This CD is the bomb if you were into Clinton's music other than Atomic Dog. This is a must have. My favorite is "Last Dance". Very "Funkadelic", but a great dance number. The video was weird but that's George. "Fries" must be played with the volume up. George had it going on in the 80's. I recommened this to all music lovers and check this funk out!
Can't sit/stand still!!.......2006-07-10
This is a fabulous CD, ALL the songs are terrific. I love George Clinton's music and got the idea to use one of his CD's to listen to while I do my walking. Well I can tell you that is the best CD to make you keep moving and move at a very brisk pace. Makes walking FUN!!!
Slick Willy Rocks the Hizouse...........2004-10-08
The first time I saw Clinton playing live was in 92'at the MTV Rock the Vote rally in Cleveland and he rocked my vote to the bone dawg! I was surprised to see how long (and colourful) his hair is on this CD, but as an ex-president he can do what he wants and still get my 'spect. Anyone who blows the sax the way Clinton does (listen to Atomic Dog, that will make you shake!) and can still find time to date interns while laying down the tracks to this bomb is number one in my book. (Props to Monica for inspiring Clinton to write Nubian Nut and R&B Skeletons in the Closet).

sure,gc's not the same as pfunk's stuff-but this boy always be brangin the funk!eighties beats are rampant throughout the album and that's a very good thing.it's party music perfection,to be exact!my personal fav cuts are "petey pill popper","do frys go w/ that shake?",and of corse"atomic dawg".george definatly should've been as big as micheal jackson,or bigger!

George Clinton is a Hit&Miss Solo Artist but when He Hits you know can anyone say "Atomic Dog"?Do Fries go with that Shake is a tight Jam as well.the rest of the Cuts here are Hit&Miss.The Cat is a Genius&Knows how to Blend things together.but His Solo Career is Hit&Miss still you get a few knock out Jams here."Atomic Dog" Alone is worth the Disc alone.

My son gave me this for Christmas and what a blessing this cd was to me. I have had a lot of cd's that were stolen from me so this Cd had a couple of those songs. I love "Knock It Down" and SweatBand's "Freak to Freak". I like this cd but the song that had me dancing all over the house was "Pumpin It Up". Get this and let you hips move to the funky groove. Other artist like Junie Morrison and the late Phillppe Wynn (Spinners former lead singer) and Mutiny delivers some good funky stuff as well.

I love p funk but I was expecting something new and interesting these are old songs and I could like download them myself.

How many times are the going to Re-release this damn Live and Kickin' album???

George Clinton is an amazing musician and live performer, which is why I was surprised I didn't like this CD more. My complaint is this: This CD is a compilation of George Clinton's greatest hits performed live, but they are not all from the same concert. It left me with a choppy and inconsistent feeling. When I buy a live CD of any artist I want the whole show, not one song from a show. If I wanted a bunch of hits I would have bought a greatest hits album. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of good songs on this CD. But I reccomend buying a greatest hits package, and not this scattered live album, if that's what you're looking for.

the greatest solo effort by clinton, a wonderful display of funk on this one, the coldest.
Underrated -> serious p-funk.......2004-11-07
This is the last serious p-funk album. Yes, GC uses eighties drum machines and synthesizers, but p-funk always changed with the times. On this album GC collaborated with Steve Washington (of funk band Slave), Doug Wimbish and Thomas Dolby. And GC's brand of eighties music sounds nothing like anything else around at the time. Vocally GC's on top of his game. He could still do those weird falsettos. It's the last p-funk album with a theme; the Cold War. Despite the hyper vocals and dance grooves it has a dark, almost depressing undercurrent that may put many people off. But I kinda like it...

clinton's trying hard to cash in the 80's not his best work but not his worst either if you truly love p funk you should get this.

This is the ORIGINAL Best of George Clinton CD from 1987. If you are reading this and see the album for sale you better BUT IT NOW!!! I have been searching for this CD for several years, thanks to the internet I finally have it. This is the MOST rare CD from George Clinton next to R&B Skeletons in the Closet.
