beat's, you know the salsa stuff, and it has a much faster beat than the original version of the song.

3)JP Radio Mix 3:34 = Now, this is a radio edit of track 2, I prefer to listen to this one better. (MUCH SHORTER)

4)The Jill and Jack Mix 8:01 = This remix is very impressive! It was remixed by Debelah Morgan her self and a few other people. Debelah recorded the song over again so that it wouldn't be off beat, I really admire that she would go through so much trouble. Great beat, By far my favorite Remix. This has the salsa influences to, but it sticks more to the R&B side of thangs.

5)JP Underground Mix 9:39 = Not to be confused with track 2 and 3, this track has a great beat, more R&B influences and is nothing like that of track 2 and 3.

6)JP Sound Factory Mix 10:43 = This remix is a bit to long, but the good thing about these remixes is they have Debelah singing throughout the whole track, its not just like instrumental for 10 minute's and then Debelah sings one lyric, she sings throughout the whole thing.

7)JP Sound Factory Dub 7:51 = This is like that of track 6, except shortert, the beat is a little bit different but it is pretty much on the same track.

Go out and buy this, I would also recomend that you by her full album of the same title "Dance With Me" before, this way you can listen to it, and I am positive you will want more! Debelah has everything other singers wish they had, Debelah write's her own songs, make's the beats to her songs, remixes her songs, what more could you ask for. I hope this was helpfull, and I hope you are wise enough to buy this, because if you don't, than you don't know what your missing!

I purchased the "Dance With Me" single in the store. The track listings are as follows:

All three songs are great. But what really impressed me about this cd is that it had a bonus video. Just place it in your pc and and sign up to access the video by hyperCD. This is an excellent idea. Hopefully, other artists will follow her lead. I got this for just $1.99 on sale.

Debelah really deserves more credit then she gets. I mean, recently she was dropped by her record label. Man did they make a wrong decision. Her voice is very comparable to R&B/Pop diva Mariah Carey. Debelah CAN hit those high notes and hit them WELL. Anyways, "Dance With Me" was my jam of 2000/2001 my senior year in high school. The fact that it takes "Hernando's Hideaway" from "The Pajama Game" to another level is so cool. My school did that musical that year so it also brings back memories. I Love this song and really reccomend this CD-Single. Hopefully Debelah won't be a one-hit wonder in the US.

There's a couple of really annoying remixes on here, even more than "Independant Woman Part One" remixes. If you love Debelah or think she's your role model than maybe buy this. But it's not too essential.

I highly admire Debelah Morgan and her single "Dance With Me." This talented young woman's voice is so powerful. It is proven with the single "Dance With Me." Debelah has recently become one of my favorite artists.

"Dance With Me" production is solely credited to Debelah and her brother Giloh Morgan. She is a talented song writer and singer. She is also quite beautiful, well-grounded, well-versed and positive music artist. Her vocal talent is also rather impressive. She does those vocal tricks (high-pitched voice) like Mariah Carey. It's pretty cute. If you like artists like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Deborah Cox, I strongly urge you to pick up Debelah Morgan's "Dance With Me."

"Dance With Me" single has several club remixes that are all totally distinct from each other. If you are a person that likes to go clubbing and dancing, I'm pretty sure you would enjoy Debelah Morgan's remixes on her CDS Maxi Single. Plus the CD-single is actually a Hyper-CD meaning that you can watch the video of "Dance With Me" on your computer. I enjoyed it so much! The choreography was extraordinary. Debelah Morgan puts the adult contemporary flair to the teen pop music world consisting of artists like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Mandy Moore.

I like Debelah because she is not a made up artist, she seems so natural and original! It's like if I know her or something. It's pretty cool. heheh :) I love Debelah's style!

Debelah is the bomb! "Dance With Me" by Debelah Morgan receives a Kenny rating of A+.

Over the Top.......2000-11-05

I think Debelah has an amazing voice, there is an exception to this. The over the top "Mariah Carey"-like high notes, they seem so misplaced in the songs, and they do not seem to enhance the songs, but distract. Just about every song on this album has Debelah "Screeching High notes",5 octaves or not, I think it is too much on this CD. If you can get past those failed attempts at sustaining such High notes, it is a really nice CD, great beats, very danceable, and romantic lyrics.

Over-all I think there is too much focus on her Highest octaves. Debelah should leave the High notes to Mariah and Minnie Ripperton. Debelah is so much better just singing in her amazing middle voice. I recommend giving this CD a chance, it will grow on you, and she will Grow as a artist up and coming. Thank goodness there is someone to rescue us from the "Britney-Christina" invasion.

Not up to her Dance with me.......2006-02-02

I thought this would be another heartbreaker of a CD.
After all, Dance with me was hard to beat. Probably one of the best CDs of all time.
Well, this was quite disappointing.
There is one cut however which is fantatic. FLOATING.
Almost worth buying the CD.
So, if you really want her voice, buy the DANCE WITH ME cd.
I just can't say enough about that album. It is infectious.

this is her second single of her album as well as the second track of her album, not as good as "dance with me" but this song has its strength, still, debelah has been performing with ala mariah's style, not comparing but just similar, that's all!
"i remember" is another offer from debelah but for me, it's better worth to get her album rather than her single, not this one, though!
