Customer Reviews:
Fabulous for any Broadway-lover.......2007-01-30
Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.
Top Shelf.......2007-01-04
This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.
TERRIFIC CD'S.......2006-03-23
THESE BROADWAY MUSICALS CD'S ARE A BROADWAY LOVERS DREAM. WITH EACH SONG, MEMORIES COME FLOODING BACK. BOTH THE FAMILIAR AND THE FORGOTTEN SONGS ARE A TRUE LISTENING PLEASURE. IF YOU LIKE BROADWAY, YOU'LL LOVE THIS SET.
Great Collection of Broadways greatest Songs .......2005-06-14
This Collection was perfectly made it has almost all the most famous Broadway songs on this 5 cd set. The Music is great and has Broadways greatest treasures like "Memory""People""With One Look""Give my regards Too Broadway" just to name a few of this numerous cd set with over 100 songs. This is a great buy if you like musicals or The music of Broadway
Great Compilation!.......2005-01-17
If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Ain't That Brandy's Brotha.......2002-01-03
Ray J's album "This Ain't a Game " is a slight step up from previous songs of his like "Let It Go" from the Set It Off soundtrack but not by much . I really thought this album wasn't going to be anything more than exceedingly stupid ..the first single "Wait a Minute" wouldn't really be much if it wasn't for the appearance by Lil' Kim and then I really thought it would be over for him after that hit "Formal Invite" but after the release of his third single "Keep Your Head Up" I was like "Whoa , THIS is Ray J ?" So needless to say I was surprised that the album was going to be any good .
The beats and baselines are hot .. he really should just release an instrumental album because save for songs like the aforementioned "Keep Your Head Up", "Crazy" and "I Tried" the vocals aren't all that they could be . The problem with this album is that Ray J doesn't want the same fan base as his sister , Brandy , and wants some street credibility so he spends most of this album trying to be "hard" by doing this horrible combo of "rapping" and singing .. the way he does on "Formal Invite" and I hate to be the one to break it to him but "Ray , baby , you just ...no . Don't do that . It's hurting us all and no self respecting woman ..is gonna 'you know , you know lay down wit' cha" if you're gonna spit weak game like that ."
I had originally written him off as nothing but a background singer who wanted some spotlight ..but really he isn't bad if he sticks to just singing and stops trying to be his faux thug alter-ego Dorien D-Money from "Moesha" .
Overall , "This Ain't a Game " is pretty good as long as you stay away from tracks such as "Interlude" , "Out the Ghetto " and "Formal Invite ."

Customer Reviews:
A Lost gem!!!.......2005-09-19
People stop sleeping, Ray J is an artist that should be respected and given his dues. In that I mean he is more than Brandys brother. When I bought this cd in 2001 I was so suprised how amazing the album was. Trust me this album still gets spins. People just dont know about Ray J. The first release 'Wait a minute' was a track that I got to admit I was not trying to hear, but it dragged me in and got me hooked. The Cd is full of quality tracks, my favourites are 'Formal Invite', 'Keep Ur Head' up and the brilliant 'Out the Ghetto'. We need to stop hating and start showing Ray J some love! Dont get me started on his marketing team. What happened to the promoting of this artist?
Hot Album!.......2005-09-18
I think this is a hot album. I just think it needed to be promoted more. If it was promoted more it would have sold more.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU?????.......2004-12-08
MAN WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH YALL? THIS IS A CLASSIC ALBUM AND VERY UNDER RATED. NO, IM NOT SOME LITTLE CRAZED GIRL WHO JUST LIKES HIS LOOKS. IM A WOMAN WHO DOES THINK HE IS FINE,, BUT EVEN THOUGH HE IS THAT,, IF HIS MUSIC SUCKS IT JUST SUCKS.. BUT THATS NOT THE CASE... THIS IS A VERY GREAT ALBUM... PRODUCER WISE AND SONG WISE... IS IT JUST ME OR DOES RAY J SOUND LIKE BOBBY BROWN ON THE SONG "I TRIED"? LISTEN TO "THIS AIN'T A GAME" AND IM TELLING YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ,, I MEAN EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION , BUT THIS A GREAT ALBUM THAT I LOVE TO DEATH,, AND IF HE WAS PROMOTED CORRECTLY AND RELEASED THE RIGHT SINGLES,, THIS AINT A GAME WOULD HAVE GONE PLATNIUM.... I KNOW HE IS NOT THE BEST SINGER IN THE WORLD BUT HE CAN HOLD A NOTE... HE KIND OF WHISPERS TO YOU AND GIVES YOU HIS OWN UNIQUE SOUND AND HIS ALBUM IS SO DIFFERENT . YOU CAN HEAR HIS CATCH PHRASE PERIODICALLY "YEAH" I THOUGHT THAT WAS A DIFFERENT DIRECTION TO GO IN AND HE DOESNT SING ABOUT O' GIRL LETS MAKE LOVE AND I LOVE YOU AND I GOT H**S AND ALL OF THAT,, HE SPEAKS ON THINGS LIKE POVERTY,,, BEING IN LOVE ,, A ROCKY RELATIONSHIP AND A BREAKUP AND ALSO A CRAZY EX- GIRLFRIEND... IM TELLING YALL TO PICK THIS ONE UP OR DOWNLOAD IT BEACAUSE "THIS AINT A GAME" AINT A GAME.....
FAVORITE TRACKS---
"NO MORE"--MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SONG ON THIS ALBUM,, HE REALLY BELTS THIS ONE OUT AND YOU CAN TELL HE FEELS IT . THIS SONG STAYS ON REPEAT IN MY CD PLAYER,, IT IS VERY EMOTIONAL SONG ABOUT A BREAKUP,,, HE SINGS THE MESS OUT OF THIS ONE,, SHOWS HIS VERSATILITY AND VOCAL ABILITY.. 5/5
"TAKIN' CONTROL"-- LOVELY SONG ABOUT HIM LOVING HIS GIRL AND SHE STAYS ON HIS MIND AND LEADING HIM DOWN THE RIGHT PATH. 5/5
"WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE"-- SAD LOVE SONG ABOUT A COUPLE WHO IS ON THE BRINK OF BREAKING UP BECAUSE SHE IS MOVING,, I LOVE THIS SONG...5/5
"I TRIED" -- I SWEAR HE SOUNDS LIKE BOBBY BROWN ON THIS ONE... ITS ABOUT A COUPLE WHO BROKE UP AND SHE JUST WONT LEAVE HIM ALONE ,, THIS IS A TIGHT TRACK THAT HE SHOWS HIS VOCAL ABILITY ON AS WELL. 5/5
"WET ME" -- I LOVE THIS (DARKCHILD) TRACK ,, IT PUTS YOU IN THE MOOD,, AND THE TOPIC SPEAKS FOR ITSELF,, ITS A VERY SEXY SONG..5/5
"OUT OF THE GHETTO"-- OOH!!! WHAT PRETTY SONG ABOUT A COUPLE WHO STAYS IN THE GHETTO AND HE WANTS TO LEAVE TO SHOW HER A BETTER LIFE,, THIS BEAT IS SICK,, VERY,, VERY GOOD SONG I LOVE THIS ONE ALOT. 5/5
"KEEP YOUR HEAD UP" -- I LOVE THIS SONG TOO ,, BUT IT SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE VIDEO PLAY....4/5
"WAIT A MINUTE" -- WE KNOW ABOUT THIS ONE,, BUT I LOVE THIS SONG TO THIS DAY...
"THIS AINT A GAME"-- ANOTHER ONE OF (DARKCHILD'S) CREATIONS,, UPBEAT SONG SPEAKING ABOUT HOW HE HAS NO TIME FOR GAMES AND HE IS SERIOUS ABOUT EVERYTHING HE DOES..4/5
ALL IN ALL "THIS AINT A GAME" CONSISTS MOSTLY OF UP TO MID TEMPO SONGS AND ABOUT THREE SLOW SONGS BUT DONT LET THAT FOOL YOU,, THIS ONE IS A MUST HAVE... MAN I HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPED THOSE OF YOU WHO DOUBTED RAY J AND HIS TALENT BECAUSE HE HAS IT AND IT SHOWS HERE,, JUST GIVE HIM A CHANCE,, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED....
Hey Man, what happened?.......2004-06-01
Ray J has talent but there is only 1 good song on this CD, the rest is hot garbage. Whoever did the A&R needs to be fired
WET ME.......2004-01-14
Really no Explaination needed. Ray has grown up and he wants every one 2 know. Get n 2 it, he taught Brandy, her runs.......
I love it, and the Public and Real MUSIC LOVERS should relate.
